I doubt Yuen will be on this,he was on Unleashed and Transporter b/c Besson is a fan,i think Lettier will do his own action on TIH

We don't know yet...but his working with Yuen points to his willingness to work with others and defer to more knowledgable sources.

Thats a good point actually, i hope he gives Ang Lee a call as well as Stan Lee.

maybe he's great with action

I just read the news on the Hype's main page about this news and that the Hulk sequel is a seemingly for sure future movie. What can I say except freakin' awesome! :hulk:

"Well I'm not particularly confident about this appointment, i will wait and see what this guy has to say before i get overly worried. BUT, i have a feeling we are getting a 90 minute action movie for this sequel."
That's my worry and i hope it's unfounded, more Hulk action im all for but i want it balanced with Bruce's journey and character devlopment
I think you will get Hulk action balanced with the need to save money by having Bruce hiding from rejects from the Xfiles a la Bruce Jones. Just a guess.

The new Director speaks!

Quote:
'Stéphane ARGENTIN' from EcranLarge.com tells us they already got a chance to speak to The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier after last night's announcement:

We were able to get in touch with director Louis Leterrier this morning regarding The Incredible Hulk to ask him a few precisions about the project. He told us that he was previously in relation with Marvel to direct Iron-Man before the project finally went to Jon Favreau. Seeing Leterrier's passion for Marvel comics, Avi Arad told him about this new Hulk and it took Louis less than half an hour to get convinced by the new orientation of the movie and agree to direct.

"We won't be spending times presenting the characters, which is unfortunately pretty much unavoidable as far as number ones are concerned. Someway like Spider-Man 2, Marvel wants this Hulk to be the one fans would really want to see on the big screen. I'm not badmouthing Ang Lee's movie which has its supporters but I think the tone was overall a little bit too serious. As far as the casting is concerned, we don't know yet if Eric Bana will be onboard and regarding Hulk, I can already tell you that I don't intend to use as much 3D as the first movie did. As for the budget, it will be over 100 millions".
Some of this worries me.:(

Well as long as he doesn't play the Hulk I think that would be a good first step.

Oh God, Zak Penn is writing this? :(
Shltfest. ;)

Haven't seen any of LL's movies so I can't really comment if he's good or bad choice.

I'm looking foward to Ant-Man almost more than Hulk 2!:o

i really don't get the interest in Ant-man, sounds too passive
and corny to me.
i'm a Marvel guy but that's not a sole character i would think
the general public would break down the theater doors
to go see - i doubt Marvel will get much of a profit
out of an Ant-man film as they 'd like to think.

i would though at least DR.STRANGE,
MORBIUS,IRON FIST
or BLACK PANTHER before an Ant-man film.

:down

Only... over 100 million? I'm scared.... I can't see how they'll do Hulk and Abomination with that amount.

This is total bull****. Ang Lee's version was a total work of art. So far, this looks like everything Avi has wanted, pointless action, little to no characterization, none of the original cast (Bana himself has stated its a maybe at best) and weakest budget this side of the original X-men. Yeah jackass, Lee's version was a bit too serious, because, GASP!!, the Hulk is an incredibly serious character!

& if I were Zak Penn right now, I'd be scrambling to cozy up to Peter David so I could pick his brain for script ideas.

I think Louis Leterrier should take a page from Fav's playbook and keep in touch with the fans.

I think the choice is kinda original... they're taking some "risks" and i like that. Experimenting with new directors and that thing. Though I didn't like much his Asterix, very cheesy... but I haven't seen the Transporter...is it good?

Leterrier didn't direct any Astérix film.
I haven't seen any of the Transporter movies because of LucBesson producing/writing (he's an idiot) but what I've seen of those films tend to prove he's a very capable director in terms of action.

I'm a bit worrying about what he meant with "not as much 3D as there was in the first film". :o

Well that'll probably happen seeing how video blogs are popping eveywhere (GR, SM3)...

hey all........this is an interesting piece of news.

I'm a little concerned with all the talks of "Hulk-lite" or the first movie being "too serious." Umm.....the Hulk is supposed to be a serious character........and I want the sequel to be even more serious, tragic, angrier than the first!!! lol.

I actually feel the Ang Lee's Hulk tried to be serious......but was hampered by the "artsy" visual presentation of the movie.....i.e. trying to make it a living "comic book" actually detracted from the underlying seriousness of the story.......

So.......I hope Marvel does not give in.........and ruin the movie by doing what they did to the Burton Batman films..........ppl complained the 1st 2 Batman movies were too "dark" and serious........so they went a liter direction...........and we got the Schumacher disasters.....

Wow a terrible director with a terrible writer and a smaller budget than the original (and most likely without Bana or Connolly)....the smell of success for Marvel on this one.

Boy, Marvel is really screwed after SM3 is out and Sony closes that franchise then.

Hmm.... I have to wait and see on this one. I can understand more action, but the serious nature of The Hulk should not be taken out.
Hope Bana and Connelly return. The first movie I know you can't have a lot of action, because most origin films establish the characters and the supporting cast, but more action in a sequel I agree.

Again, I cannot make a call yet. I have to wait and see.

Sony looses the rights after that. Marvel will just make their own just like they're doing with Iron man and Hulk.

And what makes you think Ghost Rider, Fan4 2, Hulk 2, Iron Man, Punisher 2, Wolverine(not to mention Gambit) , and such won't do well at all? DC only has TWO characters that do well and they seem to be just fine.

Not what I was expecting. At all.

If you're not going to put the effort forward to make the project work, why even bother?

This director sounds like he doesnt have a clue!! He calls cgi 3D and says there will be little characterisation. Oh my god, why marvel, i waited 3 years for this ****!!!
