BvS It's always Darkest before The Dawn... Chris Terrio IS the Script Writer - Part 1

"Heresy!" and "Release the World Engine." were totally not ****** lines.

I agree with "He's kinda hot."
And the whole kissing thingy. That was utter cringe level 9000.

I admit those were definitely brought down to cringey because of bad delivery.

Yeah, the dialogue was direct and grating in MOS. I thought it was odd how Lois went from saying "measuring *****" to "need to tinkle". She might as well have said "need to piss" or "take a dump".

I think BvS is already more quotable than MoS and has dialogue that's poetic and has more personality.

Oh I forgot the BIG one: "They say it's all downhill after the first kiss" Who says that?!? I love me some Clois moments, but why ruin it with such a bizarre line? :(

That line is exactly what I meant by "the whole kissing thingy". Horrible.

Whether Goyer wrote good or bad dialogue for Man of Steel i am happy as hell that Terrio's writing some fantastic comic-book filled dialogue for BvS that'll make us DC cbm fans excited AF! I mean "Maybe it's the Gotham City in me. We just have a bad history with freaks dressed like clowns." that line still pumps me up to this day!

I am going to enjoy the hell out of the dialogue in BvS regardless of if this films good or bad. :hmr:

What was bizarre about it? I think it sounds exactly like something Lois would say.

Problem is she didn't say it with a smirk. They were trying to be romantic.

I'm not bothered by it, smirking or non-smirking.

Smirking would've made an already borderline inappropriate moment just straight up inappropriate. I didn't have a problem with Superman and Lois embracing in relief, but it would've been beyond uncomfortable for me to see either one of them smile while standing in the ruins of a city block.

That kiss scene shoudln't have happened at all imo.

Maybe not, but if it HAD to happen, the way they ended up doing it was probably as good as it could get.

My theater liked the "I think he's kinda hot" line the first time I saw it so I guess it worked. I thought it was fine.

I'm with LibidoLoca on this one. The dialogue in MoS was absolutely one of its weakest elements to me. Thankfully, Terrio seems to have done a much better job on that front based on what little dialogue we've heard here thus far.

My theater did too, but my main issue was where it was placed as well. This happens right after we see Metropolis become Ground Zero and Superman just broke General Zod's neck. I understand they were trying to lighten up the mood, but it could have done a better job than that scene. I've always said MOS could have gone from "an okay action film with great visuals and great ideas that were never fully realized" to "a very good CBM" if they had cut the fight with Zod down and put that time in not only developing Clark's character more in the present, but to the entire cast.

I like seeing Henry's mouth at work no matter the context. But some scenes is MOS needed to be switched around...one of them was the kiss; it shouldn't have happened there either no matter what, perhaps a scene like at the end of one of the STAS episodes where Superman is on top of a building listening to people talk in fear of him and Lois comes up...they talk and then they kiss. The line she said...yeah I've tried for years to make it work and it just doesn't.
The dialogue in this trailer is fantastic IMO; everyone says its Terrio's work and I hate to say I agree. He makes Lex sound so much more intriguing than Zod...but I still say MOS best line was " YOU THINK YOU CAN THREATEN MY MOTHER!"

For me it felt like the ubiquitous, obligatory kiss scenes from the old action films of the '80s, where even though there's been next to no romantic development between the two characters, they kiss just because....because.
