I'm watching The Spy Who Loved Me for the first time since I was ten...yeah, not really into it. The satirical edge that they put on the Moore movies is just atrocious.

After seeing the mythbuster episode comparing the different shooting styles used in hollywood movies i can't stop looking at the gif and thinking how most of them are for sure missing, I'm sure it's the same for those of you out there familiar with shooting.

Craig is actually lining up his target thought the sights so he's got the best chance and is the most realistic pose for a trained agent...but it's bond after all i suppose, he could be shooting between his legs and still hit someone.

Watch For Your Eyes Only for a more straight faced, down to earth Bond film.

Watched Octopussy, the train sequence was cool but I can't remember anything else.

Went to a 5:45pm showing

COMPLETELY PACKED

Some parts dragged/got boring:

-Shanghai.
-Bond and Serverine's talk at the bar
-Bond and Severine heading to the island.

I understood 90% of what Bernice said.

The CGI komodo dragon didn't bother me. I was thinking "Maybe the bodyguard will throw back the gun?" LOL

Some of the dry humor got no response

-Provocateur? Provacateuress?

-Resurrection....

Some laughter at Silva touching Bond and Silva's facial expressions

Lot's of giddiness from the audience when the Aston showed up

"He went in to those tunnels. He didn't come out for two days. When he came back he wasn't a boy anymore"

Me- Batman?

Some people laughed at Silva's final moments

"ARGGGGGGHHH!!!!!"

*Laughter*

I was with some people that were expecting some BIGGER action. Roger Moore style escapist/Brosnan level escapism action.

"Skyfall" still had action but aside from the bike chase everything else was subdued

I guess what i'm saying is there was no big set action piece besides the bike chase/train fight.

Finally saw this. I liked it overall. It felt like a real Bond movie. The acting was great but Silva's plot just doesn't make sense. If he could hack into her computer and find M's schedule, he could have killed her at any time.

That was kind of the point. He was basically telling her, with every subsequent thing he did, that he was in control.

Q’s gonna be pissed.

I was also expecting the bodyguard to throw it back, or Bond to retrieve it. When he didn't I was thinking "Oh, Q will not be happy."

I still laugh thinking about Bond's reaction to Silva [BLACKOUT]blowing up the Aston[/BLACKOUT].:hehe:

This might have been a bit TOO over the top but I was expecting this

*Guard get's dragged into the dark area by a komodo*

*Gun get's tossed back from the dark area"

*We hear the komodo grow softly*

I might have rolled my eyes at that, but it would have been with a smile on my face.

Silva keeps on saying "think of your sins". How is she going to think of her sins if she is dead?

I think it's just him trying to make M as paranoid as possible, whilst starting to reveal himself from the shadows.

Silva is telling her to think of her sins before he kills her. He was always planning to kill her in parliment. That is why leading up to that he is telling her to think on her sins.

I had a feeling this Bond film would rank right up there with the best of all time and I wasn't disappointed.

This one is easily in the top 3 of the best Bond films of all time IMO.

Luckily Bardem and his performance coming into the picture carried the film. A little to much like what the Joker did in TDK, but still a great Bond film.

Gotta hope the Broccolis are smart this time around and keep Mendes and Deakins for the next film.

I just want this on blu-ray asap - I generally don't enjoy the cinema but Ive seen it twice now

Of course he plans on killing her, but he also wants it to be personal. I also think Silva's plan is marred by his feelings for M. It is why he hesitant when he finally gets his chance.

Of course. Silva would have been about 17 years old when he was working for M initially and at that age, working Unser a matriarch, doing the sort of jobs he was doing and being an orphan is going to leave one viewing their matriarchal boss as some sort I'd surrogate mother type.

I just watched For Your Eyes Only, was it ever explained why the girl left her oxygen tank on the ocean floor or did I miss it?

No reason was given so it was a Deus Ex Machina.

I don't even know if that's what I'm looking for in a Moore Bond movie considering Live and Let Die is the only film of his I really enjoy.

The gun was gone too son. I was certain Silva would pick it up at the final fight, giving Bond the opportunity to shoot him with his own vintage gun.

I had assumed Silva would be the hand in his own demise, trying to kill Bond with his gun, and then it won't kill, as it is coded to 007's palm print. But, what would be a Bond movie if 007 didn't mess up the gadgets Q gives him? :oldrazz:

It could fall into freezing waters.
