James Bond In Skyfall - - - Part 12

I can't see them bringing references to quantum back just due to it's association with quantum of solace.

Critics have been merciless when talking about that film lately. I mean worst bond film lists, critics telling you to forget it ever existed etc. I think that's a lot of bs personally it is a decent film when viewed as a CR companion piece.

You can either choose to ignore QoS or fix the things that simply didn't work (like giving them a leader even if you can only see part of him).
I think QoS would have worked so much better if there was a guy in the shadows giving the orders and then in Bond 24 you reveal who that man was.

Personally I hope they kill Quantum and just do Specter as chances are the general audience know who Specter is and certainly know who Blofold is.

Seems like overkill to bring back SPECTRE when they already have a perfectly good evil organization established within Craig's continuity.

Yeah I'd say bring back Quantum and if Bond 24 rocks it could retroactively improve the reputation of QoS somewhat.

Agreed. I would like to see Quantum return. They did establish them and drawing on Craig's second film, which while I think is ok and not terrible like some claim, would give the movie added purpose and relevance. It's a short film and sort of feels awkwardly bunched in between two 2.5 hour epics.

Well people are aging well these days. Tom Cruise is 50 and he looks/acts younger than his actual age and we don't think twice about it. It's as long as it believable.

It's actually kind of crazy how many male actors are around 50 now but totally not looking it with Cruise, Brad Pitt, and of course Johnny Depp.

On the other hand there is Nic Cage.

Improving Quantum would indeed retroactively improve QoS as people would say, 'poor movie but it introduced a good shadow organisation'.

Depp has visited the fountain of youth with ironically he does in Pirates 4.

I hope Craig does at least two more Bond films. After that, I think it will be time to pass the torch. Who would you guys like to see as the next James Bond? Here are some actors that I think could handle the role...

1. Michael Fassbender
2. Philip Winchester
3. Henry Cavill
4. Richard Madden
5. Charlie Hunnam
.

Ha, the outcry over an American being cast as Bond would be delicious.

I approve of your list, minus Hunnam. Assuming he wouldn't take over for another 5-10 years, Madden could be very good, but he's definitely gotta shed some of that boyishness first. Another couple of "youngsters" who I think have that same potential given a few years are Tom Weston-Jones and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. Both are 25-years-old, but to me, they seem older. By the time they're in their early 30's, I think they could make for decent Bond candidates.

Actually I think Phillip Winchester does the best English accent by an American actor I've ever heard. I was shocked when I found out that Sgt Stonebridge in Strike Back was played by a Yank.

Loved Skyfall! Just saw it this past weekend.

As others have mentioned, I think they should bring back Quantum for the next film, and finally show the mastermind behind the organization. They need to cast an incredible actor for the role, although it will hard to top Bardem's performance. He was sooo good in this one!

But at least it could nicely tie up CR and QoS. I guess I'm in the minority, but I've loved all three of Craig's films, couldn't say that with the Brosnan ones. I thought those went downhill gradually from Goldeneye.

I would not mind seeing Blofeld at all. Now that tjey are dealing with enemies more in the shadows, Blofeld in a modern interpretation would be very interesting. Silva was our gateway to that, now let's see how further they could go.

Yeah, no kidding. However, I saw an interview with him where he said that grew up back and forth between the U.S. and England, because I believe his mother is English. So he can switch accents easily.

It's funny too because Sullivan Stapleton (Damien Scott) is an Aussie, yet I never would have guessed it from watching Strike Back. He plays a cocky American SO well it's crazy.

Side note, watching the two of them on that show is sort of like seeing James Bond split into two people. Stonebridge is like the hard-nosed assassin Bond persona that Craig and Dalton did so well, and Scott is like the cocky, womanizing, save-the-world-but-enjoy-the-hell-out-of-myself-while-doing-it persona that Connery, Brosnan and Moore did.

BTW I hate the fact that in America, Strike Back Season 2 was brought over and marketed as Season 1! Stupid.

I get your point, but Dalton was 41 when The Living Daylights came out. Brosnan was 42 when GoldenEye was released.

There's a discrepency on Wikipedia as to when he was born. Either 1944 or 1946, so he may have been 43. If the '46 date is correct, then yes you're right.

i like Craig, and hopefully he does at least 2-3 more Bond films

just as long as he doesn't pull a Moore and do these films well into his late 50s

my pick to take over as Bond is Jack Huston (Richard Harrow from Boardwalk Empire)

I don't have a problem with him doing films in his 50's providing that the movies don't suck like Moore's did. I thought Moore was fine in the role, durring Octapussy and A View to a Kill, but the movies sucked, and they had become parodies of Bond films.

I like Moore's portrayal of Bond, but the script writers decided to make them clownish, even having him dress up as a clown!

Well, to be fair, Strike Back Season 1 was only six episodes and featured an entirely different cast, except for Richard Armitage who
was killed in the first episode of Season 2
.

So it's almost like a different series.

You'd look like a mess too is someone stole your Action Comics #1.

I feel to end this series of films, Craig's Bond, would be to actually kill him off in the last film he makes. Would be very different and would lead better into a mother actor taking over a role with less ties to the previous...

I don't know, I think they could pull it of magnificently.

1- Vesper
2- Mathis
3- M
4- ????
5- Bond

Plus, for me Craig is Bond. Having someone come in after him without a solid "finish" would be like someone trying to be Batman after Bale while Bruce is still alive.

Bond has about as good a chance of dying on screen as batman does and if batman could survive TDKR, bond ain't dying either...spoiler alert?

No you don't kill Bond. But I do wonder if Jack Bauer will bite it in the 24 movie due to come out.

Is that still happening? Are there really that many people looking to see 24 as a movie at this point?

I got bored with the show around it's 4th season or so.

Yes they are shooting the film in summer 2013. But it's not going to be a blockbuster or anything. But there is a built in fan base, so if they can keep production costs down, it should be successful.

Yes really stupid. The first season with Richard Armitage and Andrew Lincoln was brilliant.

Well that explains why his English accent is excellent then. Also I agree it is like the producers of the show decided to split Bond up into two people lol...

I saw the movie for a second time today. It was just as good as the first time I saw it. Definitely my favorite of Craig's three Bond movies.

I enjoyed Severine's character more than I did the first time. There was potential there for her character but she ends up as the Jill Masterson/Paris Carver/ Fields type Bond woman. The sacrificial lamb who is killed after a brief association with Bond.
