James Bond In Skyfall - Part 3

Moore's movies aren't bad, but they are just hard for me to get into after devouring Connery's.

I really enjoy Dalton's performances just because of how cold and vicious he is at times.

Brosnan's Bond IMHO fell way too much into self-parody oftentimes. Just the epitome of excess and silliness. I enjoyed the first couple of movies but after that it started getting ridiculous IMHO. He also didn't have great chemistry with the female leads I think.

oh god no please

granted I have only seen him in captain america, but he came across as a very poor stage actor in that
His American accent was rather dodgy in Captain America but I don't really judge acting talent on summer blockbuster movies as they don't usually have actors best performances. Dominic Coopers was good in movies like Starter For Ten, The Devils Double and An Education.

Brosnan's movies almost seem like fan-fic Bond. It tries to hit all the beats and is very generic and bland. He doesn't really seem to be playing Bond but an image of what people perceive of Bond. In that sense, for all the humanity Brosnan tried to imbue his Bond with, he actually seems the least human. He's more like a cardboard cut out, because he's not making the role his own but trying to be both Connery and Moore. He's almost the equivalent of an Elvis impersonator.

I know who should play a dark haired Bond after Craig.....Richard Armitage

I wouldn't mind Armitage although I think he would make a pretty good Bond Villain as well.

Another video of Roger Moore playing James Bond before he became Bond.

Wow. Slapstick really can be hit and miss, can't it?

I think it is unfortunate that after the stellar Goldeneye as his debut in the 007 franchise, he never reached the same height again. I think EON should've been blamed for not doing enough to give Brosnan better movies to work with, because I think he has the charm and the suave look of a spy, but he can also do the action scenes convincingly. Even Craig can attest that no matter how good the actor is, they cannot rescue a bad movie.

I think Brosnan is one of those chaps who softened with age quite quickly. In Goldeneye, he seemed lean but threatening in a cat-like way, just as Bond should be. But from TND onwards, he seemed to morph into Hugh Grant.

Craig is not so classically handsome, but he has one of those rugged faces that will probably look much the same at 50 as it did at 30.

Craig is great as bond but after 'That' scene in first class Fassbender is the only choice to follow Craig. Though i'd like to see Fassbender as Batman too. Oh and Robocop.

Just put fassbender in everything.

I really don't mind where he is on the spectrum of dark-blonde.

As long as he isn't ginger or anything like that.

Isn't Fassbender ginger? One of the female posters over on the X-MFC boards was saying he was.

Man, i was wathcing XMFC again the other night, the truly remarkable moment in the Argentina bar scene is how good that tall glass of beer looks, ahhhhh, German beer is actually really good, I used to drink that stuff Budvar on occasion, y'know, the stuff that Budweiser tried to get permission to licence, but didn't, so just copied the name.

I'm watching You Only Live Twice, I can't believe how much of a influence this movie was to The Incredibles! The entire set, the launching, those travelling metal bubbles, the underground lair, I even noticed the same song (later covered by Michael Giacchino).

You Only Live Twice isn't the best Connery Bond film but it's fun and strangely underrated due to the fact it's visuals have been very influential in pop culture. (The Incredibles, Austin Powers, The Simpsons - Hank Scorpio, parodies, etc)

Michael Fassbender is the ideal choice to replace Daniel Craig. He's a throwback to `60s Bond. If you liked him in "X-Men" then wait till you see him in "Shame." Even when playing a pervert he can charm the pants out of anyone.

People need to realize that the reason why the Bond franchise has lasted 50 years is because of diversity. You need to shake it up in order to keep it fresh. After Daniel Craig's tough-as-nails Bond, you need someone who'll return the character to its British gentlemen roots. And, Fassbender is the guy for the job.

But I can't see Fass being dirty and i kind of like that about Craig's Bond he gets his hand dirty and his fighting style is really like bourne

Fassbender doesn't have to copy Craig's style exactly, and he has more than enough qualities to be considered as the next James Bond after Craig.

My choice for Bond.

I have no doubt that Fassbender would make a great Bond. However, I quite like it when they go outside the box of the obvious choices. And sometimes it is those choices that deliver the more memorable performances. That's still not to say that Fassbender couldn't make the role his own.

I think there's so many YOLT homages in other films because it's really the first Bond film to start toying with the more outlandish elements that the series ultimately became famous for. The previous 3 films had some fantastical moments but for the most part were far more grounded in comparison.

Fixed. :oldrazz:

Very true. YOLT was the movie that pushed the Bond movies into self-parody and outlandishness.

I find YOLT to be the best Bond film visually as Lewis Gilbert does an excellent job at making Japan visually appealing. The scene where all of them are in the Sea of Japan is the most visually beautiful scene in the Bond series cinematography wise, and is only matched by the Egypt scenes in The Spy Who Loved Me (also directed by Lewis Gilbert).

^ Ah, I forgot about Thunderball.

Don't forget that excellent helicopter shot of Bond on the roof fighting off the agents in YOLT.
