James Bond In Skyfall - Part 3

I've always thought Jamiroquai would make a good Bond theme. They have that 70's soundtrack vibes that worked very well in songs like "Main Vein".
If I'm not mistaken they were up for one of the Pierce Brosnan films.

Jinx is only there because her first shot is of her in a bikini.

First "Skyfall" set pictures

Is that from the actual movie, or just Craig arriving on set?

Bond Girls: The Best and the Worst

Jinx and Tiffany Case among the best? ORLY, EW? :o

That's a dumb list. Jinx belongs in the worst category, as does Tiffany Case probably. I can't believe EW considers Octopussy amongst the worst. And Rosa Klebb among the best?

And why does Craig have a bandage around his head already, before filming has barely gotten under way?

I don't think that's a bandage. It looks like the reflection of something...

Sure does, in that first pic...i don't see it at all in the other two.

Oh, Entertainment Weekly, you and your ludicrous lists. I certainly wouldn't put Jinx on the "Best" list, or Octopussy on the "Worst," either, and Rosa Klebb's inclusion is just baffling. My own picks:

BEST
1. Eva Green as Vesper Lynd - She may not be the action heroine that Wai Lin or Jinx were, but Bond has never had a truer equal. She may not have been Mrs. James Bond, but Bond never had a greater love, or a greater match. Daniel Craig and Eva Green are electric together onscreen.

2. Barbara Bach as Major Anya Amasova

3. Sophie Marceau as Elektra King

4. Diana Rigg as Teresa Di Vicenzo

5. Michelle Yeoh as Wai Lin

6. Luciana Paluzzi as Fiona Volpe

7. Famke Janssen as Xenia Onatopp

8. Honor Blackman as ***** Galore

9. Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder

10. Claudine Auger as Domino

WORST
1. Britt Ekland as Mary Goodnight - I don't think any Bond girl has ever been more thoroughly useless.

2. Jill St. John as Tiffany Case - Initially, there are gestures toward a clever, fun character here - and by the end of the movie she's just a bikini on an oil rig.

3. Tanya Roberts as Stacey Sutton - Shrill, boring, and laughable paired with Roger Moore.

4. Gloria Hendry as Rosie Carver- Couldn't she have been a little competent?

5. Corinne Clery as Corinne Dufour - The scene where Drax sends his dogs after her is chilling and very well crafted, but Corinne herself is just another non-entity victim character.

6. Mie Hama as Kissy (not named in the film, by the way) - None of the Bond girls in You Only Live Twice are particularly compelling, but here's the dullest.

7. Lois Chiles as Dr. Holly Goodhead - Moonraker is merely a rehash of The Spy Who Loved Me with marginal differences, and here they tried to recapture the bantering energy Moore and Barbara Bach had, with no success whatsoever.

8. Talisa Soto as Lupe Lamora - Beautiful woman, weak character. Merely another "kept woman."

9. Denise Richards as Dr. Christmas Jones - This one doesn't bother me as much as it seems to bother most fans, as I accept the utter ridiculousness (it is a Bond movie, after all), but still, it is Denise Richards playing a nuclear physicist named Christmas Jones...which isn't even a good cheeky double entendre.

10. Gemma Arterton as Agent (Strawberry) Fields - It's not Arterton's fault, but it is a useless character, barely there. And am I forgetting, or was she never even referred to as "Strawberry Fields?" Don't name her Strawberry Fields if you're not going to mention it!

Solid list, although I'd rank Tracy as #1 and Tatiana Romanova as #2.

Jinx was one of the worst Bond girls ever. Truly terrible.

Which I get, and I had Tracy as my #2, but then I had to be honest with myself: 1) I don't love OHMSS as much as most Bond fans, and 2) I would rather watch The Spy Who Loved Me right now for Anya alone, or The World Is Not Enough for Elektra alone, than I would watch OHMSS for Tracy alone. In a heartbeat.

Nice to see filming started a few days early. Can't wait to see more set photos coming.

I like Carey Lowell as Pam in License To Kill. I think she's my favorite.

Glad the name is confirmed.

As to the best Bond Girl issue. I see there as being 2 significant women marking very important periods in his life. Vesper's betrayal left him hard and cold, the Bond most of us love. As well as helped cement his reputation as one tough bastard who doesn't let up.

Tracy represents a re-humanizing of Bond. It softened him, left him volnerable. After her death we all saw how things spiraled out of contole. From top agent to rounding up petty thugs like Scaramanga in Jamaica.

Both women are great, hard for me to rank anyone with them. Maybe Honeychile Ryder creeps in there because he did pay her medical bills, or Mary Goodnight since they have been on and off for years.

From the film. You can see they set up a camera in the car

I have a feeling the car's going to get ambushed. Probably the moment where M's life is at stake.

Is Bond rocking a beard this time?

I'd love for The National or Modest Mouse to do a Bond Theme...
