Shirley Bassey sung some of the best openings and I think if anyone right now can return that type of grace to the intro songs it would most definitely be Adele.

Look up Shirley Bassey & The Propeller Heads - -"History repeating" . I've been listening to it quit a bit lately, and it sounds very 'Bond appropriate'.
I'm sure people complained even more when M was cast as a woman. If this place existed in the early 90's there would have been an outcry. Honestly, what's the big deal with a younger Q? These days it would be more appropriate for the younger set to be more tech savvy anyway.
I can see the concern with the whole annoying techie comic relief thing, which is valid. But I think the change makes sense and could even shed new light on the character. Why is change such a bad thing for people?
I don't have any problem with a different Bond/Q dynamic. Judi Dench's M had a different vibe with Bond than Bernard Lee yet it worked on it's own.
Desmond Llewelyn's Q is one of my favorite film characters of all time but I'm excited at the prospect of a new, different, fun dynamic between a new Q and Craig's Bond.

Yep he called Romola Garai's character Moneypenny![]()
Fun fact: Whishaw's character in the BBC drama "The Hour" was a fan of Ian Fleming's James Bond novels.
The third set photograph from behind the scenes of the new James Bond film "Skyfall" has been released on the official @007 Twitter feed, and reveals what seems to be a Chinese location. It was confirmed previously that the film will feature sequences in Shanghai, although this interior is actually being filmed at Pinewood Studios.

Above: Scene 64 will be an interior filmed at night.
Fans are speculating that this is a nightclub, probably based on the neon lighting. It follows a few scenes on from a previous set photo which was also a night shoot but set in a gloomy industrial office.
Look closely and you will spot that if the lettering is reversed (assuming the shot is from the wrong side of the glass), the last two lines start 'QU.... INTE...' Quantum was not supposed to be returning for this film...
I hope they keep the cg out of this one. The scene where Bond and Mitchell fall off the bell tower and through the glass, really took me out of the movie.

I think it was ok for a female M in the mid 90's because like you said women were taking over the workforce, i mean MI-5 had a female boss at the time of GoldenEye which Judi Denchs M is based on...I agree, to a degree but if M had been younger than Bond.....? The fact that she was a woman is still quite fitting, seeing as how woman are vastly taking over the workforce, compared to when Bond first appeared in the '60s.
You know in this rebooted series i cant imagine Craigs Bond being a Commander in the Royale Navy, i see him more as being recruited from the Royale Marines, SAS or SBS....I agree with you.Bond Is suspose to have been In the navy before being recruited into MI6 with rank of COmmander when he left navy yet so far we have had no Indected that Bond In second series has that background.
Hunter Rider just curious but are you English?I'm not sure who Matt Smith is but I'm guessing the Time lord stuff is something to do with Doctor Who?
The thing is one of the charms of the old Q/Bond dynamic was the advice and wisdom Q would try to pass on to the reckless Bond. I never cared much for Cleese in the role, however a guy that looks 18 trying to be anything other than comic relief to Craig's hardened Bond wont work IMO, and I'm really not interested in Bond doing the whole "I don't understand this tech" shtick while a kid marvels him with his Xbox generation speak, I don't think it fits the tone established for the new Bond.
