The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Jamie Foxx IS Electro - Part 4

I'm sure Jamie Foxx will do good, but Electro was always a sh**ty ass villain. It doesn't help they turned him into Dr. Manhattan.

Electro is a villain with limitless possibilities. He just never had much of a backstory, which they pretty much gave him here, not to mention I really LOVE the design. So whatever.

He certainly gives off the creepy vibe. His "lets catch a spider" line was quite menacing. And he nukes Time's Square, so there's that.

Sevenwebheads put up this video a few day ago called "Jamie Foxx Responds To Electro Haters, Talks About Costume & More"

Some very well made points and Foxx says he doesn't want electro to be a funny, more tragic and angry at the world

Nice.I think you should put this in the main discussion thread as well just to get the discussion going on the topic.

I'm much more interested in Electro now that he'll have a real background & a look that's actually badass. It also helps that Jamie Foxx is in the role because he's a very capable actor & I fully expect him to bring his A game to this role.

Electro wasn't given a backstory until the 1990s, where they introduced his mother and talked about how he was a "loser." These things were incorporated into the 2003 MTV series and TSSM, about Max being an outcast and wanting revenge. I'm glad they are using those elements for Electro in TASM2!

Well he destroys times square, so he probably does.

I'm pretty sure we see electro disintegrate people in the TS footage no?

I don't think he disintegrates people, but I know he is shooting electricity towards people running on the ground.

It looks like he disintegrates two people to me.

Its happening so fast that I'm having trouble seeing it. I mean I can see what it is you are referring to, but its hard for me to tell if he is actually disintegrating people or not.

Yeah, it's difficult to see if he actually does hit a couple of people. He's firing in the direction of people but I can't make it out if it actually zaps a few of them.

Here watch sevenwebheads vid he slow's it down a little bit. Skip to 1:17

After seeing that 3 minute trailer, I am definitely sold on Electro. Not that I wasn't before, I was indifferent. But I'm definitely into him now. Love his voice, and the special effects for him are excellent.

I think Electro is the only one (so far) of the villains to look promising visually.Lizard was underwhelming,Rhino looks like a Transformer and the Goblin could be called "The Keebler Elf" since his costume has about as much in common with that than the comic look.

Yea i agree , just touching on max . I felt so sorry for him , the outcast that thinks he's a nobody. Then Spiderman gives him that glimmer of hope (that scene was great btw) then he starts to go abit bunny boiler. His transition to Electro will be great to watch, looks like Jamie did a great job :yay:

Don't care much for GG either, but the tiny bit I've seen from Rhino I've liked. It's still a "rhino" ate the end of the day, and those missiles are pretty rad... I hope he still charges at people, though.

I'll bet a shiny buck that when Spidey defeats Electro it'll have something to do with that awkward chip thingy he's got on his head. I don't know if something has been revealed about that, but I can't think of another reason for him to be wearing it.

Agreed. I love the convincing amount of depth that was brought to the character. This iteration is going to make Electro a lot more serious of a villain, which I love. Plus his design is just badass. :wow:

I still have hope for the Green Goblin, but I doubt they'll give him anything too close to the classic look since that will probably be saved for Norman.

I'm not going to call him Green Goblin until it says it in the end credits. I think he'll be more of a Proto-Goblin.

As of now, I refer to him as either "The Gobliln" or "Proto-Goblin."

Yeah, I refer to him as "Goblin", with the expectation that the "Proto" part may be confirmed somehow.
