Correct. That scene is part of the flashback sequence in which The Joker "turns" her.

He's wearing the same outfit from the set pictures in which he gets out of his car and slaps Harleen Quinzel (with blonde hair, wearing glasses and a blue shirt). I think that shot of them in the acid is very cool and somewhat symbolic.

Yup. If executed well, it should be a very powerful scene.

I think that's Ike Barinholtz's character that Joker's got a hold of there.

It looks like Joker is relishing the **** out of that Batchase.

slim will tell you himself, he gets the joke. good to see you again though!

What's up between you two? :yd1:

The grills make sense to me, obviously something happened, was it Batman or something else? Maybe the tats have their reason too, but in any case, it doesn't take anything away from Leto's performance, if he's indeed as great as it seems, the public will love this Joker.

I'll be honest, while the whole Leto joker package (tats, grills, clothing, etc) is not something I ever hoped for or predicted for this version, I am absolutely loving it all at this point. From what I can tell, it all comes together really well.

He's everything The Joker should be. Creepy, gaudy, deranged, over-the-top, violent, unhinged, and a showman. A tattoo doesn't change or take away from any of that. And while the same people have gone on and on about how distracting the tattoos and grills are, how perfect his look would be if it didn't have those things, I disagree.

If you're talking about a strict adaptation/translation of The Joker's comic book appearance, then yes, it would be just about "perfect" and "comic accurate" without those things. However, in this case, I'm starting to actually feel that they add something to his whole aesthetic. It all just clicks, especially when seeing him in action. It's something that gives him a distinct, unique look compared to previous iterations, but overall, he's still very much "The Joker" we all know and love.

spot on

He looks legitimately terrifying.

Call me crazy, but for some reason, he reminds me of Voldemort in this shot.

He looks way better than Voldemort IMO. The way Voldemort looked and was portrayed in those movies was terrible and laughable IMO. They turned him into a comedy villain. In the books he was the opposite, I actually found him to be quite scary.

Ralph Fiennes notwithstanding, Voldemort's appearance was underwhelming.

Joker looks genuinely creepy.

So I was just informed that Joker isn't on the squad itself. Do we know what role he plays in this?

I actually think he's the one they have to stop...

Just a hunch.

Selling toys, I guess. Just look at how he slaps that guy's face. Marketing, son.

I think most of all, he's going to serve as a character in Harley's story as opposed to the overall plot of the film.

Interesting. To me they still take away from the look. They feel like an attempt to be different for the sake of being different, as opposed to a look that meshes with the characterization (so much as I've seen). Heath's look made sense the more I saw of his take.

Leto, on the other hand, seems to be more and more classic comic Joker, so his performance thus far has actually made the tats and grills seem even more out of place for me.

Spot on

Just by going off of this trailer... Leto's Joker just feels more like the comic version than any other interpretation. There's something about his mannerisms, demeanor that really sells it. The tattoos still suck but I'm over them and I won't notice them if Leto's performance is that ****ing good.
