I don't think anyone at WB doesn't know that. They all know and understand The Joker. Probably even better than some of you. They simply made the conscious decision of offering us a very different Joker than what we're used to. This time it didn't work.

I have yet to see the film but I support it. I am really interested in hearing a little about this Jokers back story and how he ended up this way. We know he fell in acid, as always, but how and why and what did it do to him exactly. How much of his look is because of the acid and how much is his creation.
Also someone on another board mentioned that JaredJoker doesn't have the drawn on elongated smile.

Disagreed, movie making money not mean he was good or movie was good. Leto Joker hardly in it and even he unhappy most of his scenes cut out.

I think you're right. Suqad has made a lot of $$ and the soundtrack is #1 plus all the merch is exploding off the racks. DC's most successful movie yet!! It didn't feel right after I left the theatre but the results are undeniable.

It had no chance to work. WB dosent understand anything. They continue to prove that. Leto didnt "work" cause WB screwed it. Also, Ayer was not the guy to make this movie. I was hoping that with the changing of seats and Geoff Johns coming in, that he wouldnt let this kind of continued butchering happen. Hopefully he will in the future. Maybe the original cut is good??? Or one of the shot down cuts???? leto is cut down and out to such a degree that accepting him and getting it, is impossible. Chris Nolan is the kind of guy with enough behind him to tell the studio "this is mine, now get out" he has earned that.. Ayer is "cool" but he can be used. This is perfect for WB and marketing. I can go on and on. But i believe that Leto's Joker is amazing... And i cant stand the guy.... But we need a director and a script that cant be touched... Ayer wrote his in 6 weeks... This is no good. WB needs to figure it out before we chase them out of town with pitchforks

Take it with a grain of salt, but the 4Chan rumours (which have so far confirmed Dafoe and now Manganiello in the DCEU) has a Joker cameo in Justice League and him being relegated to the sidelines again as a supporting/subplot character (along with Harley) in The Batman solo.

Now the JL cameo actually sounds fun reading the description, but I really hope we get a meatier role for the Joker in a future DCEU film the last thing we need is another 10 minute walk on, especially in the Batman movie.

Eh, that kind of thing is to be expected when you start the story 10+ years into Batman's career. A lot of major events just plain can't be anything but history and flashback.
