Miss Regwec loves this show. The Joker costume is generic-leaning-towards Ledgery, but as a pairing the SS influence is clear.

Only select hardcore Batman fans hate Leto's Joker. Generally, he seems pretty popular or at least very well liked across the board.

Ironically, though, all of the guys who try to be Leto's Joker just look ridiculous. The women, on the other hand, have done phenomenal jobs recreating the look. The guys just look like background characters from '90's grunge films.

I think that's partly because, far more so than Nicholson or Ledger's Jokers, Leto's actually looks like Leto.

Disagreed. This year I see a lot of female Ghostbuster movie costumes and Google say it one of most searched costumes for 2016 but it not mean they cult status.

Then you'd be wrong. Harley Quinn is number one as the most popular costume & Joker is number two. When I checked the list, nothing Ghostbuster related was even in the top 10.

When the general audience has accepted a performance and there are dozens and dozens of videos of people trying to imitate the look of said character in addition to thousands dressing up as that same character, you've reached cult status.

Well it was encouraging to see Leto posting all those Joker halloween pics by fans on his Instagram. I know he said a lot depended on the fan response in regards to whether he would return, and he seemed pretty bummed out by a lot of the online hate at his Camp Mars talk.

So maybe he realises he has more fan support for the role then he thinks.

I don't think we've seen Leto's Joker yet. SS was just a teaser so he has to give it a full performance with context where Joker is the focus before reading into fan comments.

Random tidbit but going forward, while I have no more reservations with the tattoos and metal caps, I hope there's a lot less jewelry. In watching certain scenes (like the lab) it's far more distracting than it should be. They should keep him as formal as possible (i.e the tuxedo).
