well, if there's one thing dc can do is do darkseid before we see thanos on screen. then they don't look like copycats.

what would have been cool is if, like in the watchmen, where ozymandias destroys then rebuilds new york, have a signs of gotham's reconstruction with wayne enterprises and lex corp banners if bane destroys gotham in tdkr.

another thing i think they can do is, have the JL start after the death of superman, have them all team up after he dies fighting doomsday, then have him return for darkseid.

I don't think we'll see Darkseid anytime soon,
especially since there's no guarantee that we'll be getting MOS2 whereas TA2 is not just assumed but according to Feige, likely to come out in 2015. There's no way that Darkseid will show up before Thanos.

If THE AVENGERS continues to clean up at the box office, unless THE DARK KNIGHT RISES makes a billion dollars AND THE MAN OF STEEL makes a billion dollars...and that remains his attitude, I'd say he can expect to find himself without any further control of DC properties fairly soon.

I would imagine there would be no such stipulation with the future Batman franchise, and I highly doubt Henry Cavill's Superman being forbidden to appear in a future JLA film is written in stone.

Well, wasn't Chris Nolan tasked to "grandfather" MOS? Maybe he intended MOS to be kept in its separate universe as his Batman films, and besides isn't his brother Jonathan one of the writers for the movie?

And Snyder has said that Superman is the only hero...and that may well be for MAN OF STEEL. Plans can change.

They could keep the storylines in a separate universe, just use the same actors for a JL movie? I mean they don't really have to mention any of it so that they would be connected to one another.

Cyborg vs J'onn for JL

I vote J'onn but Im just asking since Cyborg is a founding member in the New 52

What about a JSA film? Couldn't that be done instead. I mean I know the general audience doesn ot know anything about them but the first film itself can be a origin film giving us some insight on the superheroes.

What would the line-up be? Jay and Alan would obviously be out since Barry and Hal are the faces of the Flash and Green Lantern franchises at the moment.

They don't necessarily have to the "Flash" and "Green Lantern", though. Jay is known as Cyclone is a lot of places, and Alan was once Sentinel.

James Robinson's "Earth-2" could be an interesting source of inspiration.

I'd like to see the JSA done as a period film.

Dont even put the thoughts in their heads!

I wish more fanboys would understand this

On competition with DC and whether he roots against or for the competition to succeed----

Feige: But the truth is I root for every single one, whether it’s our movies or not, because while you and I know the difference between who publishes what, I’ve been in supermarket checkout lines where one of our characters is on the cover of a magazine, somebody says, “Is Green Lantern in The Avengers? Is Aquaman in that one too?” People don’t know. So I want them all to be great.

Chris Nolan’s Batman is the greatest thing that happened because it bolstered everything. Imagine the one-two punch in 2008 of Iron Man and Dark Knight? It was great. Six years earlier I was having conversations with studio execs where they’d say, “Why don’t you come work for us? These comic book movies can’t last forever. It’s probably towards the tail end.” And I, being with big bright-eyed naiveté would go, “I don’t know, I think we can do more. I think there’s more fun to be had.”

Cyborg will always be a Teen Titan/Titan to me.

I'm sure there's character and story potential there, but in my mind, forcing him into the "
"original" JLA is one of the dumbest things DC has done. I really hope whoever makes JUSTICE LEAGUE doesn't include Cyborg in the lineup. Godlike superheroes, a mortal...and a robot/cyborg who covers much of the same ground as Batman? Meh. Give me J'onn J'onnz, Aquaman or The Atom any day.

Until WB can do a successful solo film aside from Batman I do not think they will dare to try JL. WB knows the huge risk invovled.

TA is huge because Marvel built a solid foundation with InMan, Cap and Thor. The GA knows and ikes these characters. A built in huge draw for TA.

JL has none of that. It could turn out to be a disaster for WB. I don't think WB is going to go all crazy now that TA may make a billion and quickly greenlight a JL. That is the last thing they should do and I think tey realize it.

people keep predicting the superhero movie bubble burst and it's stronger than ever. can't last forever though as you can only do so many archetypes before everything is regurgitated.

I think green lantern was definately the wrong movie to open with.
if they'd gone with the flash the movie could have been made much cheaper and with barry's forensic science background they could type into the CSI general audience (which is huge).

green lantern was weird and other worldly and you DON'T open with that.
that would have been like marvel opening with thor rather than iron man.

I agree Flash would have been a better start folowed then by WW or GL.

Marvel has 3 beloved characters - to audiences - and 3 actors portraying them that have been embraced in the roles.

WB won't have that. Bale is not going to do J or another Batman.

So to do a JL film anytime soon they'd need new actors portraying characters never seen on screen before.

It's potentially a recipe for disaster.

Then with TA and TA2 in 2015 a lot of the first time done on screen stuff will not be available to JL.

WB needs to focus for the next 5 - 10 years on getting several succesful solo franchises and relaunching Batman. Then take a look at doing JL.

No offense, but. . . why not? We still have romantic comedies, thrillers, horror movies. . .

Super Heroes may eventually lose momentum, certainly. . . but I don't think they are ever really going to go away, not now. At the very worst, they could end up like westerns: faded out, full *decades* after their hey day, but with new ones still coming out every couple of years.

They won't, though. Given the current and apparent future grossing of Avengers, I think they are going to try and rush out a JLA movie by 2015 at the latest, maybe even 2014. And for being so rushed, its going to be awful.

DC's plan to combat avengers will be putting out another JLA animated movie, lol.

In all seriousness, I agree, I think they are going to rush to 'compete' with Marvel/Avengers and that will be their doom.

yeah, i don't get why there's a proverbial bubble hanging over super hero movies. you'll always have great films that people will see, some that won't, and others that are garbage that some will and won't see, whether its a superhero film or not.

You guys think WB getting Nolan to direct a JL movie is out of the question? I know he said he's done after TDKR, but they really can't afford to lose the only man who has given them a successful modern day superhero trilogy.

well its not as if they're kicking him out. I'm sure its something they've talked to him about. but i doubt he'd be up for it.

Keep up the quality and they'll stay. It's only going to be a problem if they start releasing too many per year. I think the GA now has a sustainable slot for at least 2 great comic films a year.
