^ The Dark Knight Rises is expected to make roughly the same numbers as The Avengers. And even if they decide to have Justice League. There's nothing to say that it'll be awful. We don't know their plans.

And Justice League doesn't "need" individual movies to be good. Superman and Batman are in it, and they're famous enough to attract the public. Wonder Woman, Flash and Green Lantern could easily be introduced in the movie, though I wouldn't mind another Green Lantern and The Flash.

Marvel Studios' model is excellent, but it isn't the only possible way that movies about a team of superheroes can be done.

TA is specualted to mak 1.2 billion at Guru. No way do I see TDKR doing that kind of number. It will likely come in under billion. TA should handilly defeat it at the BO.

Batman is WB's superhero epic.

Expectations are that it'll surpass The Avengers' numbers in the opening weekend. Not to mention the word of mouth that it'll generate if it's as good as people are expecting.

And Green Lantern wasn't a response to Iron Man's success, really. It was being discussed since 2006, and when it was produced, they did try to use Iron Man as an inspiration to create a more lighthearted movie, with humor and action, but people didn't like it.

If you don't properly introduce those characters they get relegated to second fiddlers and they become a distraction to the main course. Wonder Woman NEEDS a film. I think Marvel had a tough time fitting Thor into the MCU, but they made it believable. Wasn't perfect but they worked in fantasy into the superhero world. WB needs to use that as a model and make it work.

Flash, I wouldn't say needs a film. Maybe a major animated motion picture or motion capture, but sometimes that is more of a hassle than live action. I think he is similar to Ant Man in that regard.

Green Lantern, don't know. They don't have to use Hal Jordan again so it might work. Best to shed that continuity but at least take advantage of the universe you brought to light in that film. Too bad nobody watched the film. I haven't even got through that entire film.

No way WB will have JL go head to head with TA2 in 2015. I'm just waiting for the official confirmation date for TA2. Will they pick a weekend this far in advance of 2015.

Spidey 2 is set for 2015 also. Have they picked a specific date.

Given that 2015 is out there is no way they can do a JL film in 2014 at this late date. Given everything would have to be done from scratch. Which is good. Rushing JL will turn into a disaster for WB. GL was a reaction to IronMan's success and look what happened.

Spidey in May 2015 is a good appetizer. Avengers 2 will take the late June or mid July spot unless WB or another studio has another mega-franchise in that spot. Avatar 2 might get pushed back so you have that possibility.

I don't think it's better. I'm just saying it's possible, because I consider Wonder Woman one of the most difficult characters to make a movie about. Thor isn't that hard, actually.

Didn't realize IronMan 3 was for 2013.

It's looking like Marvel will make 3 films/year for the immediate future.

They have been spacing then at 2 years between sequels. However, a they get more successul solo franchises they will either have to move to 4 films/year or make it 3 years between sequls.

At this rate Marvel could have 7, 8, 9 successful franchises going by 2016 or 2017.

I figure Captain America 2 would be the May opener but they wanted some cushion and went April. After seeing Hunger Games numbers it makes sense. Hopefully Cap avoids the Hunger Games sequel.

But Summer 2014 isn't playing out strong for superheroes. It COULD if Spiderman is fast tracked or they give Hulk another shot.

The next batman movie MUST work within the JLA universe. I don't see Bales batman working in that world. Ideally MOS would be able to work in a JLA flick. And the next Batman should be able to fit into the MOS.

Wonder woman totally needs her own movie, it should come out around the same time of the next Batman. Then, I know you hate it, reboot GL. Or more like a do-over. Pull out ALL the stops, this needs to be THE film that leads into the JLA movie.

Then in the JLA movie introduce Flash, have him be the cool guy people would LOVE to see a solo movie of.

Bob 's y'r uncle, Fanny 's y'r aunt. Voila JLA movie to rival the Avengers.

MoS is being set up to be it's own separate world, just as Bale's Batman was.

My bet is that the reboot Batman will be a seperate entity as well.


Unless WB creates it's own studio for DC Comics properties, there will never be a shared universe between films. It's nearly impossible the way WB is structured now.

JL doesn't need set up and if WB/DC waste time setting up the individual movies they are making a mistake (imho).

I claim that WW and Flash NEED solo films. They are the only DC superheroes left to HAVE to be made into blockbuster adaptions. They are too big icons in DC's stable to be overlooked. Each of them is more important than both Aquaman, Green Arrow and Hawkman combined.

And please, don't compare Flash with Ant-Man.

I agree somewhat, though I question the popularity ratings.

However, I don't know how they would do a Flash film (nor does DC apparently). Wonder Woman and Aqua Man certainly give you a lot more to work with thematically.

With Thanos on the horizons with the Avengers, I fear that if WB did Justice League and used Darkseid it would be viewed as a "rip off" of the Avengers. Nevermind that Thanos is the rip off of Darkseid...

yep. that was my point earlier. i don't think the avengers 2 is here till 2015 though, so they've got the time to get it done before thanos kicks the avengers ass.

Marvel will get to Avengers II before JL ever comes together. We're getting Thanos and his mythology.


Darkseid would seem like a major ripoff. Then again, the "Justice League" would seem like an Avengers ripoff as well.

The thing is, Darkseid is THE villian to pit the JL against. He's the epitome of evil.

It's crazy how much the Eternals and Thanos are rip offs of the New Gods and Darkseid.

Can you imagine a Justice League movie with Green Arrow and Black Canary... haha? I just saw how it can be done and done very very well.
