Talib is indeed very much slept on. I thought he was going to break through to mainstream with Eardrum, but after that first week his sales slipped.

I loved Eardrum. That whole album was nice... expecially with that track with Jean Grae.

Is that the only song you've heard? How can you hate on someone who said, "They couldn't figure how a n**** drops bombs from a spacecraft"?[/nice]

I've heard like everyone of his songs....:o

When did the mother****er from DEGRASSI suddenly start getting airplay? That ***** just sprung up from out the boonies.

I thought the SAME damn thing to myself. He just popped up outta nowhere with his cult following. He's no different than the rest of the follow along RnB hip hop dudes.

Just in: They're predicting a No. 1 debut for Whitney's new album next week. It comes out on Monday as opposed to Tuesday...they pushed it up a day past the deadline so it could be eligible for Grammy consideration. :whatever:

Which means she'll get one for a pitiable, token compilation when other deserving singers i.e. Chrisette Michelle, Jasmine Sullivan, Jennifer Hudsin, etc., will go home empty-handed. :down

Question. Does my man here have a name?

And I got a knuckle sandwich for the first wise-guy who says "Hyper's black friend" :cmad:

The black sidekick. Equal in strength to Hyper, but will never be the leader. :o

What can I say? We're incredibly cynical. When it comes to superheroes who are basically "the black version of [blank]," it gets difficult to see them as more than just "the black version of [blank]." Writers can come along and do some amazing things with those characters, but in the end, future writers and editors will change the character's personality completely or sweep them under the rug because "that's only the black version of [blank]." Who's going to notice, right?

War Machine: The black version of Iron Man. When was the last time we enjoyed a comic he starred in?

Steel: The black version of Superman. That is, until they turned him into DC's black version of Colossus and had him babysit a bunch of idiot teenage superheroes.

Green Lantern John Stewart: The black version of Green Lantern. Is he an angry architect? A former military strategy man? Thanks to decades of obscurity and a token spot in an animated series, the comics can no longer decide!

Patriot: The young black Captain America. Talk to me when Young Avengers gets an ongoing series again.

I thik Luke Cage is holding down the fort for black superheroes at Marvel. And maybe Black Lightning and Firestorm over at DC.

The latest War Machine series was pretty good, but now they're canceling it with issue # 12. Damn Marvel for canceling all of the titles I buy. I'm down to Black Panther, Captain America, and Daredevil now. Now that Black Panther is finally looking decent again, they'll probably cancel that too.

I wanted to like the new WM book so much, but I had to drop it around issue 4 or 5. He was just too angry and seemed to enjoy the killing a bit too much. That and I hate his cyborg-body.

I hate the cyborg thing too, but it's alot better than what's happened with him in the past sometimes. It fun to see him as this unstoppable machine instead of a sidekick. I thought it was doing good sales wise too. If that's the case, why is Marvel canceling it with IM2 coming out next year?

I don't think it was doing well in sales. I want Rhodey to get a new human body and join an avengers team or something.

Speaking of black heroes, I want the Blue Marvel to do something. I think Grievoux did a good job with that mini, and there's a good amount of potential for the character.

I was about to axe, who is that one dude in the current run of Outsiders, because I don't keep up with it, then I realized it's Black Lightning. We are experiencing a serious drought of brothers in the comics universe.

And our superheroine sisters are turning white.

I keep meaning to read Blue Marvel. I hear he's just like a black Sentry.

Black Lightning is popular, but never seems to really go]/i] anywhere :(
