There is only one song on this earth that actually can bring tears to my eyes. Only one. And I don't even know why the song has such an effect on me. But for some reason...it's very powerful to me; it sums up my life I guess.

Has anyone else heard the latest from Eric Benet? This s*** is smooth as HAY-ELL...Dayum...they just premiered it on the radio here. I guess it's gonna double as a single from his forthcoming album.

Benet is one of the best singers out right now. He is a really skilled singer. I usually listen to his "Pretty Baby" while I'm exercising. For some reason that goes perfect with my workouts.

Yeahhhhhhh. Hurricane was one of the most underrated R&B albums of the past decade. I heard that he recorded it a few years before it came out. I think it's his best one to date.

I can't see vids at work... what's the song?

My favorite song from Eric Benet is "You're the Only One" off his Love and Life album.

I still love a "A Day In The Life". Never listened to Hurricane. I assume this was during the whole "I'm so addicted to sex, I cheat on my fine ass wife, Halle Berry." phase?

What's ya'll verdict on this young man?

In my opinion this song is a panty-dropper...like...on Prince-esqe levels. It seems like Robin has COMPLETELY changed his image for this album, no?

Robin Thicke is instant win! I like "Evolution..." more than "Something Else" though.

You gotta love Robin Thicke. After getting "The Evolution of..." I was shocked to find out he was the same dude who made this:

I remember seeing that video on BET a few times, and I dug the hell out of that song. It's a shame he doesn't sing like that anymore, but his babymaking songs are still awesome.

Eric Benet can sing his ass off. I still listen to Hurricane. My favorite from Love and Life is Chocolate Legs, but my all-time is Femininity.

I would say, when I first listened to this album my face was like  for most if it lol.

My favourite is still Evolution but I really like this guy, been following him since Beautiful world.

Ah, Blue-eyed soul! Makes for a perfect segway to something I spotted.

Apparently a white sorority step team won a national step competition the other day, and as you can imagine, there are some folks crying foul. Claims that the second place team was robbed, or they only won 'cause of the novelty of them being white, etc., etc., etc.

Watching a number of the performances that have been posted, I have to say, I enjoyed Zeta Tau Alpha's (the winning team) the most. The precision was there, the energy ways high, they had a nice little gimmick with the Matrix outfits, bottom line, I'd have been equally impressed if they were a black team. AKA's were the second place team, and while I thought they had a solid performance as well, I wouldn't go as far as to say ZTA robbed them of anything. Judging the two routines side-by-side, in my opinion, it's a crap shoot. I don't think ZTA being white gave them any type of edge when you factor in their skills as a step team.

Furthermore, one of the other competing teams, from the Deltas, were said to be so mad at the results, they stormed out of the auditorium. Bad sportsmanship aside, their routine in particular was quite weak.

But I figured this was worth discussing, so if anyone's got thoughts, chime away.

Eric Benet can sing his ass off.

Yeah he's ridiculously slept on. Probably because of that whole "actually having talent" thing. I only have the first two albums...gotta get the others. Never even knew about Hurricane :O

First of all, let me start by saying...

ZTA

AKA

Second, those white chicks brought it. If AKA had gone out there with ZTA's level of precision and organization, nobody would be complaining. No, I take that back-- fans of the third place team would still be angry at ZTA for robbing them. Everybody knows that in order for a white person to get any kind of respect in an all-black arena, they have to be better than the average on some level. For example, nobody would give two craps about Eminem or Robin Thicke if they were only about as talented as Soulja Boy or Ne-Yo, respectively.

That said, I did think AKA's routine had a few more original moves in it than ZTA's. I imagine it must've been a close call for the judges. Still, I don't see ZTA walking away with the win out of sheer novelty.

It's always that way in society. The one black dude that can play golf beats the **** out of the rest of the white boys, and the white guy/chick that can sing r&b or rap can blow the rest of them out the water. You have to stand out. White people that get into black oriented activities already know from jump they can't come off corny.

Vanilla Ice disproves this line of thinking like a mother #@$#%^

Any race that is the minority in a specifically "color" dominated event/culture/situation is going to have to work twice as hard to prove themselves. That's unfortunately just how it is...there's always going to be people saying stereotype-fueled critiques such as, "well, they can't step because they're white," "that Asian chick can't dance, Asian *****es don't have enough ass for hip-hop anyways," "does that black man think he's white? He can't be cultured enough to be a wine critic." Blah blah blah. If I dance, there will always be someone out there saying I shouldn't because I'm white. Spoons always has someone saying he's not black; he's white because he speaks so "properly." The world is ridiculous.

Asian *****es

That was jus sour grapes(AKA)...easily on the outside it looks racial. I see it more like when the U.S.A. basketball team got the bronze that time, them fools looked like they was gone cry on that 3rd place podium. Tiger Woods is better than all the black golfers too. Emenem is black, he's called Ice Cube. Talent is no match for novelty...even racial novelty, which is way Vanilla Ice damn near got droped outta window. People say hater...u hatin, so much its become if ur opinion is different ur a hater, which is flat the opposite. If u can't get past someones outword strength and hate it/them/ for what they do purley for a reason out of their control is a real hater....I hate on Robin Thike I'm afraid, Timberlake too..but he cracks me up.
Ill wait on the next Mike Mcdonald to come round.

As far as speakin proper, sistas give you the hardest time about **** like that, I don't kno how square Spoos is in real life...he's pretty entertain to me I guess. But I wouldn't let people blow **** about my own personality- People always tell me I'm different than what I look, then I get fired up about it and they always tread back, sall good, I bet Spoons is black enuff to argue lol.

That's ridiculous. Asians have pretty much taken the "best dancers" stereotype for themselves.
