I can't see the picture but from its description i am assuming its Mads Mikkelsen. He is a brilliant actor but his accent is very destinctive and Luthor has to be an american.

how about

awesome actor, though I don't know if he'd be able to drop the accent.

Terry O’Quinn rumored for the role of Lex Luthor

The one casting fans have been clamoring to learn more about is who will fill the role of Lex Luthor in Batman vs Superman. While Bryan Cranston had at one time been rumored for the role, this turned out to be completely bogus. Cranston denied the rumor, and if that wasn’t enough it was announced he would be going with the production of XX to Broadway which begins in December.

According to Superman Super Site, sources close to the production offices set up in Michigan have informed him Terry O’Quinn is on a shortlist of actors in consideration to play the amoral villain.

During the Live Fan Event on Saturday, Zack made an interesting comment which was Lex Luthor is the only one to call Superman an alien. Now, as to whether Zack was referring to comic book Lex or next movie Lex is open to speculation… and believe me, everyone is speculating.

STOP READING IF YOU DON’T LIKE POSSIBLE SPOILERS.

SERIOUSLY. LAST CHANCE.

YOU WERE WARNED.

With recent rumors of schematics for LexCorp Cybernetics Division and some other set builds, it is feeling very certain Lex Luthor will be in the next movie. Hopefully his presence will be more than the hard-to-see references of Man of Steel, but a more substantial presence will be felt.. and seen. Currently, Warner Bros has not confirmed the character (and all the other characters being rumored) so we have to wait on baited breath for the official press releases to find out for sure.

The unofficially titled and indirect sequel to Man of Steel opens July 17, 2015 and stars Ben Affleck as Batman/ Bruce Wayne. Returning for their roles are Henry Cavill as Superman/ Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.

Sure I liked him on Lost but we could do better than this guy:

I mean wasn't Snyder looking for someone on the same level as Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner?

So I'm going to take it with a grain of salt.

I love Terry for his work on X-Files and Lost, but it's precisely because of that why I don't want to see him as Luthor.

It'd just feel like Lex Lockethor

Let us hope this is a rumor that stays a rumor.

You know what would be inspired casting for Lex Luthor? Getting Matthew McConaughey. He's at his peak right now and getting him could make Batman vs Superman that much better.

Looks like Sam Jackson mentioned him in the last page. lol

He would be a great choice. He'd be hard to get right now but damn would it be some great casting right there.

I like Terry O'Quinn, but for me, Bryan Cranston is the absolute uppermost age limit for Lex Luthor. Honestly, even Cranston's a little too old, but I'd let it slide for him since he's one of the best actors on the planet right now. But going for someone in their 60s like O'Quinn is just too much.

I think we should all take it with a grain of salt and be glad that Snyder's doing proper sequel building and developing and finding his Lex Luthor who'll build on the events of MOS, rather than making Batman vs Superman entirely about the two being antagonists of each other with Bruce Wayne being a substitute for Luthor as what some people wanted on this thread:

We are now getting rumors yay!

I can see it. I mean his character in 666 Park Avenue was a demonic Lex Luthor. However I highly doubt he'll get the part. I don't see him in a robotic suit fighting Superman. If that's how they're taking Lex. If not then sure. Don't tell him what he can't do Kal-El.

It reads like a fanboy generated rumor. He's bald and a nerd favorite so he'd be perfect as Lex Luthor. Last time fanboys would've had you believe that Cranstan had already signed on the dotted line to play Luthor, same with Josh Brolin as Batman. Yes Brolin was up for the role so that part was true.

Also this is a movie that shocked the interwebs by getting Ben Affleck to play Batman you think they would go with just the most boring choice ever to play Luthor? The last two Lex Luthor's were played by acclaimed big stars like Hackman and Spacey I don't think they are going to give the role to 60+ year old Lost guy. No disrespect to O' Quinn whom work I really enjoy.

I think that they are getting a big movie name for the role, if I wrong fine I'll be eating crow. Although I could at least see Cranstan before I could see O'Quinn.

Dat Locke. Love Lost and Terry O'Quinn but it's unlikely Snyder would choose him, if this rumour is even true in the first place. Still think McConaughey is the most likely, with DiCaprio, DDL or Phoenix being wishes.

Why do people think McConaughey is such a likely choice? I have nothing against him but that seems to be the prevailing wisdom for some reason.

I could see him being under consideration. Fans have been wrong about this project since comic con so I'm not gonna dismiss the rumor out of hand. If he's picked, fine. With all the characters WB is allegedly trying to shoehorn into the film I doubt he'll be playing a lead role through much of the film anyway. Yeah a 60 odd Lex isn't ideal, but I don't want Rightwing either but it appears that's the way we're going.

On one hand, he'd come across as smart and manipulative. But I'm not sure he'd seem like someone who could deceive the whole city :cwink:

In that pic, he looks a lot like Gene Hackman's Lex. I want to see a different/younger version of Lex.

Personally I'd prefer someone like Mark Strong (though that's maybe a bit like typecasting too much), but to be honest I do like the suggestion of Terry O'Quinn and think he could potentially make a good Lex.

Because he's a great actor who's picking more and more good projects, is playing the lead in Christopher Nolan's new hotly-anticipated sci-fi film, has just released a movie with possible Oscar chances, in which he gives a reportedly brilliant performance (Dallas Buyers Club) and seems to be more likely to sign a multi-picture deal than someone like DiCaprio who doesn't do sequels, or actors like DDL and Phoenix who wouldn't do this film unless Goyer's script reads like a holy scripture.

Plus he'd make a pretty good Lex.

I can't see McConaughey pulling off the bald look very well. I think if he were to be cast then it would maybe be better to just forgo the shaved head look.

My money is on someone like decaprio or damon.
