Um You've never seen Reign of Fire?

Exactly.

He was rocking the bald head in Reign of Fire. Despite being a bad movie and Christian Bale as the lead, Matthew was the best part of that film. Chewing up scenery like a lawnmower chews up grass. :funny:

Now I'm hearing rumors that Jackie Earle Haley is trying out for a role in this film.

I really don't think that we live in a world in which DiCaprio will play a secondary character to Ben Affleck. It doesn't seem like a realistic choice to me.

They will never get either of those men. Leo ain't playing second fiddle to anyone and DDL is not leaving his cave for a Superhero movie.

Funnily enough I have. Though I don't have a great memory of that movie. However after having Google some images I still don't think he fits the bald look. Much better with a full head of hair imo.

Not sure whether to believe the O'Quinn rumor. He's a great actor and I can kinda see it. Like Cranston though, I think he's a little too old. I wouldn't go above 50 for Luthor (actually I think 40ish is ideal, although Strong is 50 and I'd be fine with him).

My the rumor mill seems to be churning potential Luthors each and every day. This is a good sign guys. Luthor is in the movie(who seems to be getting some serious development and playtime) and that it seems to not entirely be a versus movie, which is the last thing some of us wanted yes?

Freddy Krueger actor auditions for unknown role in Batman vs Superman
According to Latino Review, on the Twitter of El Mayimbe, it is reported Jackie Earle Haley has auditioned for an unknown role in Batman vs Superman. Many are speculating it is for Lex Luthor, due to his bald head. Truly, no one knows. Whatever role it was, he was turned down. If it is Lex Luthor, and based on all the rumored casting choices, it seems Lex may be older in the movie.

Haley played the less sarcastic version of Freddy Krueger in the 2012 reboot A Nightmare on Elm Street. Haley also worked with Zack Snyder in 300, portraying Rorschach.

TWITTER SCOOP! JACKIE EARLE HALEY auditioned for a role in BATMAN VS SUPERMAN but they passed on him. Gee, I wonder what he went in for? RT

What do you think about an older version of Lex Luthor in Batman vs Superman? Or does it not matter to you?

The unofficially titled Man of Steel follow up opens July 17, 2015 starring Henry Cavill as Superman/ Clark Kent, Ben Affleck as Batman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.

Thoughts?

He would be a pretty damn good Lex, but he's too short. :o

But seriously, if he does land a role in the film I can probably see him playing.....Metallo?

It says they passed on him? Aww poor Jackie, the man doesn't get the roles he deserves.

It didn't correct itself enough. The Nightmare On Elm Street remake came out in 2010.

:hehe:

That atrocious Nightmare on Elm Street reboot came out in 2010.

Didn't think it was that bad. Too much cgi (where the original film's practical effects still outshine it) and some lame kills and the story didn't quite take off, but it had potential. I felt like it started off with good intentions and I like him as Freddy, but I feel it didn't really hold to that potential and was too concerned with looking cool.

Seriously? Hell no to Haley.

Personally, even though, I know these probably won't happen, this is my shortlist.

Brad Pitt
Leonardo Dicaprio
Tom Cruise
Jon Hamm

I wouldn't mind:
Damien Lewis
Matthew M

I'm still gunning for Mel Gibson

He's the right amount of racist and potential xenophobe who's born to be Luthor.

I am gunning for the end of his charmless career.
