That's still one villain(who doesn't talk or emote outside of rage) over the course of 3 movies.

As well as one if not two of those movies being one big, long fight scene.

That would never, ever happen.

If I were making the movie Doomsday wouldn't be the only villain. I'd throw Lex in there just for good measure. It wouldn't be anything like that crappy Superman/Doomsday animated movie we got a few years back. I'm talking straight up epic, drawn out action. You couldn't fit a Doomsday battle into one movie...there would be no point

oh, and I agree....probably would never happen because Hollyweird isn't that smart

Who is most people?

A handful of comic book fans on a comic book message board?

Are you suggesting that the majority of people out there in the general public not only know who Doomsday is, but also want him in a movie?

I hope you're not suggesting that.

Other than Lex Luthor, who in the general public know of Superman's rogue galley? Anyone? Supe's villains are not as recognizable as Batman's like the Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman, Bane and Joker. People in cyber-world have been pounding their fists on the table for Brainiac forever but the general public probably has no idea of what he means to Superman as comic book junkies would be the sole engine behind him appearing.

First and foremost, more than half of these movies are created for the comic-book universe that will go see the movie 5-6 times. The less than half are the general public are the milkings of the ticket sales that don't know who Doomsday is, but is enthralled by the appearance of his menacing image with bones sticking out of his skin beating Superman senseless. Doomsday will sale just as much as a green Alien from Colu would if used right and simply LOOKS cool, which he does.

I just...I'm at a complete loss for words here.

I literally have nothing to say in rebuttal to the idea presented here.

The difference between Doomsday and Brainiac is is that Brainiac is actually cool and interesting and 3 dimensional.

Doomsday is a big dumb monster.

I'm not sure how to take this comment....

I just don't understand how anyone could say seriously that a movie could consist of one big huge fight scene.

Introducing an uninteresting villain in one movie, fighting him in another movie or two, and then FINISHING that fight in another movie.

I'm completely dumbfounded.

That's true. No doubt about that, but the general public probably has no clue about that and wouldn't be smart enough to know the difference between the two if you would flat out ask them on the street. The GA is sold on trailers, merchandise and other releases. With Snyder's vision, he could pimp Doomsday as pure MAGIC of a villain by action sequence alone. That's what would sell his pitch if he were to be used. If you would ask the CB community, I think Brainiac is the one everyone is drooling for, but if Doomsday were to fight Supes in an epic battle, a grand portion would sign on that dotted line for that fight alone.

And Brainiac could bring giant robots to the fight.

You know what's cooler than Superman punching a big dumb monster?

Superman punching a giant, building sized robot through another building.

Plus, you could actually have ethos with Brainiac.

And you don't have the stigma of watering down Doomsday just so he doesn't kill Superman in the second movie of the series.

Introduce Doomsday at the end of this movie, have him punch through a wall or something, and all you see is his fist and maybe a glowing eye. And then ttwo more movie featuring Doomsday. The battle begins about 30 to 40 minutes into the next movie...that movie ends in a cliffhanger. Then the action picks up in the 3rd and lasts just about the entire movie but it's not all action...while the battle is continuously going on we don't stay on the battle the entire movie, you gotta have inter-looping storylines or whatever. And the end the movie with his death. I'm no story writer, but I got decent ideas

No...just...no.

I like the idea of Brainiac. If you have Brainiac come in also, you could cut from Superman's fight with Doomsday to the other members of the League fighting Brainiac's robots...just ideas

I agree with that. No doubt Brainiac brings the best goods probably from all of Supes's rogues and would make one helluva villain that would send people for a damn thrill ride. Still, that doesn't mean a character like Doomsday can't work with added extra intangibles to the cinematic story to give Superman a much bigger threat to whatever formula they think could prove worthy and successful.

In this film, Lex is going to be THE MAN anyway. Bigger, more galactic-wide threats will probably come later or referenced by the end leading into the next installment IMO.

I have no doubt that Lex will be the main villain in this movie, but I think there needs to be a bigger villain especially since they are throwing in Batman AND Wonder Woman. Why do you need those three to take out Lex? I'd like to see Darkseid, Mongul, or Brainiac or Doomsday. I really think the only way you can do Doomsday is in a trilogy. They told the LOTR story over 3 movies and Doomsday should really take no less than 2. To give the battle justice (no pun intended) you can't squeeze that epic of a fight into 1 movie

Guess you're just not a Doomsday fan. I think it would really work

I like Doomsday, and I don't think it would work, it would drag badly, and the fight really shouldn't take multiple films, I say if they introduce doomsday in this film just hint at him in a mid-credits scene and make him the villain in the first justice league 2 and make it so Darkseid is responsible for his being on earth, and the second JL film would be about the return of Superman and them going after Darkseid.

Actually Brainiac was mind controlling Doomsday at one point.

no doubt??? there isn't any news abut the character of lex luthor...

Well I base it on all the name drops in Man of Steel....and how Snyder has talked about Luthor in the past

a movie would be twice as long as that animated film, and the film also covered the return arc as well, which meant less time for Doomsday. my suggestion would exclude the return arc until the next film. I say use him for a first justice league film because it'd be a great way to show the full power of all their heroes, as well as presenting an actual threat (as much as I liked avengers I never felt the heroes were actual threatened by the alien invasion). No matter how it's figured that would result in an all out war of a fight between Doomsday and the Justice League. you don't need multiple films for one fight scene.

I guess so....I mean there are people much smarter than me out there so I'll drop my lame idea

There hasn't been any news about Doomsday either.

You're not letting that stop you.

I don't quite agree with the idea that the general public doesn't know who Brainiac is. The name itself entered the English language and has no trouble being understood. Add in his integral appearances in the DCAU and you've got at least some base knowledge that few people would have trouble grasping or getting excited for.

The way I see it, here's how you do Brainiac, Luthor and even Doomsday. Brainiac is the most intelligent and has the most resources. Luthor betrays Brainiac and jacks his intelligence and stuff. Doomsday is reserved for a Justice League movie as Darkseid's spiteful last weapon, and takes on the Justice League plus the Legion of Doom and only goes down when Superman is literally the last man standing.

Naaa.... Darkseid is his own last weapon. If they ever introduce Darksied. We would get Kalibak, The Female Furies, Big Barda, his army, and He himself. No need to make Doomsday his pawn.

This is the Lex thread, remember.

So is the general consensus that that Callum whoever guy from 300: Rise of an Empire is being looked at for Luthor?
