Skarsgard is wayyyy too old to play Robin. The guy is 35.
Not trying to knock your choice but the guy is 40. They should get somebody that's actually young enough to be Robin. One thing that annoys me about Hollywood is when they hire actors that are two times older than the character that they're playing.
No and Will Smith would not accept the role of Batman due to the same reason he turned down Superman.
Will Smith is an idiot.
He turned down the role of "Neo" in The Matrix in order to do Wild Wild West. He turned down Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" - the chance to work with Tarantino and Leonardo DiCaprio.
He has zero idea about what roles to do. In my opinion, he usually picks the movies where he can be a sassy black guy with one liners who either fights aliens, creatures, or he can try desperately to win an Oscar. In other words:
Men in Black
Men in Black 2
Men in Black 3
Wild Wild West
Independence Day
Bad Boys
Bad Boys 2
The Pursuit of Happiness
Ali
Seven Pounds
I Am Legend
Hancock
I, Robot
Hitch
Enemy of the State
The Legend of Bagger Vance
Basically, everything he's ever done. That's his whole career.
A bit harsh for a guy you don't even know...Will Smith is an idiot.
Maybe he doesn't want to work with Tarantino and DiCaprio or be in the Matrix? He's an idiot because he'd rather be in movies he liked or that he could show his kids instead of movies you like?He turned down the role of "Neo" in The Matrix in order to do Wild Wild West. Being the highest paid actor in Hollywood begs to differ...He has zero idea about what roles to do.
It's worked out pretty well for him... He's doing things he likes and managed to support and create careers for his children because of it. Does that sound like an idiot, or someone who hit the jackpot? In my opinion, he usually picks the movies where he can be a sassy black guy with one liners who either fights aliens, creatures, or he can try desperately to win an Oscar.

By choice, a choice he made based on research, believe it or not.
He wanted to become exactly what he became, one of the biggest box office stars in the world. So he studied the commonalities in the biggest box office movies of that time, determined what made the most money, and only took roles fitting those descriptions. I'm not blowing smoke, he's talked about this process in plenty of interviews. And it worked lol, so in reality, he' may not be the idiot you think, whether you like his movies or not...
... What role was he offered in SR?
"The last 'Superman' I got offered," Will Smith revealed recently, reminiscing about the time he passed up the "Superman Returns" role that eventually went to Brandon Routh, "the script came, and I was like, 'There is no way I'm playing Superman!' Because I had already done Jim West [of 'Wild Wild West'], and you can't be messing up white people's heroes in Hollywood!"
