Will say it again. Who's bonehead choose was it to hire a director that's never done an action movie. PR was susposed to be high flying action with martial arts. That's what people expected. Instead they got the breakfast club.

Supposed to be like The Avengers with Mega Zords & not Breakfast Club

Haim Saban

I think if they had focused more on the action and fun, it would've had a better box office. Even thoug the character work was done good for majority of the cast, it was to much for trying to relaunch Power Rangers to the general public.

Perhaps Sony & Lions Gate should merge LMFAO
Both have no franchises worth a damn
Both are desperate
Both are mismanaged

Sounds like a win

I'll take a Lionsgate movie over whatever Sony decides to do.

Was pretty surprised how little "breakfast club" was in it. Although, by Breakfast Club, you're mostly referring to how character-driven it was.

Excatly explosions, martial arts, cool special effects. Shoot the TV show had more action then the movie. I said it a month ago. Letting Haim Saban have any involvement with the direction of the movie was stupid. They should have paid him off and hired their own director.

Lionsgate (along with Summit, of course) released La La Land. Though not a franchise, it's made $436 million off of $30 million, which means both sides are seeing a great profit. Not to mention they do have a profitable franchise in John Wick, which will undoubtedly receive a third movie & though I don't care for it, they also have the Madea franchise that's still making good money. And then there's the Saw franchise they could always return to, especially since horror has been seeing something of a drought.

Point is you're very wrong. Sony was hemorrhaging & their deal with Marvel Studios is what's giving them a bit more life. Whereas Sony will likely reach the bankruptcy stage, Lionsgate is not in the same dire straits. They've had some flops, but every studio does.

And they damn sure aren't doing as bad as Sony, even with PR failing at the box office.

Joke = Dead

Watch the movie edit of Green With Evil followed by watching this movie

Guess who wins easily

Thank you. It's what people wanted. It why it made 40M on opening week. They thought they were getting an action movie. When it was revealed the action was small. The second week on the movie fell at the box office. I mean how hard is it to have action through out a movie. TF does it. Even though their plot stinks. It's why people pay for more.

...
Where's the action or thrills?
1. Sprinkled throughout before the big dumb thing we crave
2. Get a couple of sweet car chases before they unearth the base
3. the display of powers and subsequently the actual training montage is genuinely fun to watch
(especially the moments outside putty tutorial)
4. Scenes with Rita

I know you mean PR action :oldrazz:

Any ways my final thoughts. If PR ever gets another reboot. Please for the love of god. Keep Haim Saban involvement very very small. Hire your own director and make the movie action packed like it was supposed to be.

The Honest Trailer & Cinema Sins should at least be gold for this one

Or at the very least by July either iTunes release / or for pirates one of those International PPV HDRIPS either way a perfectly good copy will be around by that time

To be FAIR. The Russos had no movie experience before they got the job for Marvel. Colin Treverrow had no action movie experience before he got Jurassic World. Chris Nolan only had Following and Memento before he landed Batman.

Point is, everybodys got to start somewhere. How do you get experience if you're not given experience. Know what I mean? ;)

Japan actually has some pretty harsh anti-piracy laws, so that tends to be why they get away with releasing it later there.

Sweet lawd.

I'm glad I stopped watching after the original lineup.

Why can't some people just admit that Lions Gate screwed up again here ?

Because I wanted a big screen movie franchise for the Power Rangers! The cast was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It's a shame really! Maybe WB can get their hands on Power Rangers? :gngl:

Really you want the studio that royally ****ed up a franchise they own (DC) to royally **** up Power Rangers ? I will take Michael Bay doing Power Rangers at Paramount before WB

I honestly wonder when we'll get another one. Probably wont be unless Saban sells it like he did with back in the day with Disney.
