For the sequel I hope that some of the complaints from the fans and critics are addressed by WB.

I'll be more than happy if it reaches the 700 M mark!

Surpassing $500m worldwide, Warner Bros’ Man of Steel added $52.2m after debuting in seven new markets.
Zack Snyder’s 3D Superman reboot charted top in Australia with $8.7m from 560 screens, Sweden with $2m from 168 screens and New Zealand with a $1.2m debut from 134 screens.

Highlights of Man of Steel’s holdovers include China ($11.9m for $46.5m to date), the UK ($4m for $41.1m) and France ($3.4m for $13.6m)

MU also played to adults too. I mean kids who saw it over ten years ago are adults now. But DM2 has far more going for it, the jump we could be seeing will be on Shrek level.

I don't know much about the Australian BO, but it seems like a pretty good number when comparing to other successful films:

WWZ: 5M OW
TASM: 5M OW
The Hunger Games: 9M OW
FAF (2013): 10M OW
IM III: 14M OW
TDKR: 15M OW

I don't know much about the Australian BO, but it seems like a pretty good number when comparing to other successful films:

WWZ: 5M OW
TASM: 5M OW
The Hunger Games: 9M OW
FAF (2013): 10M OW
IM III: 14M OW
TDKR: 15M OW

hmmmm, just to use those same films as comparison (minus WWZ since it just opened)

Domestic Totals (Australia)
Hunger Games with $31 million
TASM with $17m
FF6 with $21m
IM3 with $36m
TDKR with $44m
Superman Returns with $10m

Seems as if $35-45 million (IM3 & TDKR numbers) would be unreachable, but I suspect it can beat out TASM & FF6 pretty easily. So reasonable guestimation would put it at around $25m for Australia it seems.

btw, if WB is smart enough, they should cast a hot and sexy China actress as lex luthor's body guard in MOS2. maybe Zhang ziyi?
it will spice up and hype up the whole China market. and i believe it will make more than IM3. 100M.
