I been comparing mos to the hobbit numbers and to me they seem close the hobbit only did 49
million in china and mos is also close to the hobbitt numbers in other places as well as lone as mos can get 300mil dom it still has a chance at a billion. Many may say im crazy but remember the hobbit only did 303 dom and 714 os let mos finish its run cuz form what im seeing os loves this movie lets not forget inception who would have thought that movie would make the money it has with a 62mil opening weekend

Not sure if it'll have a chance now... but it would have been so easy for it to hit that 1B mark if WB didn't just totally ignore the OS market in their marketing campaigns...

That's very hypothetical. And if it's on track for 700M + (as people are saying on here) that means it would have had to make an extra 250M or more OS which I just don't see happening. A combination of lets say an extra 100M DOM and 150M OS, maybe.

I still feel that was too low a score and they must have been rating on a different standard compared to other action type films?

Fast 6 got a 70% rating now i'm not just bashing it just because it's the fast and the furious. I saw it in theaters and i thought it was much worst than fast 5 and indeed purely as a film worst than Man of Steel.

On acting alone the Man of Steel cast was miles ahead. So again it goes to my point that critics were grading it on some sort of scale separate from other blockbusters. I'd say the same about it and TASM as well.

MoS deserved at least a 70 based on the tier of film it was.
This is an interestiing opinion about fast 6 .
I have not seen it but, a friend told me it was the best in the series.

Blade Runner is a terrible movie. It took me 3 sittings to watch the whole thing because I kept falling asleep. A colossal bore, almost as overrated and mind numbing as 2001: A Space Odyssey, but with a crappy, equally boring soundtrack (2001 at least had cool, epic music).

Yes!Yes!Yes!

Scorsese is my all time favorite. Kurosawa, Kubrick, Lean, Spielberg, Ozu, and the Coens come in right behind. I really like Hitchcock as well. Rope, Rear Window and Vertigo are incredible.

Christopher Nolan, Wes Anderson, Edgar Wright, Brad Bird and Joe Wright for the newer generation.

North By Northwest was pretty good too.

I really think the response after the first viewing of a movie is the most accurate and pure. I feel like with second viewings people have lowered their expectations, so it is relatively more enjoyable. I also don't think second viewings that are less enjoyable are accurate either. It should not take 2 viewings of a movie to enjoy it. If someone hated a movie the first time, why would they spend the money to watch it a second time? I certainly wouldn't go watch a sucky movie again because I was told I would enjoy more if I watched it again. I didn't think MOS sucked by the way, and I do want to go watch it again but I would still hold to my first reaction as my most genuine response to the movie.

That isn't always true. Especially for me. I left IM3 thinking it was as good as IM. I still like the movie but it wasn't close to as good as IM for me. So sometimes watching the movie again does create a more genuine response.

I'm figuring MOS finishes 6th this weekend. I think it can overtake WHD.

There's a story about MOS on the Business Insider. They mention seeing MOS the first time at an early screening and thinking it was good but not great. They said they saw MOS a second time without expectations and enjoyed this take on Superman much more.

I think with a movie like MOS the hype factor can distort your first viewing. IM3 could be the same way. At least for the fans who have been following its development and anxiously awaiting the final product, there's a lot of emotions surging through our bodies during the first viewing. That's why the second one is usually more enjoyable for me because I can just enjoy it.

Some comic book movies, including ones I like, play it safe. They don't take any risks to upset critics and fans. They follow the safest formula and collect their money.

Why is it still hard to believe to some think about it MOS has grossed 520 mil in 3 1/2 weeks it still has to be in theaters for another 11 1/2 weeks do the math at this point it can get another 480 by the end of its run it will gain additional 30- 60 mil this week and knocking on 600 mil door it took the hobbit its entire run to get 300 dom and mos is out pacing it in everyway in all markets and I dont see where the poor os marketing was bad how can a movie be #1 in all the os markets for 2 weeks with bad marketing MOS is still making money its slowinh down only in tge us not the rest of the world to me is on pace for 1,012,000,000 somewherr in that range
