Boxoffice.com does show that MOS has had some serious movement on the Facebook front.

that is a 13,513 increase of fans in about 3 days. I see this number only rising more and more once it gets closer. Also this being a reboot many people are cautious and also new to it. I could almost gurantee it would have millions were this a sequel. the trailer views also are extremely high as well.

LOL...well, in that case, i'll have to apologize to the guy! he's right it's going to destroy monster university, no doubt.

LOL! "destroy" a pixar film? no wait...destroy an animated feature sequel in the middle of summer?

Good luck with that.

Ha, my lunch mates have no idea there is a new superman coming out in the next 2 weeks!!! They have not even watched any of the trailers!!! They saw the new kiosks at the shopping mall court promoting superman stuffs and went puzzled. Lol

You really do not want it to do well do you?

As some have mentioned i can see it beating the $260m+ domestic for TASM but overtaking the $490m os it made would be pretty unprecedented for a superman film.

To overtake the total it would have to really exceed expectation either domestically or os.

Dude, trust me, Man of steel will exceed your expectations domestically and overseas.

600 mil PFFTTTT are you that much of an imbecile or just a hater that you think thats all this movie will make. What a joke.

750 mil min an you can quote me on that.

Agree with everything you said except the min figure. I think the min will be 800 mil. You can quote me on that!

How do you come up with this number? What's your domestic and overseas prediction?

Honestly, this HAS to crack at the very least 650 million worldwide, this is going to surprise a lot of people. Truly THE event movie (Pac Rim too I believe, but doesnt have as broad an appeal).

PM is a wild card. It's either going to pull a Transformers, or a Transformers 2.

Either way, I still see PR do super good, it's tracking at a 50 million OW domestic, and that was a couple of weeks ago, and as said in the article in the last Variety mag, they are ramping up the marketing campaign next week for general audiences.

Plus Legendary financed 75% of the budget, so it's all good for WB.

It won't cut that much into MOS. Not close enough to do so.

MIB3 numbers (domestic/overseas) for PR would be optimistic at this point.

TF numbers would be official break out territory.

I wasn't necessarily talking about BO as much as I'm just talking about the movie in general. Transformers being a decent movie and TF2 being a straight to Netflix special with a coupon from Wal-Mart after buying $29.99 of candy.

Oh now we're insulting people who aren't predicting astronomical numbers?

Bravo, you're outdoing yourself.

*slow clap*

:whatever:

$700 million is not astronomical.

But yeah the use of imbecile is a bit extreme.

I think it's better to predict low n get surprise than predict high n get disappointment.

Lesson fr SR.

So you mean to say at it's best, Prim will be a decent movie?
It's always so interesting seeing people wrestle with how they praise Bay/TF films on hostile forums.

Perhaps a different analogy would have suited your point better. Mayhaps Ironman.

The harsh reality is that that Prim will probably crawl to even half of TF1's numbers. WW and Domestic. Half.
Let's not even get into TF2.

But that's numbers.
Ironically I see MoS landing around TF1's domestic and TF2's WW.

Based on trailer views and GA's anticipation I agree. But we can never be too sure.

Since when is being a decent movie a bad thing? It's almost a 60 on Rotten Tomatoes which is the qualification you need for it to be given a "Fresh" rating. I consider that about decent.

This movie looks like a big CGI fest, coincidentally similar to Transformers. Some liked it, yet some saw through all the CGI into what the story really was, which was "meh". Hence the "decent" rating on my half.

I don't praise Bay or the TF films at all. It's a less than mediocre trilogy at best with TF2 clawing it down and TF3 not falling far behind. Regardless how it did in the BO because that's obviously no indication of how good the movie is. I'm going just off the movies in general. Bay even called himself out when creating TF3 and said it wasn't going to suck like the last one. (Not exact words, but he knew he screwed TF2 up, bad.) Despite the fact that 3 was barley any better.

To compare this movie to Iron Man would be a disgrace. Iron Man is by far one of the best comic book movies made to date. It's up there with The Dark Knight as far as I'm concerned.

Compare this movie to what it is, which is why I chose Transformers. It's a CGI fest and the story is going to suffer because of it.

I agree with jamie on PR. I think 200 mill or there about in the states, but much bigger numbers overseas. 350 mill +

I'm still thinking 310/320 mill for mos here, 325/350 overseas.

The real movie to worry about isn't PR... It's Monsters University.
