But you're saying its foolish to think MOS is gonna pass every movie besides Spider-Man right?

Anyone who says this movie isn't trending or tracking well, needs to be examined. This movie has so much hype its unreal. Its facebook count goes up daily by the thousands. Its already getting rave reviews from several people. This movie will exceed expectations. Google trends! Lol

I only used Google trends to show how high IM3 went. Until June 11th I can't tell anything from it, but you do get ot see how high FF6/STID went compared to IM3 (like half).

Say this gives us 85% is positive reviews and I bet for sure this will pass $700 million. $1B is not easy, it needs more then Superman to do that, but like Darkseid or something

I think you are putting much too stock in the RT meter and its correlation to box office. I don't think the Box office will be much swayed whether the T-meter is 75 or 90. It certainly didn't hinder Iron man 3.

105/110 ow. 310/15 dom. 325/30 overseas. ( but really, I think anywhere from 600 to 700 ww is a safe bet.

600mil would be good for a reboot, those are just facts. If you think we aren't getting a sequel (which I am most concerned about if I like the film) if MOS makes 600mil worldwide you are living in a world of make believe.

Of course the movie was expensive and needs to make a certain amount, no one is contending with that but 600mil worldwide is a lot and would be a good result for a franchise starter. You and other fans are acting like anything under a billion (I know your list isn't saying that really but that's the feeling I get from a lot of fans) will be seen as a failure because you are letting your hype for the film get to you.

I'm sure Warners has expectations but seeing how other reboots have performed I'm sure their expectations are more realistic than 750-1bil or else no sequels or anything else. Those are fanboy expectations.

I know 600 m will earn MOS a sequel.

I'm just saying 750+ m would automatically greenlight solo movies for practically every founding member of the Justice League.

depending on location, lots of Wal Marts have sold out of tickets. and graphs and trends dont mean jack. what will matter is how well it does OW. social media only counts for a fraction of the population and I am sure not everyone has to go to twitter and FB to show they are interested in a movie

My local Wal-Mart sold out within a few hours.
it only tells that there is a lot of geeks in your area. :D

anyway, i know everybody is hyped here, me including. but if in the end, MOS did 600M or slightly less; i don't want us getting disappointed or blaming... i want it be regarded as a success.

No it wouldn't. GL killed that chance a long time ago.

If anything it would motivate WB to consider a Batman/Superman series or get moving on JL.

That's an understatement lol. And I wouldn't consider $580-600 million a disappointment. That's incredibly solid IM1 numbers. Currently, my prediction is anywhere from $650-750 million.

Aight. I knew it would happen. I knew I would either go up or down, but I gotta go up. I'm hearing too many good things no to.
If i'm wrong, i'm wrong.
OW. 115/120 mill
DOM 325
OS 375.

800M is in the Spider-Man (2002) territory. Is that your final answer?

GL's failure froze any plans for Justice League.

Avengers success put those plans fully in motion.

MOS making 750 m would put spin offs in motion too.

Avengers changed things. Warner Bros knows they're sitting on a gold mine. MOS becoming an A-list attraction would only confirm that.

They put Nolan in charge of DC characters after Green Lantern because they are looking forward. Once that arrangement starts to pay off beyond Batman all bets are off.

I could go up again, but I think 700 mill is a nice number.

The Spider-Man movies are the only movies that cleared the 700M marker on the start of a franchise. Avengers doesn't count cause it's basically coming off 5 movies.

What it you adjusted Superman the Movie and Batman (89)?

True. but name one film, DC or Marvel, other than ( like you said ) spider-man, that had this much hype FROM THE PUBLIC that was a fresh start.
Early word from the public from screenings is also VERY good.

BB had hype but not this much. I honestly cant think of any CB film having this much hype that was a franchise starter.

I was very skeptical at first. I wasnt sure if the hype would be there for MoS, but it obviously is.

So essentially it's tracking strong? If that's the case, great to hear. :yay:

Well that would be great except IM3 wasn't selling any tickets due to the Disney/AMC/Regal stand off at this point in the sales cycle.
