I stopped playing the box office game ever since Hunger Games made $160 million on its opening weekend.

It was 152.5mil. It's not a big deal that you were wrong.

I just see little signs here and there. The current landscape of bombs, the truly high profile nature of this release. Watching Grace Randolph has taught me one thing recently: Everyone even the haters, are all curious. This level of curiosity wasn't present with the likes of most CBMs including the first IM. And then there are those people that might actually think this is Nolans next superhero flim and he chose superman of all people.

I may criticize the marketing approach but there is a chance this will be another one of those big openings that leaves everyone and their mother questioning why they didn't see it coming.

I figured about 10 less than TDK would be fair.

Looking at the Purge's numbers, there is this thing the GA does when they are curious. They go see **** for themselves.

The Purge opening is why I upped my prediction. I just completely didn't see that coming.

I think the Purge performing lower or everything in general would cause one to raise their projection for MOS. Less people seeing movies the week before increases the chance they would come out next weekend. As they say the calm before the storm.

I think people came out to see The Purge because they liked the the idea of that particular story.

Because you can easily appropriate Twilight , or any of its sequels on DVD.

I disagree that it was horrible. It got good reviews and did well on DVD so I'm not the only one.

Agreed. I couldn't believe I wasted my time watching it. Very lame teenie bopper film. Now as for Man of Steel, that is a quality film. People will definitely get their money's worth!

I was having some chats with some new friends n we talked about movies... then I said MOS is around the corner n if they planning it watch it? One of them have a big reaction saying NO! He will never ever watch a superman movie. He said sup is stupid not worth it. but he could go lengthy on how good ironman, batman n avengers r.

Well, I can understand some people hating Superman particularly if his experience is only with the movies .

I was talking to my coworkers and they said they are planning to watch Fast and Furious and Monster University. I asked about MOS and they said they will catch it in dollar theater or DVD. They said the same thing about The Dark Knight Rises. They are passionate comic book readers and loved Avengers and other Marvel movies.
