Let me guess.....he's a non-comic reader?
i guess. i was trying to introduce the MOS topic, but he blocked me right away... then i asked if he enjoyed / watched other superheroes movies... then he went on about IM, bat and avengers...

therefore, i think superman is popular but movie wise... he is still got a lot more works to do. and that's my reason for my low estimation too.

The same could be said about any other CBM. Some people just have no interest in them. Lets face it, there would have been tons of people that never saw TDK, TDKR, IM3 or Avengers, and look how those did.

Bashing supes was what the "kewl" kids were doing. They now dont wanna be proven wrong.

I cannot wait for this embargo to lift. It's so unpredictable which way this movie is going to turn... I love it.

I can't imagine Supes being bashed on in terms of super heroes. I know there's a bunch of Marvel nowadays and that's the huge thing right now but Superman is the icon for superhero you know? At least in America.

Some MCU-fanboys (non-comic readers) are living in an act of self-denial. They can't accept the fact that Supes is back on the silver screen.

"No, Superman is lame, he isn't an Avenger, he isn't Batman, he can't be awesome. He can't... HE CAN'T. I won't watch this movie... I WON'T WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!!"

I don't think MCU-fanboys are in denial. If the movie is good, it's good.

I'm not generalizing. But I know some MCU-fanboys (like I said, non-comic readers), and they're nitpicking. Probably cause they know **** about the character and because this is the first modern Superman movie.

How about we not turn this into a DC vs. Marvel flame war?

It's not necessary, and not welcome here.

Oh yeah, this has always been my intention. :whatever:

I never said "DC is better than Marvel" or anything like that. I'm not trying to turn this thread into a DC vs. Marvel flame war. I'm just saying that Superman gets a lot of hate for no reason at all.

I agree Superman gets hate, but so do many others. I went to a church social the other day and I believe I have talked some of them into going to see MOS this weekend. Heck I am going with some of them to see it Friday night. win for Man of Steel. I continue to promote and market Man of Steel to the non believers or skeptics. Hopefully word of mouth will spread as I believe it is at the moment. 130M OW is still my estimate and I am sticking with it, but I would be happy with around 100M OW.

These forums never used to be that way, pre 2005 we all celebrated each new release equally for each one championed our little sub "genre".

But just like the human race, divisions were made and pride, fear and other baser tendencies have us acting worse than apes in the grand scheme of things.

This post deserves a hype award(just saying):cwink:

Final week tracking will be coming in over the next 24 hours ...

RS has released their tracking ...

MoS - $138m
TitE - $20m

Waiting on MTC & BTC

Seems about 20 million higher than what I see ... but who knows. One thing seems inevitable, this isn't doing less than 100 unless something goes awfully wrong.

SR was released in 2006.

What is RS?

What is RS?

RS, MTC, and BTC are the 3 biggest tracking sources available to us.

RS/MTC rule says if RS is significantly (20ish percent) higher than MTC, than it will open BELOW mtc (aka RS is overestimating). We need RS tracking to say 115/120m +, other RS 138 is ONLY a sign of mass awareness, which is no surprise.

That said, 2 notes.

1. 138 is def. within reasonable expectations. Mass awareness, extremely effective advertising, great reviews, popular property = 120m - 150m is the expected ball park range. Anything less or over would be surprising.

2. All the other films listed in this weeks MTC release look extremely accurate.

No, you were just making childish comments about other fans. It's not welcome here, and I suggest you keep the topic to Man of Steel if you can't discuss fans of other properties without treating them with the respect you expect from them.

They got it so wrong. The number is 143.:o
I'm gonna feel dumb for low balling.
