MOS just went rotten. This could be bad. We haven't had a rotten CBM since GL?
For the well-known first-tier heroes/characters yes but Ghost Rider 2 (another Goyer screenplay) was released last year to 17% rating.

yeah I don't see it coming back, the forbes review and Richard Roeper's reviews still aren't up. To give people an example it was late, but Spider-man 3 was finally certified fresh by this point in time. Now that's a movie where the audience thought it was worse than the critics did, and this movie could well be the opposite, but just to give a point of reference. It's certainly not going to be certified fresh by release day which is bad.
and yet didn't receive the coveted A cinemascore or A- for that matter. B+ is solid though and should do 20 ish million over the weekend.
It just went back up to 60% and fresh. Lets hope it stays north of 59. If not, that "already green lighted" sequel will likely quietly join the Superman Returns sequel in the phantom zone.
CinemaScore doesn't mean a thing anymore. Every movie gets a B, B-, B+ even if they are bad.

I have seen the movie 4 times already, twice in IMAX.

That will all depend on the audience reaction. The Transformers franchise is critically abhorred, but the general audience keeps buying tickets so they keep making 'em.It just went back up to 60% and fresh. Lets hope it stays north of 59. See? I told you I hate cocky Snyder lol. I would've preferred someone like Matthew Vaughn or, wishful thinking, Darren Aronofsky to have helmed this film (since he was supposed to direct The Wolverine but backed out and the project was taken over by James Mangold). Snyder loves carnage and I hear this movie has lots of it and it contradicts Superman's motto to "protect all the innocents."
How was the IMAX experience?

I want to be fair, because I haven't seen the film yet. But I have not stake in seeing Snyder and Goyer on future projects. Goyer doesn't even like Superman and has publically said so.

I can imagine the WB suits watching these numbers making calls to the right people to get their (hopefully) positive review in sooner.
I'm sad to see this unfolding like this .
Was this how it was for Green Lantern fans?
I'm still hoping for a 100 ow but now it looks like that may be out of reach. I hope I'm wrong.
The Transformers movies did not have to deal with Superman Returns in their rear view mirror. MOS may be in a situation close to what the Incredible Hulk was in just a few years ago and we all know how that turned out.
Let's pray to the comic book movie gods that the positive reviews start pouring in.
