Christ influence....now that would be new.

Yeah, but it'd be Dafoe Christ.

Thor and CA didnt do any better than what Incredible Hulk did and Marvel considered that a flop
Superman is more relevant than any CA, Thor, and most of the Avengers. Iron Man and Hulk are the only two people I would say are up there.
Hell no to any more Christ references.
Off the top of my head, the current Action Comics run is better then Birthright and so are All Star Superman, Moore's classics, Brainiac, Superman and the Legion, Superman for All Seasons, Up, Up and Away, and Secret Identity.

What should be the run time of this movie.
Hmm...I don't want it to be longer than 2 hours. Just under two hours would be ideal.
think you're getting ahead of yourself again buddy.
I remember when everyone thought SR was going to be great
Agreed, it'd be nice if these things started tidying back down to two hrs than moving 15+ minutes longer. But hopefully that it is the director's and fully-intended cut...not one of whatever other versions to be released later. Of course some studios feel the need to capitalize more with one, but it starts to mislead viewers into thinking that there's always other versions of a film that should come out.
I hate to ask, but is this sarcasm? Because if you're in love with the footage, Nolan is not the one to thank.I just got emailed with the new leaked SDCC footage and just watched it...

OMG That was so epic and amazing beyond words! Nolan is my hero man... I have no words to express what I feel after he did justice for Batman for the Dark Knight Trilogy and made him more memorable. His and Zack's take on Superman with this CC trailer has touched me on so many levels... Batman's Legend was incredible when I saw TDKR. Now I'm looking forward to seeing Superman's Legend being told and done the right way and it made me have some many good feels I can't describe...

t:I'm like crying with epic tears of joy my #2 fave hero is redeemed and coming out next year. I can tell this film will have heart, effort and grit with grounded levels that what we've seen with Nolan's Batman maybe more.
It's going to be the best movie of 2013.

Exactly! Nolan being the producer is good enough for me and Zack as the director is also awesome aswell.Nolan got the approval for this project and he is credited as a story writer with Goyer (if you want to believe in IMDB.) and he is the co- producer, so if anyone feels like thanking Nolan, it is not entirely wrong.

Really? People were actually optimistic about it.I fully expected SR to fail because it wasnt a reboot but a continuation of a 30 year old franchise whose last 2 films sucked.I mean how cld any one not see the fail written all over it?Probably the crazy Donner love blinded them.

Well, they were only going off of the two that were good, and when you consider on all of the failed attempts, and how we almost got Tim Burton's Superman or other interpretations that probably would have damaged the character more than Joel did to Batman's character on screen...I think people were grateful that we were getting on what was closer to what people were familiar with back then, plus a lot of people had hoped that with Singer's work on the first x men films that he could do the same for Superman.
It was only after the release of more footage and getting to know the plot a lot better that the bad signs started to become more evident.
What about Prometheus a prequel (of sorts) to the Alien franchise whose last two films were awful and two awful AVP spin offs. Revisiting the past can work I admit looking back it wasn't a good idea to do a sequel to the Donnerverse but at the time no one knew what to do with Superman in comes Bryan Singer on the back of the massive success of X2 of course WB's listened to him.
Promethus wasnt exactly a prequel and it wasnt exactly worth all the hype so it doesnt really fit here.
Bryan Singer didnt make Xmen movies-he made Wolverine and Xmen movies. That should have been warning 1.Warning no 2 should have been that they actually thought it was a good idea to continue a dated franchise.A franchise with so much camp and corniness it would fail if released today. But of course Donner love blinds all.
Promethus was a loose prequel.Loose being the key word.SR was a sequel with little retconsThat's not my point with Prometheus u said they shouldn't have revisited the Donnerverse after the last two films were so bad but Prometheus revisited the Alien universe after the last two were bad.
I wasnt talking about WB .Iwas talking about fans.Iwas suprised that fans didnt see the fail written over SR and i surmised it waas because of Donner love.I'm not saying going back to the Donnerverse was a good idea infact it was a mistake at least the way SR's was executed but WBs were unsure what to do with Superman and of course your gonna listen to the guy who just made two very successful X-Men movies. Your opinion of them doesn't matter in this argument at all as the point is WBs want to nake money and will hire people who are successful. .
Im bashing the fact that it seems that fans let Donner love blind them from the fact that SR was a bad idea.Im *****ing about how fanboyism can sometimes stop fans from seeing truth when it should be so damn clear.I am not bashing Donner-it was good for its time.End of the day most fans wanted Superman rebooted but a lot do love the Donner films and we got caught up in it. Nothing wrong with that mistakes happen and we move on. That's what's happening now no need to bash love for the Donner films or SR's.
So I guess we have to ask ourselves, from what we know of MOS, does it objectively look to be a promising film or is our need for a new and great modern day Superman film, along with knowing who's involved with the project in terms of cast and crew blinding us from seeing it objectively? Hmmmmmm
