The Amazing Spider-Man Marc Webb to return? - Part 1

What on earth are you taking about "Webb made Gwen dress in the 60's" I know heaps of girls who have different dress styles. She dressed normal for me, nothing weird.

What is this better for you?

Or this as some suggested.

Gwen doesn't dress like a particularly normal girl, but not a slu* or anything type of clothing. Her parents are strict that's why, she's like TSSM Geeky Gwen.

You have a close minded look on how women dress if the only examples you put up are two attention-grabbing chicks posing right infront of a camera :lmao:

SpiderMarvelite was literally just talking about clothes. He's been in here

Hahahaha...he said sorry and Spider-Man forgave him. No director is that stupid...:D

he captured the spirit of spider-man pretty well and his theme of his story which imo is more important than comic accurate webshooters. Besides it was hardly cheesy compared to what came before it.
He captured a good Peter Parker for the first half hour of the first movie. I'll give him that...but it went downhill from there. Believe it or not, I care more about the essence of the character more so than mechanical web-shooters or having Gwen before MJ.

If Marc Webb has Peter kill Uncle Ben's killer or let him go free, I will be calling for another reboot and a removal of the director. Once the essence of the character is destroyed, the franchise dies with it in my eyes. And a cool train scene or the classic suit can't save it.

Now, having said that, I need to get back to drawing my cute characters...in hopes that they are my only chance out of poverty.

She looks great, clothes and all. I wonder if she's a screamer. I mean, I wonder if she'll be a damsel in distress in the sequel, and do nothing but get saved and scream for Spidey's help. Or will they continue to build on her character as a nice equal and a good match for that of Peter Parker.

Gwen dressed fine. Peter dressed fine.

Christ.
This, i particularly liked how Peter dressed. And Gwen looked cute with her fashion sense and thats good. In my mind Gwen was always cute and a match for Peter in intelligence while MJ was the spunky bombshell whose confidence overflows onto our shy Peter

And @KAW stuff like saying you get frustrated when people don't know as much about a particular thing as you doesn't paint you in a flattering light if you're trying to defend your points

from that final showdown in tasm she pretty much had a hand in saving everybody from turning into lizard people. And to top it off she has a higher gpa than peter. Lol im too damn invested in these characters.

That's what I'm talking about, that's what I want to see more of. Strong and smart women on screen is a 100 times more effective and attractive to these eyes than the hot chick begging to be saved. It's why I love how James Cameron/Ridley Scott handle their women characters on screen, every bit the hero and intellect as the man.

i agree.nothing sexier than a strong independent woman with wit. Like vesper from casino royale. Or gwen. Thats why kirstens's mj was so damn annoying. She always got kidnapped lol and she was just an emotionally weak and dependent "girl". Eff that!

I think Webb sees that in Gwen Stacy, which is why I wanted him to return to the movie he started. And so he shall. :)

comic book mj is like that aswell but with attitude. Hopefully webb will bring the mj we've been waiting for.

Two strong women in one franchise, isn't that asking for too much, but I hope so?

if they kill Gwen i hope it ends when Peter meets MJ,
a)if is the graduation season, i would like it to be like Spectacular Spiderman (the original way) or

b)kinda (500) of Summer style like Peter at highschool and this new girl sits Where Gwen used to be and Peter asks,
-Hi, do i know you
-No, im new, im Mary Jane
c) Gwen is alive when they meet

If MJ shows up there should not be a relationship between the two and only building on their friendship since we already saw the relationship between Peter and MJ with Raimi's take.

Gwen and MJ that would be great to build on. I wonder who will be the new characters in the sequel. I hope to see at least three, not counting whoever the villain is.

same characters..but the relationship could be different

Hahaha. Where Garfield looks into the camera and smiles and it goes to black, like Joseph Gordon Levitt in [500] Days? That would be hilarious.

I'm not sure that Gwen really counts as a particularly strong female character. She doesn't get kidnapped, sure, but the absence of what is considered a negative stereotype (although it really depends on context) doesn't really constitute a positive step. I guess you could say she's not a bad female character but I'd hesitate to call her strong when she doesn't actually overcome any difficulties or contribute anything particularly significant to the film. I'd think serviceable is a better adjective.

Maybe not strong, but I'd call her badass brave. Staying in the Lab, trying to hide the machine and fend off the Lizard.
