The Amazing Spider-Man Marc Webb to return? - Part 1

Not an example. The Avengers was built up mostly with after credits scenes and easter eggs. Captain America set up for the movie but ended with a cliff hanger, that's different than dropping subplots half way through the film.
they cut a scene from avengers and plan on using it in the captain america sequel.

That's exactly how took it. Superb moment in the film :)

It was a superb moment in the film...then a few seconds later he turns around and says he will break the promise and Gwen goes TEEEHHEEEEE:fhm:

I did't want to say this, but "Bland User" fits well for Chaster. No fun, everything must be the way you want. If it not, you have to ruin it for others.

Now he will retaliate:

Yeah, the breaking of the promise so soon and the lack of the Lizard's lab coat were my only real gripes about the film. I don't care what anyone says, that labcoat would of looked great if it was on more often! :D

He broke the promise, he will pay for that WITH GWENS LIFE. He will think that he should have listened to Stacy's wish, but he didn't. He screwed up, which leaves her dead.

Cmon easy guys.

#1. Thats a completely different senario.
#2. So? They used scenes that looked like they were filmed for Captain America: First Avenger, but they're weren't major scenes.

That example just doesn't work, they don't "Save things for sequels" because studios understand how hard it is to make these things and you can't predict too far into the future. They'll cut minor things but they won't cut major plot points in order to save them for a sequel, as you suggest.

Yet Chaseter has a point. It was a pointless moment for him to promise to Captain Stacy and then mention how those are the "best kind" to Gwen.

How hard is that to see?

Then he blames himself, which he then (Like the books) end up GROWING UP.

The broken promise at the end (for me) was a bad moment in the film but they can take that bad moment and make it a brilliant moment.
If and when they kill Gwen that can have a half second flashback to when Peter is kneeling besides the dying captain, if the people who skipped ASM will be confused but all the people who saw the movie this will be a powerful moment that will hit hard.

They could definitely make it into something brilliant but let's think about this for a second...what if there isn't a The Amazing Spider-Man 2? Then it'll be a stupid moment as it is right now until we see what happens next.

My, how nearsighted of you. I wonder what its like believing you live in a world where there won't be a trilogy of any installment of any superhero movie as big as Spider-Man. I'm pretty sure they confirmed the sequel before the film was even released. Didn't you get the memo?

He didn't get the Memo :oldrazz:

The sequel to Superman Returns was confirmed as well. Where is that film? Hrm? Things change and to imagine, for a second, that plans will never change is even more nearsighted

Okay buddy, not sure if comparing ASM to SR, or if you want to just start placing bets. Put my money on there being a sequel. :hehe:

I don't try. Smarmy is what I live for. I was born to smarm. In fact, I eat, sleep and breath smarmy.

I'm really just having a hard time believing anyone could possibly think Sony won't do another Spider-Man film, and with the lead actor and director already on board... and the outrage from their first attempt at rebooting why anyone would believe it wouldn't be a sequel to ASM.

If you recall, I said let's IMAGINE the possibility though. Superman Returns, Green Lantern...these films had subplots that would grow within their individual sequels that never happened, and if there was no TAS-M 2, that broken promise would seem kind of pointless and dull. I'm only saying what's true. Without a sequel, that broken promise would've been very stupid.

I know but thats like imagining there not being an Avengers 2/GotG. Would make the lead-in for Thanos quite pointless and dull.

In my experience its more fun to imagine that there will in fact be a sequel to a movie over the alternative on SuperHeroHype.com.

The Thanos lead-in wouldn't be pointless at all if we don't get a sequel because that villain could be used in a Guardians of the Galaxy film.

With Dredd there are no plot threads left dangling. If there is no sequel then Dredd 3D is a good stand alone movie, but C'MON there was ALWAYS going to be a sequel to ASM. Even if ASM had made half the amount there would have been a sequel.

No sequels = Marvel getting the rights back

That's why I enjoyed that whole bit. It's a set up for something terrible that will happen. It better happen lol.

The broken promise was awesome. I really wish the movie had ended there.

I don't understand why people don't like it. Gwen Stacy is Peter's second major lesson after Uncle Ben. Did people want her to die and have the lesson be "Well I kept my promise and stayed away from her, and she died anyway"? It's been perfectly set up.
