Wolverine's Brood costume was put up a few days ago for Halloween, look cool and it sounds like there's more Halloween costumes to come. I'm thinking werewolf Cap and some Marvel Zombies, but can't wait to see what other fun ones they've got lined up!

This is from a another on the up coming patch.

Hello,
We enjoyed playing with you guys this weekend and have a couple of upgrades we're making in the next patch based on our experiences and our desire to improving the game until we die of fun overload.
As you know, we are working to increase the fun of the game on a daily basis. We are usually on the exact same page about what fun is, so that makes things a lot easier.
With that in mind, we are making a few permanent buffs to the game that will increase the fun level. These will go into the patch Thursday:
Experience Changes
We’ve adjusted leveling time so it’s quicker, especially for those who complete the story and run Legendary Quests.
The experience rewards for Midtown (above level 20), Legendary Quests and Story Mode (all levels) have all been increased significantly, depending on level range. (Midtown 20-40%, Story 25-50%, Legendary Quests 300%).
These adjustments, along with the greatly increased experience from Legendary Quests, will also make the buff from experience item affixes, potions and synergies correspondingly more efficient.
When we add Asgard and Bronx Zoo zones to the game, we will do another full pass of the leveling curve since the story will be longer and we’ll ensure players are staying close to the level of the enemies.
We’re also looking into adjusting experience of bosses to correspond with their difficulty. Giving a bonus to the hardest bosses, such as Doom. This will require a testing period, so will likely come out mid-October.
Item Rarity
We think it's fun to find more items, so we are increasing the chances significantly, to roughly be equal to the current weekend.
There is now an increased chance of finding a rare, epic, cosmic or unique item from normal and elite enemies. For players who like to tend to clear zones of bad guys, they will see a 50%+ increase in loot quality.
Similar to the experience changes above, will also make the buff from rarity find items affixes, potions and synergies correspondingly more efficient.

Hello all,
As you know, we adjustment or fixed the majority of Legendary Quests with our last patch.
For this week's patch, we want to ensure everything else is captured and fixed to be A+.
Please provide feedback in this thread. Please take your time and think carefully about each answer.

  • Which quests are currently not working as you would expect, have some kind of bug, or are too vague?
  • Which quests are the most fun (this is useful for future quests)?
  • Which quests are the least fun (this is useful for future quests).
  • Are there any quests you would like to see added?
  • Have you noticed the large buff to experience and credits for Legendary Quests? (Both were tripled).
Thanks so much for any feedback you provide. The mission design team will be reading this thread throughout the day and week.

Wednesday Night Update
Hello all,
With the progress made internally today, this is where we are at:

  • Squirrel Girl has had a tuning pass and bug fix pass. Internal builds show her 99% ready to ship. A little more testing this evening and tomorrow should get her to 100%.
  • Spider-Man feedback and testing has been extraordinarily useful and the final tuning pass is almost complete internally. He should be ready for the public relaunch within 48 hours.
  • All outstanding hero and item bug fixes are in the system and either fixed or in the process of being fixed.
  • Loot has received another tuning pass, with items and experience buffed for Doop, story quests and all enemies who are targets of Legendary Quests, to provide extra reward for those who assist Odin. With this tuning pass, we should be within reach of the final vision of great-feeling loot for "casual" and hard-core players, alike.
  • Another round of queue testing was very useful. We will not be releasing it this week, but it looks good for release next week with some further tuning.
  • Every Legendary Quest bug or frustration has been aggressively addressed. We should see around 99% satisfaction when undertaking a Legendary quest after the next patch.
I estimate we'll be ready Friday morning for the patch after another 24 hours of testing, to be sure we got everything.
Thanks for all of the feedback over the last week in test center, it's been very helpful.
Have a great night.

Marvel Heroes: ‘Villains’ to Add to Marvel Heroes

We offer up a shortlist of playable villains we'd like to see in Marvel Heroes. Read on for our list and share your own with us in the comments!

The same sorts of questions are being asked now about Marvel Heroes that were asked when City of Heroes first released: where’s the villains? Now, I don’t know that Gazillion will ever go down the route that Cryptic (then developer of City of Heroes) did and create an entirely new game to give representation to Marvel’s more villainous types, but we have been hearing the developer talk of adding villains to the game that have been, perhaps for a time, on the other side of the fence.
Read more of Michael Bitton's ‘Villains’ to Add to Marvel Heroes.

With that in mind, I have a couple of villainous candidates in mind that I’d personally like to see added to the Marvel Heroes roster:
Songbird
Songbird (formerly Screaming Mimi) started her career as a villain, eventually joining Baron Zemo’s Masters of Evil. Zemo went on to form the Thunderbolts, a group of villains (including Songbird) that iinitially posed as heroes until they realized they actually enjoyed being heroes more. The Thunderbolts have a varied history in Marvel Comics lore, but Songbird has been with the group since its beginning and even acted as leader for a time alongside Hawkeye.
Songbird’s abilities come from her bionically modified vocal cords, giving her the ability to produce supersonic screams and even create sonic constructs, such as wings that enable her to fly. Aside from the potential for sheer damage her powers afford her, Songbird can produce screams of a specific note on the musical scale, each with different detrimental effects, ranging from causing anxiety to outright hallucinations. This presents an opportunity for some fairly interesting crowd control effects.
Given the lack of sonic powered heroes we have in Marvel Heroes at the moment as well as the somewhat poor male: female ratio of the current roster, I’d much rather see Songbird join the roster than the more obvious choice of Banshee.
songbird.jpg

Juggernaut
As a number of other characters on this list, the Juggernaut likely needs no introduction. The Unstoppable Juggernaut is one of the most iconic villains in Marvel Comics, but he’s also made a number of attempts to reform himself, including joining the X-Men at one point and later the Thunderbolts for a time.
Gameplay wise, there isn’t a whole lot that would set the Juggernaut apart from some of the game’s existing bruiser characters like Thing, Colossus, and the Hulk, but I could see Gazillion putting more emphasis on movement powers with Juggs and possibly a whole lot of Tenacity to make him truly unstoppable.
juggernaut.jpg

Elektra
Elektra has gone back and forth between hero and villain numerous times. Initially, Elektra began as an assassin for the Hand and then later the Kingpin. Her heroic ventures include stints with S.H.I.E.L.D, the Thunderbolts, and Heroes for Hire. Currently, Elektra is a member of the Thunderbolts under the Red Hulk. There are few Marvel characters that I can think of that have gone back and forth as much as Elektra has. Heck, this inner conflict was present even in her very soul (literally).
Truthfully, Elektra would probably be a somewhat boring addition to the Marvel Heroes cast from a gameplay point-of-view. Similar to the issues with the Juggernaut, there are already quite a few other characters in the Marvel Heroes roster that would likely bear a strong similarity to Elektra in terms of gameplay, though I’m sure Gazillion could come up with some interesting twists. After all, they took a simple brawler like Luke Cage and turned him into a pet class. Anything is possible.
That said, you can’t ever have too many ninjas and Elektra is one of the coolest Marvel ninjas of them all.
elektra.jpg

Magneto
Magneto has done some atrocious things in the Marvel universe, but he’s also a multidimensional character with a lot of depth and nuance. Magneto isn’t often a villain to be a villain; he’s simply an extremist. And yes, even that puts it lightly given some of the things he’s done. Still, Magneto has made several attempts at reformation, including leading the New Mutants and even now serving as a member of the X-Men under a much more hardline Cyclops.
Of all the characters we’ve mentioned today, Magneto offers the most interesting gameplay possibilities as the master of magnetism. As a villain players already fight in Marvel Heroes, we have an idea of the nature of his powers, such as his ability to generate a massive force-field and bend metal around characters, crushing them slowly over time. I’d like to see Gazillion use Magneto as an opportunity to make heavy use of the game’s interactive and destructible environment. It’s one thing being able to pick up cars as the Hulk and throw them at enemies, but how about having a character like Magneto manipulate these objects at range?
magneto.jpg

Venom
The symbiote has had many hosts, but even the most iconic version of the villainous Venom (Eddie Brock) was really more of an anti-hero. Sure, he took things to the extreme when fighting crime, but his intentions were frequently in the right place. Venom is one of the easier villains to justify adding to the game, as the character is vastly different from host to host. Heck, even Flash Thompson gets a go as “Agent Venom”.
On the gameplay front, Venom would probably play as a bit of a cross between the game’s existing bruiser characters and the more agile fighters such as Spider-man. I’d love to see Gazillion put an emphasis on the shapeshifting properties of the symbiote, in particular. Venom should be able to manifest tendrils, claws, and the like and lash out at his foes from mid-range.
venom.jpg

Which anti-heroes or villains do you think would fit in on the Marvel Heroes roster and why? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below!

And from what I have seen on the MH forums Rogue will be coming as a playable character. So the list now is Gambit, Nightcrawler, iceman, Ghost rider Psylocke Silver surfer and add to all that Moon Knight. Doomsaw stated on TC last night that Asgard patch is coming either by Halloween or the week after.

Hi folks,
Apologies for the downtime today.
A complicated sequence of adjustments for Legendary Quests led to them awarding more credits than intended under certain circumstances. Because of the nature of the bug, it was not something that could be noticed in test center or internal builds - only when it was combined with actual live player "states" could it be seen.
We've gone live with a build from yesterday, which doesn't include a few recent changes (mostly a few Luke Cage changes) and still has Legendary Quests awarding zero credits for now. This will be fixed early next week.
We will not rollback servers in any way or remove any credits from players. The overall impact was not gamebreaking or particularly significant in the grand scheme of things.
We will be offering a bonus exp and loot bonus starting at 9AM PST Saturday and running to 9AM PST Monday.
Thanks very much for your patience and understanding and I'll see you online this weekend!

Marvel Heroes announces Asgardian content, playable Loki

Marvel Heroes is a game known for its ability to suck players in to the universe of Marvel superheroes. Its linear play is also augmented by the much more open area of downtown Manhattan, and there is no other MMO that allows you to control heroes from all of Marvel's timelines and universes, from the movie franchises to the classic comics. And now we've learned the game is gearing up for a very nice update in November.

So what's in store for this patch? Well, it just so happens that Marvel's latest movie, Thor: The Dark World, is coming out in a week or so. Gazillion Entertainment couldn't very well sit back and let the moment get away, could it? So it created an entire suite of content based around Asgard, Thor, and the new movie.

We asked Jeff Donais, Creative Director, some questions to find out all of the details. Warning: There might be spoilers below! Continue Reading

Loki will be launching with our first Asgard patch and will be coming to Test Center VERY soon.
Here is a brief summary of Loki from @MichaelMayhem in the design team...
Loki is a versatile caster, specializing in debuffs and illusions to excel in combat. As a descendant of the Frost Giants of Jotunheim, Loki's attunement with ice magic is superb, channeling ice and frost to hinder enemies. His mastery of magic allows him to manipulate enemies, hindering their ability to fight, or even turning them against one another. Whether through ice or arcane magic, Loki's powers flow into each other, allowing him to take full advantage of the debuffs he weaves onto enemies.
In addition to magical arts, The God of Mischief is capable of creating identical illusions of himselfto trick foes.
Illusions can only be maintained for a short time - continuously creating them is the key to overcoming powerful enemies. These illusions are projections of Loki and will react to commands he performs, synchronizing their attacks to hide who the true Loki is. As with anyone serving Loki, illusions are expendable, and can be detonated with great force when the trickster no longer has need of them.

A second look at the Free to Play ARPG Marvel Heroes

A second look at the Free to Play ARPG Marvel Heroes

by John Gillooly | Thursday 7 November 2013 | 6 Comments
ImageResizer.ashx

With the game about to hit version 2.0, we return to this rapidly evolving online game, and like what we see.

We last looked at the free to play Action RPG Marvel Heroes as it exited its beta phase, and while we were generally impressed by its direction, we had some fairly serious worries about the game in the longer term.
Our major issue, that we were experiencing some fairly serious lag when using the beta servers, disappeared by launch time, while other worries about the long term viability of the game have been put to rest with ongoing work put into the title by developer Secret Identity Studios.
This weekend marks the first major milestone for the game since its launch, with the release of patch 2.0, timed to coincide with Thor: The Dark World hitting cinemas globally. This new patch not only brings with it new content set in Norway and Asgard, but also a raft of long promised UI changes, new item types and the most villainous playable hero so far, Loki (There has been talk of introducing more villains from the marvel universe in the future, after all, the nature of comic books means that pretty much every villain turns magento-like into a hero at times, briefly forgetting the crimes of the past).
But before we look at this new content, it is worth stopping and taking a look at the game as it stands. One of a growing number of Action RPGS being released as free to play titles, Marvel Heros thrusts players into the Marvel comics universe with a chance to play as many of the iconic heroes from the comics. This involves a huge mix of characters, from the iconic ones like Wolverine, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man and Spiderman, all the way down to more obscure members of the Marvel pantheon, like the recently released Squirrel Girl and the “soon to be movie famous” Rocket Raccoon.
Since the game’s launch, it has recieved numerous new characters to play, and the developers are currently working on releasing at least one every month (this month will start with Loki, which was a surprise announcement last week, and should also include X-Men’s Gambit as well). But more than this, the team is in the middle of a long process of going back through the initial roster of heroes and revamping them, tweaking abilities and playstyle to make them all feel like the superheroes they are supposed to be.
Not only is this being done to ensure that all the characters are fun to play, but also to ensure they stay up to date with the vast number of changes made to the underlying mechanics of the game since release. One of the most refreshing things about marvel heroes is the interaction between developers and players. Not only does the team actively seek out player feedback when making changes, but in some notable cases it has implemented suggestions from forum users in spite of what seemed rigid stances being taken against design philosophies.
Generally speaking the changes made to marvel heroes since launch have led to positive quality of life improvements to the game. New heroes can be unlocked through the cash store, or through the collection of ‘Eternity Splinters’, ingame drops that happen with fair regularity. Low amounts can be gambled on a random hero, or you can save more to unlock specific heroes at different pricing teirs. This has led to a much more enjoyable system than the original one, which had heroes as drops with an incredibly low drop rate.
This has also led to such things as a revamped defense system, which now uses a percentage damage reduction, despite the fact that lead designed David Brevik (of Diablo 2 fame) was vocally against percentage based systems. The initial defense mechanic just wasn’t working for a lot of melee heroes at maximum level, so it was changed, and done so in a pretty quick timeframe.
In many ways this quick turnaround from concept to implementation is the most impressive thing about the ongoing evolution of Marvel Heroes. Things are announced, discussed, and then often pop up in a patch a week or two later. It happens to everything from content to game systems, and has led to it rapidly becoming one of the most enjoyable ARPGS out there. Things aren’t perfect, and there are still some big holes when it comes to end game enjoyment, but more is on the way with the Asgard patch, with the promised introduction of group content like raids (in which the philosophy is to encourage short blasts of team-focused gameplay, rather than get players to commit serious chunks of their lives, Wow-style, to the experience).
Asgard also brings in a bunch of improvements to itemisation. In recent months this has been expanding through the inclusion of unique, character specific items with very low drop rates, but with Asgard players received slots to equip more artifacts (trinkets that boost specific build types), up to four from the initial two, as well as new legendary items which level up over time. These reward players for continuing to play as their toons after hitting level cap, rewarding those who focus down on a single character, and work alongside the synergy system that was recently introduced for the more alt-focused players. Synergies give your characters small boosts based off the other characters you have levelled.
The process of unlocking Asgard is set to run for several weeks, with content slowly trickling out through patches and player activity. When it launches this weekend, it will be a refreshing content boost for players, and will continue to build upon the already impressive body of content added to the game since launch. It has been quite some time since we have experienced a title that has evolved at such a rapid pace, one that has focused on making things more fun rather than constantly nerfing characters to a homogenised state. If you are a fan of the Marvel universe this is a game that is well worth a look, even if you tried it at launch and were put off.

Marvel Heroes 2.0 update adds Loki and Asgard

Thor: The Dark World is out in theaters today, and in a stunning coincidence, Marvel Heroes is delivering an Asgard-themed update at the very same time.

Game Update 2.0, Gazillion's "biggest content update ever," has two big features. First up is the Asgard hub, where players will meet to go on a series of new missions through the otherworldly zones. And since Thor is already in the game, 2.0 introduces the next best thing, Loki, the god of mischief. Loki is a sorcerer who has two outfits available, the film edition and the not-tacky-at-all comic book version.

Even if Asgard doesn't delight you, there's a reason for the entire playerbase to rejoice: Gazillion is expanding the starting roster of free heroes from five choices to nine. You can read up on these additions as well as the new legendary and ring item slots in the official patch notes.

LOKI JOINS MARVEL HEROES

Loki has been added to Marvel Heroes! Loki is the Norse god of mischief and evil and the adopted son of Odin All-Father, the ruler of Asgard. He is crafty, clever, and resourceful, using sorcery to achieve his intricate goals.
Loki resents the glory and acclaim given to his adoptive brother, Thor, and he strives to place himself on the throne of Asgard. However, on the rare occasions when his goals overlap with Thor or other heroes, Loki has been to ally himself with those he would otherwise detest.

When I first heard that Marvel Heroes, by Gazillion Entertainment, was not going to allow players to make unique, customizable heroes to fight alongside classic Marvel characters, I felt the same as many of our readers did. I was shocked, hurt, and then angry. What on Earth would inspire a developer to skip not only one of the most important aspects of an MMO -- character customization -- but skip it in an IP that is begging for character customization? Instead of checking the game out, I walked away and played other titles.

But I've given it a chance over the last few weeks and had a discussion with Jeff Donais from Gazillion, and now I realize that the developers were never attempting to make an open-world sandbox with infinitely customizable characters. Instead they have made a linear story-based romp with tons of loot, plenty of explosions, and more classic Marvel characters than you can shake an adamantium claw at. Getting over preconceptions and imagining a dungeon-crawler that is set in the Marvel universe will bring you closer to understanding Marvel Heroes. Continue Reading

One constant to the Marvel universe is that no matter how big your last enemy might be, there's always someone waiting in the wings to make things even worse. Sure, the players of Marvel Heroes have defeated Victor Von Doom and shut down his nefarious plans... but someone was waiting to take all of his power just offscreen, someone with just as much of a chip on his shoulder. Now it's Loki's time to shine.

Yes, the next major installment for Marvel Heroes is here now, and it's focusing on all of the Norse goodies you would imagine. That means new items, new enemies, new areas, and the Trickster himself as a playable character. You can log in right now to start adventuring across the Bifrost Bridge into Asgard proper, but if you're at work or something similar, you can ease the wait by taking a look at the new trailer past the break. • @Doomsaw confirms Dr. Strange is one of the next five heroes to be releasedhttps://forums.marvelheroes.com/discussion/38296/next-5-heroes-confirmed-by-doomsaw/p1
  • I am inferring that Dr. Strange will fall under the same price tier as Loki, as @Doomsaw states this is where "most" heroes will behttps://forums.marvelheroes.com/discussion/comment/487512/#Comment_487512
  • I am inferring that Dr. Strange will be released ~3-4 weeks after Moon Knight. Dr. Strange is the most difficult release date I've tried to predict, a) since he's so far out and who knows what the game will look like next March, and b) his kit could require drastic new coding/development or very little. His power set is more complex than a lot of the Heroes released so far (ie: the brawlers, ex: Luke Cage, Moon Knight, etc.), but a lot of his potential powers could use existing tech from other heroes (Scarlet Witch, Loki, Emma Frost, Jean Grey, etc.). That said, his development may or may not require an additional week from the release of the previous hero. Furthermore, if I had to guess, I would imagine The Sorcerer Supreme would cost 400 ES, since Loki is such a similar character in terms of kit. Dr. Strange also does not have any upcoming movie tie-ins or other-media promotions, so I would not expect him to merit a 600ES price tag that the more popular heroes have (Spider-Man, Iron-Man, Deadpool). However, it will be interesting to see how much G he costs, if he does end up a 400 ES hero. I would again go with my gut and say he will be 900G like Loki

X-23

Tentative Release Date

  • 2014
Tentative Availability

  • 200 ES
Sources

  • @Doomsaw mentions that X-23 will likely be a 200ES herohttps://forums.marvelheroes.com/discussion/comment/493744/#Comment_493744
  • I have been unable to track down further information on X-23's release date apart from the fact that @Doomsaw namedropped her when talking about hero prices. It sounds like her kit will be simple (ie: similar to Wolverine's), so we might be seeing her sooner than we think. Community members have voiced there concerns about X-23 being too similar to Wolverine due to character/personality differences. Depending on how Gaz takes this feedback, her kit might become more complex/new and her price may be bumped.
MAGIK

Tentative Release Date

  • 2014
Tentative Availability

  • 900G
  • 400 ES
Sources

  • @Doomsaw states that Magik will be playable in the future.https://forums.marvelheroes.com/discussion/comment/507637/#Comment_507637
  • If i had to guess, I would imagine Magik would be a 400ES hero, like most of the new ones will be. Her stepping disc powers will not be difficult since there are so many teleporting powers in game already, there are summonable demons in-game already, and she has some animations in Colossus' new summon ability. I would not expect significant design work required such that she would cost 600ES.
and

UPCOMING HEROES (CONTINUED)

MR. FANTASTIC

Tentative Release Date

  • 2014
Tentative Availability

  • 900G
  • 400 ES
Sources

  • @Doomsaw talks about the potential difficulties of Mr. Fantastic depending on "how they do him", which makes it sound like he is confirmed.https://forums.marvelheroes.com/discussion/comment/466816/#Comment_4668162
  • I see Reed pricing similar to Emma. He doesn't quite have the popularity to demand top dollar like Iron Man and Spider Man, but he was part of the flagship Marvel team in its advent years. 1100G sounds right to me, but I wouldn't be outrageously surprised if it gets bumped up to 1450G/600ES. He will probably be 900G now that Brevik as confirmed the elimination of the 1100G price tier.
INVISIBLE WOMAN

Tentative Release Date

  • 2014
Tentative Availability

  • 900G
  • 400 ES
Sources

ROGUE

Tentative Release Date

  • 2014
Tentative Availability

  • 1350G
  • 600 ES
Sources

  • @Doomsaw discusses the potential difficulties of Rogue depending on how they set her up.https://forums.marvelheroes.com/discussion/comment/466816/#Comment_466816
  • Based on @Doomsaw's feedback, Rogue sounds like she will require extensive design work. Her ability to absorb any metahuman's powers will likely require a lot of new coding, and as such she will probably cost top dollar. Like her on-again-off-again love interest Mr. Lebeau, she probably has the popularity to go for 1450G/600ES. However, now that Gambit will cost 900G/400ES, she might end up going for cheaper...
PSYLOCKE

Tentative Release Date

  • 2014
Tentative Availability

  • 900G
  • 400 ES
Sources
@GreenArmadillo said: Doomsaw confirmed for me on Twitter that Psylocke will make it "next year".

  • I would imagine Psylocke will be a 900G hero upon release. Her power set (psyblade attacks/martial arts, telepathy/telekinesis) are not anything that suggest new and unique design work.

Hey everyone, just letting you all know that Gambit's Hero Pack is up for presale now!
You can find it here: Gambit Hero Pack - Presale
This pack includes Gambit in his default Modern Costume, his Classic Costume, his Hero S.T.A.S.H., and just like the last pack - 1 of each Fortune Card and a Retcon Device.
As always, presale is 10% off the normal pack price and this discount is limited until Gambit is released... which will likely be pretty soon. So don't wait too long!

Hero Pack

10% OFF Presale Pack available for a limited time only!

After rescuing a de-aged Storm from the Shadow King, Gambit was brought back to the X-Mansion where he eventually joined the X-Men. As a mutant, Gambit possesses the ability to convert the potential energy in an object into destructive kinetic energy. Gambit utilizes this power mostly in the form of throwing kinetically charged playing cards which explode on impact, or by super charging his extendable bo staff.

Gambit and his fellow X-Man Rogue have an unsteady relationship, with a nearly equal mix of time together and time apart.

(You will receive the contents of this pack upon release of Gambit)Items Included in this Pack:

  • Gambit
  • 2 Costumes (Gambit Modern Costume (Default), Gambit Classic Costume)
  • Gambit Hero S.T.A.S.H. (extra Hero specific inventory, costumes will appear here)
  • 3x Fortune Cards (One each of Mark 1, 2, and 3)
  • 1 Retcon Device

Costumes Included:

Ok here's everything From the Q&A

formatted @Doomsaw's AMA for easy reading below. Enjoy!
Question:
I'd just like to know if Ghost Rider is still on track for a December release. If so…
Answer:
Yes, the focus right now is getting his movement power to feel good. We are determining whether we should add stuff like acceleration, turning radius and other “realistic” psysics to his bike or just make it smooth and “fun”. We are also working on the modeling for his molten chains and his shotgun animations.
Question:
Hey Doomy, Are you guys at all concerned about how fast new heroes are being put out? Every hero to date since launch has had to be patched in one way or another...could some of those problems have been solved with more testing before release?
Answer:
BubbaGump - that’s a great question. I am impressed with the speed of hero creation and I think it’s a reasonable rate. The reality is that the is no testing that is as good as having a hero actually released and having tons of people trying it out in different ways. I think it’s expected that when a hero is released, there will be some bug fixes or tuning changes in the week or two after released. That’s reality and it should be planned for. You could test anything (new heroes, new enemies, new items, new content) internally or on a test server and never find issues that you will find on live.
So the best course of action is to plan ahead for it, be prepared and move effectively and expediently.
Question:
Any idea when Thanos is going to appear?
Answer:
Yes!
Question: Are there any plans at all to possibly make Marvel Heroes available on consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One in the future?
Answer:
We intend to focus the team 100% on the PC version, to make it as polished and excellent as possible for the PC specifically. We may have small apps that coordinate with the game in some way to allow you to earn something while you’re in class...

Question:Will other marvel movies intertwine with the game such as how Thor the dark world did with the new chapter Asgard?
Answer:
Yes, we intend to do smart and fun stuff to coincide with movie releases here and there. It’s good advertising and the Thor movie has shown us that we get a lot of new players to try the game during these cross-promotions. Marvel also loves it and helps us a ton with early content.
Question:
Hello Doomsaw,
What's it like working on a really awesome game?
Answer: It's a huge responsibility, but it's also fun to play something that you help to design.
Question:
Speaking of new heroes, how is the development of Dr. Strange coming along?
Answer:
It’s coming along well. It is a challenge to decide which powers to include for a guy who can do literally whatever he wants. Ryolnir’s ridiculously detailed knowledge of every storyline is influencing his design.
Question:
Hey Doomsaw ! PvP in Marvel Heroes sometime feels like it could use some balancing (one shot kills, some heroes feels like not dealing any damage despite the 10 level range)... I'm pretty sure the gear makes it hard balancing PvP in a game like this, and I know Gazillion is reviewing the heroes.. What part does the PvP takes when it comes to balancing heroes compared to PvE ?
Thanks !
Answer:
Hello sir!
Yes, PVP is in the extremely early stages of testing, so our course we should expect 1-shot kills, 1 minute games, etc. for about a week or two. Anyone who has ever created a PVP game will tell you it takes awhile to get everything to a fun balanced state. Thankfully, we have a lot of systems in place to move towards a balanced state. It’s progressing exactly as anticipated and we got tons of invaluable information in the first couple of days. Today’s patch will move us 1 step closer to a balanced mode and we will need about 5-10 more steps to get to a solid place. I have no fear about it.
We don’t need to balance PVE and PVP at all - they are completely separate. We can add cooldowns, damage modifiers and durations to powers in PVP and it never affects PVE, they are completely separate backend systems. We took the time to build this and are using it exactly as it should be used.
Question:
When will the item trading interface be added to the game, and will we be able to trade Unique items?
Answer:
We are working on an item trading interface to launch in early 2014. The main development time is to ensure it’s 100% sure and cannot be exploited in any way to protect honest players.
Uniques items have always been “self-found” and will always remain that way. It’s important for certain items to be tradeable to support a healthy and reasonable trading environment, but also have a few rare items that are self-found for players, which is a role that uniques fill (along with Legendary items and a few other very rare item types).
