The last I can recall he lost his powers during the Greg Pak mini series then regained them at the end but lost what was left of his humanity in the process. He ended up with Galactus again and appeared in Fraction's Thor run.

I didn't care for that issue and I never read that Thor arc. The Surfer mini was really good though.

That Surfer/Galactus arc is literally the only worthwhile thing about Fraction's The Mighty Thor. It was actually a really fun all-out battle between the Asgardians and Galactus.

I'll believe it when I see Rich back and possibly co-starring in either Nova or the upcoming New Warriors series. I'm sure they'll bring him back eventually, just because fan demand has to be fairly high by now. But it's all kind of pointless if they bring him back just to let him hang around in obscurity without regular appearances in a comic, isn't it?

Wow, I didn't even recognize Sunspot there. Have he and Cannonball received good characterization in that book? Any good moments? Do they interact much with the other members or are they kept mainly isolated with each other

The team is so damn big, none of them have a chance to stand out. I'm hoping that's one area Hickman scales back after Infinity. I'd like to see a set team of 7-8 members and let them interact.

Considering that he and Spencer are launching Avengers World, I doubt it.

Wouldnt that make sense then to scale back the cast of Avengers bc they ARE launching Avengers World? You have Avengers with the smaller focused cast and World with the larger cast and scope

They're not scaling it back. They will be focusing on the smaller characters more though.

I really don't have an interest in Avengers: World. I'm fine with the main book and New Avengers (even though the name is stupid at this point). I enjoy Avengers A.I. as well.

I get why they wanted to name it New Avengers since apparently only books with "X-Men" or "Avengers" in the title sell anymore. But you'd think with the cast of the book they would've been able to get away with calling it "Illuminati", or at the very least "Avengers Illuminati", and it still sell.
