Marvel Now - Part 5

Heeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooo Image Books... :csad:

Perhaps I'm cynical but I don't think any of these changes will be long lasting.

By the time these characters are appearing in another movie the comics will probably revert back to the status quo.

Certainly seems like marvel is trying to get fans to WANT a reboot, given all this nonsense going on in the comics

I went to my comic store the other day, first time in months, and there was not a single issue i felt compelled to by.

And now it looks to be that way until at least october.

This is all so f'in stupid.
The movies are all i look forward to these days

-Am I the only person actually looking forward to the stories that can be told with the new versions of the characters? Everyone else seems to have predetirmined that it's all one big failure....

I'm not. Marvel has done this all before in the early 90's. Cap died from Super Soldier Serum poisoning, Iron Man was replaced with a teenage version of himself because the other one was reconnected as a spy for Kang, Thor was dead or something, Spider-Man was a clone, Daredevil went all Batman on us. It all led to Marvel doing a "Putting the Character back in Comics" slogan where they had to fix everything because sales went to s**t.

Wow people here are dramatic. I'm surprised there is so much complaining about changes, especially when everyone complains about the status quo.

Marvel Now has been awful. They got me to tune out when they launched this a couple of years back and this next wave of reboots will do nothing but further drive me away.

It's been great for me. Thor: God of Thunder, (most of) Hickman's Avengers stuff, Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel's relaunch, She-Hulk and a bunch of other stuff has been fantastic.

I think we wanted innovative stories told about the characters we know and love. Not to replace them.

Well it is understandable after all that Iron Man suit is ugly as hell. :oldrazz:

I'd rather they do another take on MC2U, or whatever the way they name Spider-Girl's Universe
Go for legacies, give the new characters their turn, and make new characters
Probably that people love more *****ebag Tony storylines :oldrazz:
Could be

I actually dont care if they reboot the MU, I mean restart the origins and all. As long as they don't turn out like the ultimate universe.

I'm really excited, there is always going to be people who complain. The people who complain online represent a fraction of the people buying the comics anyway. I can guarantee the new Thor book and All-New Captain America are going to sell beautifully. People always complain about no diversity in comics and now we're getting it and people still hate. Also the fact that Dr.Strange, Winter Soldier, Medusa, Ant-Man, Deathlok, and Scarlet Witch are getting some spotlight is so amazing!

all soon to be in MCU movies

I enjoy Marvel Now. I think it was a smart response to the New 52 and sparked some good stories and creative teams.

I'll give Marvel a lot of credit in that the new black Captain America actually feels like a genuine move to make as opposed to a lot blatant diversity for diversity sakes moves that the Big Two tend to make. IMO, the true diversity for female, LGBT, and minority characters is coming from indie comics, not from the corporate owned, IP mining, focus-group oriented DC and Marvel.

I would really be behind Sam as Captain America if it weren't for the fact that this stunt hasn't just been pulled only a few years ago with Bucky filling in the mantle. Also I find myself really annoyed on how Marvel is relaunching Captain America yet again. I really just want a nice and organized numbering system as opposed to having seven different Captain America #1s. The new numbering is even more aggravating when it's the same creative team behind the relaunch.

I have no problems with renumbering if it marks the start of a new creative team. In fact, I think it makes things easier to organize. If there is no new creative team I don't think there should but a new #1, even if the story is changing direction.

I like what they have Cyclops doing with Magik and them but most of the rest of the MU is meh.

I find it to be a mess to organize. You should see how bad my Hulk collection is because of all the re-titlings and renumberings. Captain America, Daredevil, and Fantastic Four also have some really odd placements due to this crap as well.

People do realize these changes are temporary, right?
Exactly, it's yet another reason why I'm just not excited for this. Sam will be Captain America for two years tops and Steve will be back. Status-quo changes like this just can't be exciting when you know that they're just going to bring Steve back eventually.

Now if this were permanent, I would be pleasantly surprised.
