Mass Effect 2

I think the male Shepard voice actor does a particularly good job in ME 1 and 2. Especially on the renegade options. His voice practically has a built-in sneer.

He was okay in 2, but I think he was a little too dry in the first game.

I feel like femshep's voice actor does a better job overall, but unfortunately I find her nearly insufferable. She has this snide inflection on nearly every line of dialogue that drives me nuts.

I just like making male Shep tell people to shut up. That renegade interrupt when you first meet Mordin is great. :D

I will say, one issue I have in ME2 is the choices that make you a renegade or paragon. Example - Mordin's loyalty mission on Tuchanka (sp?) where that one Krogan from the rival clan is giving his speech about how they'll spread across the galaxy in fire and fury and leave death and destruction in their wake, ect.

You get the option to shoot the gas tank under him... but if you do it's a renegade choice.

Wha? Why? The dude wants to kill everyone in the galaxy that isn't Krogan... and... you end up fighting him anyway. I don't see that as something "renegade." I guess it's not a paragon option of "lets discuss this over tea.."

Another option, when you're on your way to find "Archangel" and you can knock the one leader of the Blue Suns or whatever out... but if you do it's renegade...

I dunno, I often wish there was a "middle ground" in ME... because IMHO when it comes to saving the galaxy choices shouldn't just be black and white.

Why is it Renegade? Because it's not exactly peaceful or diplomatic, is it?

As for the Archangel mission, you're basically electrocuting and possibly killing the guy, and that pretty much amounts to murder. He's just a mechanic.

And there's plenty of middle ground in ME, but it's up to you to make it. Only in my very first ME1 games did I have a "pure" Paragon or Renegade character. Ever since then, my character winds up handling situations based on how that particular Shepard would handle the situation.

Ok, I'll give you the mechanic one... but still, in regards to the Krogan.. there is a time for diplomacy, I really don't think that was a time, more so when we see the result isn't diplomatic anyway.

I just think you shouldn't be punished with renegade points for taking out an obvious madman.

Granted, it shouldn't be a paragon option either... it should just be an extra choice.

Also, it's not really a complaint as I'm often paragon give or take a few choices that just don't feel renegade to me... I'd like however for ME3 to have an obvious gray area. I know that you can chose a "middle ground" in ME... but, I'd like to see it become more of a paragon/renegade style option.

If that never happens... no big deal, ME2 is as close to a perfect game as possible IMHO. Again, not really a complaint of mine... maybe just a tiny nitpick.

I absolutely agree, in particular when dealing with Conrad Verner his delivery is spot on, "Conrad... This is not acceptable." *BLAM*

Another gem is while speaking with Morinth about music, "If you've heard of it, its already too mainstream for me."

ME2 has arguably the BEST case of characterizaion in any RPG Ive seen. There is just sooo much dialogue, above and beyond what Id expect. Its really refreshing to see the characters react and comment on the various situations you come across.I like just going around talking to them, just to hear their input and they dont just give generic answers. I love the loyalty missions and I think ME2 did a better job at making you care for the characters than ME1. I dont think I really connected with any of the squad members in ME1 except for Wrex and maybe Liara. Definetly not the case here as everyone adds alot and is really fleshed out

I just can't get into Wrex. I've tried, but he just doesn't interest me. Or the other human guy whose name I can't even remember that I made die over Ashley. He was boring.

I didnt care for Wrex, but I thought he at least had an interesting backstory which unlike some other characters, actually was a part of the main plot.

Kaiden was forgettable. I chose to let him die in the first game. I did like that if you listen to the news reports in ME2, they mention that an academy for biotics was created in his name. I thought that was a nice tough

Wrex is one of, if not my favorite character in Mass Effect. Wasn't the guy who voiced Kaiden also the same dude who voiced the annoying guy that I couldn't stand in KotOR?

hmm I don't think i can call a guy like kaiden boring when he killed an abusive trainer that was gonna kill his class mate's also one he liked specifically him self and may be him as well so that sob of a trainer would get results and a triller of killing people in his care. . something about that just doesn't sound right. oh that makes him boring. just odd.

But that's just me I kinda miss him and wouldn't mind if he were still alive and showed up in 3 as a bad ass. having be stranded on a planet after that Explosion and every thought he was dead. he's he's prepairing for revenge on the reapers him self. hehe that wouls be interesting . then again I think I said that before.

yeah but I wanted to have sex with her. to get the damn achievement. lol. oh that sound so wrong. but any ways if they give me the option as I just said in 3 I'd be cool with it. I'd like to have him back. you can have the option of him being still being dead in you univers if you choose to or to have come back as a bad ass and surprise /unexpected help. if they broght back shep they can bring him back too cyborg looking or what ever. point is she should be pissed about being blow up and left on planet and not looked for to see if he was dead. his anger should at the reapers only seeing serens dead. just saying.

Pretty much how I play mine. Based on Shep's backstory and who Shep befriends. In the first game, I filled my Renegade meter, but I saved the Councl, Feros and Racni

Oh, and I'll go out and stick myself out on a thin limb:

I think this "Arrival" DLC we're waiting on is going to be the swan song for our Virmire Survivor, just like Lair of the Shadow Broker was there to wrap up Liara. And look at that, an achievement titled "Ultimate Sacrifice." Do the math.

I won't mind being wrong in the slightest, but I'm thinking that's how it's going to play out. Though it would raise a bit of heck with Hudson's original want to have romance options imported all the way through to ME3.

Although I'm definitely keyed in on Miranda in ME2, I wish there is a way to continue your romance with Ashley in the sequel. If that is the case, then I'd replay ME1 in the future just so I can have another go-around with her after I import the save game.

She'll most certainly be back for 3 methinks. I think Bioware needed to keep the branching paths under control and as it stands now they at least know your Virmire Survivor is still alive atm which means they can send plot relevant stuff their way in the next game.

Yeah, I don't think we'll see Ashley again until 3, where I won't be surprised if she's apart of your crew.
