I lend the game out to my brother in law and so I haven't seen the extended cut yet..But so are people still b******g or have accepted this new ending??

I'm just curious,I downloaded it cause it was free and just to have something extra But I got over the ending thing LONG ago!!

I'd say so far the general consensus is that the new endings are at the very least acceptable, there's definitely a lot more people now saying that they're actually good (like myself).

Angry Joe, Jeremy Jahns and even the guy who filed the FTC complaint have given a thumbs up on the extended ending and those were some of the loudest voices following the game's initial release.

The sticking point right now seems to be centered around the Refuse ending, but whichever side you come down regarding that, its most definitely not the ending controversy MK II.

I'm replaying Thessia. Brought Javik along this time. Him convincing the Asari to fight and telling the Prothean VI that this cycle deserves a chance to fight are good scenes. Bringing Javik to Thessia gives him a nice little conclusion to his character arc.

Yeah the Javik on Thessia stuff is some of the best material regarding that character. It seems almost central to his character arc in some ways.

I still think it's an absolute crime that Javik's Thessia dialogue was left out of the full release and saved for DLC.

Seriously: the convos he has about the entire Asari physiology and the roots of their religion should not have been missed by any player. It's really stupid and greedy that they cut it out for DLC.

To be honest, I don't really mind Day 1 DLC provided the DLC comes free with new copies. ME2 did it with Zaeed and it was totally fine, the difference here was that unless you had the CE you had to separately pay for Javik which was obviously pushing things too far.

I'm interested to see what happens regarding DS3 and DLC.

If it's free to everyone IDC. Hell, I got the ME3 CE so I got it free and I still think it's bogus that they made everyone else pay.

Also, Javik wasn't as much of a throwaway as Zaeed was. I like Zaeed, but it's not like you're missing anything important if he's not in your game. Javik has some really deep insights into the mythos of the ME universe. To not include him for free is a bit of a ***** move IMO.

I think we're saying the same thing more or less.

Edit:

I've got a couple of comic things here.

The third issue of that Homeworlds comic is out this month, I don't think the last two covers have been posted yet:

I think the Garrus one actually sounds like it could be kind of interesting.

Garrus has fought valiantly alongside Commander Shepard, but his time away from his home planet Palaven has seen crime and corruption take hold there, a contradiction that becomes clearer as he investigates the murder of a turian on Omega. Cutting to the heart of Homeworlds, Garrus must choose between fighting for the galaxy or protecting his home!

Now controlling the resources of the Shadow Broker, Liara embarks on a galaxy-spanning mission to find information that can prevent the imminent Reaper attack. Her search turns up deadly secrets and brings her right to the beginning of BioWare’s latest blockbuster!

He's insightful, but not so much that the player can't glean the same ideas from what other squadmates say (or, at least, in my case both playthroughs, what Garrus says) and their own observations. Nor are the insights integral to understanding of the game. If it was game-breaking, I'd be right there with you. It is not. Furthermore, considering since its announcement the CE was going to have a special, bonus squadmate that the standard edition would not include and nobody *****ed... whatever.

It's pretty much wanting your cake and eating it too (the second-person pronoun there being collective, not personal). I know, I know - "But it isn't fair they didn't tell us who it was from the beginning!" Regardless, the business model there never changed, except to offer Javik as DLC for the standard edition instead of keeping it CE-only.

On an unrelated note, I enjoyed the EC. The cinematics are beautiful. The last bit on Earth is a nice note. The Catalyst's dialogue is superfluous and so very long and arduous to get through something I'd already intuited, but I guess they had to overexplain for people. As for the slides, whatever, though the ending narratives are a nice touch.

As for content, what BioWare put in is what I intuited or stated to be the most likely cases, bit for bit, in any of my discussions about the ending. I'm not patting my own back here, but I'm saying it wasn't impossible to figure out.

you know...I might have been ok with the ending if the whole battle for Earth hadn't sucked.

I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but I actually do get a kick out of sci-fi ships and stuff like this (there's more if anyone is actually interested):

That is cool.

I just played the Thessia map (fire base goddess) for the first time. Gotta admit, I was wondering why the hell it is so hard to get a match there....then I played it. It is horribly designed and the map is buggy as hell.

I've actually had pretty good experiences on Goddess - I'd rate it 3rd or 4th out of the DLC maps though, I think Jade's the best out of the bunch.

Here's the last of the size comparison stuff:

and the Cerberus cruiser that we didn't get too many new shots of:

I was very pleased with the Extended Cut DLC. I wasn't one of the ones throwing fits to begin with, but they fixed all the problems I had. The outcome of each ending was greatly expanded on, so it's no longer just three colors.

I was much more disappointed by Arkham City than ME3.

Dodger cracks me up every time. The good stuff is at 3:00.

lol making out with the female version of your self would be considered *********ion. like what was done when they made hommer simpson that same with his male selves. sorry to all for that image. lol i blame my girl friend for saying that. but in a way she's right. That dodger chicks interesting though.

I beg to differ. Tali's drunk dial of Javik is the single most important piece of dialogue in all ME lore and NO ONE should be deprived of it. :oldrazz:

So, after getting sick and not being able to go to work, I finally found the time to play ME3 again and experience that extended ending. Still hate AI brat, but at least Shepard finally questions that sucker. While I hated how they left everything open ended and didn't bother to explain ****, I kinda feel indifferent with these extended scenes. I'm like "Eh, yeah... ok."
