Mass Effect 3 - Part 4

Well, I don't know how well planned it could have been. The N7 Edition is nowhere to be found for the 360, but it's still easy to find for the PS3.

And then you get into whether or not a Collector's Edition should be, you know, actually Collectible and be less easy to get into than the standard.

Mass Effect has had content that has remained exclusive to the CE's too, before. There are gamerpics that came with the first CE that never got released on marketplace. There was also the Collector's Armor and assault rifle that's remained exclusive to CE's for the 360 (The Guyver looking outfit).

Why would you buy a game you dislike?

You can dislike something but still find aspects you like.
A good example is stalker and Oblivion, both (mostly) terrible games. But with good aspects. In the case of stalker it's the atmosphere and sense of place. In the case of Oblivion it's modding. The game becomes an enjoyable toy regardless of how bad the vanilla game is.

These venomous posts are generally your way of being defensive, I don't take it personally, you are forgiven.

Im not being defensive in the least. You have on more than one occasion stated you dont like this game(3 on the last page alone). Im stating the fact that you bring nothing useful to this thread. You only popped your head in here so you can jump on the controversy that is brewing over this game and tell everyone else that you aren't a fan of ME. You just wanted to fan the flames.

For somebody who has said that they don't like ME's gameplay and squad mechanics and that they find the characters and aliens to be boring I guess that must be one heck of a particular thing that you like.

Not sure what it is. He hates the characters, he hates the dialog, he hates the combat. I think he just says he intends on getting it so he can continue ragging on the game. That way he thinks Matt won't come in here and banish him from the thread like he did in the Skyrim section.

I think you need to be abit more positive. There is alot of things good in Mass Effect (2). The graphics for one. Only about two or three unreal powered games look better. And barring the Witcher 2, no other RPG looks better. The design for the aleins are very good as is the soundtrack. The sense of mystery with the real villains is (or at least was) interesting.

On the subject of the games issues, they should fix this, it was very annoying and made the ship and most city areas feel very lifeless. They aren't making isometric games from 30 feet above anymore so you generally notice poorly looped animations, lack of eye contact and interaction. I think I done a very good job in comparing it with the wonderful opening of Halflife 2, a now, 7 year old game.

It's great against shield's and barriers but the amount of ammo is just .

Oh I definitely agree, but the fact still remains this game was done, PRIOR to the completion of the DLC. Why shouldn't they be paid for that extra work? Like i said, this is just another example of gamers not knowing enough about their own industry. The industry is here to make money. Gamers need to learn to accept that or simply GTFO.

WTF lol any extra bonuses should be COSMETIC, as the totalbiscuit rant says. Online passes, costumes, even exclusive single player weapons are fine to incentivize new purchases.

I can't believe you're trying to justify this. They're withholding a character that is very important to the lore of the game universe unless you shell out an extra $20 for the CE, or pay $10 to buy it on day one. That is f**ked up. If they included it in all new copies there would be no complaining. Yeah, gaming is an industry, and this is absolutely putrid business practice.

The character can't be that important if he was planned as exclusive to the N7 Edition.

That...or the people over there have gone bat**** insane.

Then again, an extra character is different than an armor, or gun, or a gamer pic.

It does seem a pretty ****ed up.

I have to say, the new trailer actually makes me want to buy the game. And see it turned into a movie.

lol it might not be essential to the game but it's goddamn dirty to pull something like this because it's the finale.

I wonder if they'd been upfront about the extra character being a Prothean, if that'd had even mattered. To anyone who cares enough to even know what a Prothean even is, in theory those people would have already been in for the N7 Edition.

An extra squadmate, which should mean extra dialogue as well, as well as an extra mission sounds like really considerable content to even suggest to not allow anyone but N7 buyers to have access to.

Really don't understand this huge ***** fest over the DLC character. It's been a known fact for months, and they're still allowing people to buy it on day one. Jesus, these comments on youtube and reddit, you would think they were fighting for something real.

The hilarity of this is compounded by the fact that I modeled one of my ME 2 characters to actually look like Sean Bean and named him "Sharpe Shepard." :D

Heh, cute - but your passive aggressive schtick is unnecessary. I was honestly just interested what it was you could possibly like enough to warrant a purchase (even at sale price) since you've been rather vocal about your complaints over the last 2 years.

Now, I kinda want to see what a Sean Bean Shepard looks like.

The more things Sean Bean is in the better. Sean Bean can play Shepard's Missing/Dead Father. I have decreed it so.

Buying games off steam is compulsive because the deals are so good.
Even if a game is way, way over-rated. At £5 (with the console version usually being about £39) it's hard to no. I'm sitting with about 500 games, alot of them I have yet to play. This is most likely the case with alot of people. In fact, I know it's the case looking at the playtime of freinds list. I'm unsure if this will actually be on steam, if it isn't, then EA are dumb.

I love that Assault Rifle.

I found the Collector assault rifle to be rather weak, but I got it for completion's sake so....I can't complain.:oldrazz:

The Collector armor was BOSS though. I like how you guys are calling it "Guyver armor". That tickles me in a special place. I love Guyver.

Only tangentially related but something nerdy that I appreciated was how the Collectors/Reapers are the only one's with particle beam-like weapons (save for the Thanix cannon - which is based off of Sovereign's weapon).

If they do set ME4 however many years in the future it'd be neat see particle beam weapons be more common.

Stuff like that (Particle Beam Weapons) is further evidence they did some really, really solid lore-building with Mass Effect overall.

Have you all been following the weather balloon stuff? Apparently, each had 5 copies of xbox and 5 for ps3...people are still searching. Haha
