I see this discussion ending poorly.
Agree, the story should come first. Yes I would like to see more characters of different ethnicities but they shouldn't be shoehorned in.
What Hollywood needs is more writers and directors from different backgrounds. How can a middle class white man write story's about a culture he doesn't know and do it justice?
What do you want?
All the stories in Hollywood to be about middle-class white men?

If people just stick to making stories that reference their own background, no matter how you try and level the playing field behind the scenes, you would still see a net reduction in stories ABOUT the people you say need more input.
If I didn't count wrong, then Bobbi Morse is the 100th character from the comic books to appear in the MCU. congratulations.
not that I'm aware of. I made a collage in 2010ish which is a constant work in progress and expands whenever a new character is introduced/cast or announced. when I added a new pic for mockingbird today I noticed itIs there a list somewhere online that is a good reference? I was actually thinking about this today myself, after having watched the most recent Shield episodes I was wondering how many comic characters they were at now.

no namedrops just visible appearancesThat would be awesome, but extremely difficult to count accurately (no offense).
Do you count namedrops? What about background characters? I hope that's right because, as I said, it's awesome, but it's so easy to be off by one and it ends up being someone lame who gets it![]()
we didn't see Warlock, just his cocoonOK, cool. Do they have to be featured or would someone like Adam Warlock count?
I personally hate the racial pandering, I'm hispanic and I barely notice whether an actor is white, black, asian, etc. I just see actors playing characters and as long as Im invested in the story I don't really care. The problem is when movies start casting actors of certain race or shooting in certain places just to appeal an specific demographic, the recent chinese pandering is a good example. TASM 2 had scenes in chinatown to appeal chinese audiences LMAO that's just pathetic.
There's a couple of funny cases in AoS that depend on exactly how you count them. For instance, I wouldn't count "Scorch" even though he's on the AoS list, because it seems like a coincidental reuse of a generic code name, rather than any attempt to depict a specific character.actually, celebrations were premature, I did a recount and it seems I added the known cast of Ant-Man into the list yesterday (and forgot Agent 33).
Bobbi Morse is actually No. 97
so, three characters to go, I guess it will happen in AoS and I hope they make it a good one

That's awesome!
You should post that if you can, I'd love to see it.
I have some time to kill before my next class and have done the same thing, but I stopped at Iron Man 3 and I have 63 characters.
This doesn't include Thor 2, Winter Soldier, Guardians or AoS, so unless my estimations are off I think we should be at over 100 by now? I'm including every character who was on screen (not just a mention like Steven Strange in TWS) and who shares the namesake of anyone in the comics.
This includes such obscure characters like Christine Everhart (who was a reporter in two or three iron man comics, and was in IM and IM2), some of the named Frost Giants, the two student reporters in TIH named Jack Mcgee and Jim Wilson, etc.
I can name quite a few of them (maybe not 100), but a lot of them are pretty obscure. Guys like John Garrett, Lance Hunter, Alexander Pierce, etc. You have to be REALLY into Marvel comics to know who they are.
