Do you think the 3 new dates in 2020 are directly tied to the outcome of Civil War?

Probably not. Likely tied to the outcome of Infinity War. Any problems Civil War caused will be either dealt with in IW, or rendered pointless due to the circumstances Infinity War has set. Such as the fact that there is a 8 foot tall purple space man stronger than Hulk and Thor combined with the power to snap galaxies out of existence coming to Earth.

The heroes squabble won't matter at the moment because they'll have to protect the Earth. And the Accords will probably be dealt with after they save the world again(assuming the Accords are still active by then)and the government realizes that it's stupid to regulate the heroes because I mean, whats the point? Not like the US Army can stop the Chitauri, Raging Hulk, Ultron, and they definately can't do jack **** to Thanos. So the smart thing to do is to let the heroes be heroes.

Sure casualties will happen but when you're dealing with villains bent on world domination and death to humanity ya can't avoid casualties. All you can do is reduce them.

Thor: Ragnarok post-credits stinger guesstimation:

Thanos will show up with the Reality Gem (his access into Asguard that he receives from The Collector) and simply take the Space Gem from the vault that is now in shambles after the conflict. So that's two at the start of Infinity Wars.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 might have him taking on the Nova Corps. and taking the Power Gem. I could see Vision biting it in Infinite War Part 1. Maybe near the end. Doctor Strange probably has the Soul Gem (in his Eye of Agamotto). Wonder how that'll play out.

Let me rephrase. The heros featured as title characters in the 2020 movies are being kept under wraps to keep secret who survived Civil War. Not exactly "direct," poor choice of words

Any word from Feige on if Namor is going to show up anytime soon.

Oh maybe. Only time will tell.

Not necessarily. We already know that Downey and Evans are contracted for Infinity War, so even if either Steve or Tony "die" in Civil War, they'll be brought back for that. We know Black Panther, Ant-Man and Spider-Man survive since they've got solo movies coming up in Phase 3. I think Renner and Johansson might be signed for Infinity War as well, but everyone else including them are unlikely to get their own solo movie anyway (Vision, Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier, etc.). I don't think the 2020 movies are being kept secret because of Civil War. It's just too early to announce them yet. I'd say we won't find out what they are until next year at the earliest.

Being contracted doesn't mean Marvel has to call them. It just means they are on the hook if they do.

I was expecting to read that FFINO was an under appreciated film at the end of the article, and that if people want to see something not drab, they should go and see that. :oldrazz:

Wow, I don't think I've seen an article that so poorly justifies its claims in a *long* time. I mean, I try to be open minded, especially with positions that disagree with my own. . . but virtually every claim therein seems contradictory to simple fact. I can't assimilate "GOTG lacks a distinct visual style" with the actual movie, for example.

So I just had myself an MCU marathon over the past 2 months(minus Jessica Jones since I'm fresh off that) and there's two things that I would like to see done in the foreseeable future.

1. There's a huge gap between Agent Carter and the first Iron Man movie. I would like to see some sort of movie set in the 70's and I believe that could be an Ant-Man prequel. We have flashbacks of sorts in the movie and TV Shows, but I think it would be cool to get more of that gap filled up.

2. The formation of SHIELD. I think this is a big one in terms of the MCU for several reasons. One, there's a show based of it(Agents Of Shield) and secondly, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is basically about the destruction of it. I would hope there's an Agent Carter Season 3 on the way that would show that.

There's also some discrepancies in the MCU Timeline about the formation of SHIELD unless I missed something along the way. Several times it's mentioned that SHIELD was formed shortly after the war, but in CA: The Winter Soldier, it still shows Peggy working for the SSR in 1954. This is why I wish Agent Carter Season 3 would take place in 1954. A bit of time jump of 8 years. I think it would help start bringing more things together.

Not really sure this post actually belongs here but as far as I can tell there is no general Marvel TV thread and there is no bespoke thread for this [if there is, could a mod move the post to the appropriate place? thanks] but apparently, I could be heading to a TV show at some point. At first I saw the story on Facebook this morning and assumed it was an early April fools but then found that the BBC ran the story two days ago:-

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-35915759

with the International Business Times running it three days ago:-

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/captain-br...n-jack-leotard-be-next-marvel-tv-show-1551888

and some sites reporting a 'rumour' as far back as the 23rd March.

Have to say, great news if true [and it actually gets made].

Here's what I'd most like to see going fwd in the MCU... Some of these are maybe possible whilst others are most likely pipe dreams...

Phase 3
1) Silver Surfer & Galactus to appear in the Infinity War films via a deal with Fox.
2) Netflix's Defenders to appear in the Infinity War films in some capacity, even if it's only one scene.

Phase 4
3) Two solo Spidey films (Like IM in Phase 1) with him graduating High School in Spidey 3.
4) A Fantastic Four film via some kind of deal with Fox. If the reviews are good it will make bank!
5) Either a Daredevil or Defenders film that retains the adult style of Netflix.
6) Downey Jr/Hemsworth/Evans to leave the franchise either temporarily or permanently, and in their absence a new Avengers line-up to be formed around Bucky-Cap, female Thor & War Machine. Thus allowing some time to pass before they recast those roles.
7) Avengers Secret Wars (Spidey gets symbiote).

Phase 5
8) A 'The Death of Jean DeWolff' Spidey film
9) Somewhere down the line in Phase 5 or 6, a 'Kraven's Last Hunt' Spidey film.

Phase 6
10) An Avengers vs X-Men crossover film with Fox. Imo the last two X-Men films have been awesome, Fox are never gonna drop the rights and they have great actors in those films. I say set it up as two parallel universes that collide/fuse together and then battle ensues. This would be a mega event that in terms of hype/fan appeal would surely exceed Infinity War.

True, but at the same time, do you really think they'd really leave any of the major characters like Steve or Tony out of Infinity War, the culmination of a decade of films and will be their biggest project? I think it's a safe bet they'll be in it, regardless of what happens in Civil War.

I thought of something.
If :ff: revert back to Marvel, Avengers 5 will be Secret Invasion.
That is my guess looking at MCU record of taking titles of modern Marvel events (either widely or character events) to title their movies.

That would seriously be a dream come true. In the nearer future though, I'm hoping that the 3 2020 movies are Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Scarlet Witch and the Vision/Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange and a new character film, perhaps Nova or She Hulk.

Not sure if people saw this, but GOTG vol 3 has been confirmed as of the 17th.

I do not believe it :cwink:

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" will be in 2020 - Feige confirmed it already...

BUT, remember two things:

1. Feige said, he does not know WHEN (in 2020) the movie will be (and we have THREE dates)

2. They would do a ONE year break (May 2019-May 2020) - and i do not think, that they will do this - now, that they are starting to do THREE movies a year!! (and DC and Fox starting a challenge)

Love this quote from the Russo's in regards to how Civil War will shake up the MCU:

"The only thing that seemed interesting to us was to deconstruct the Marvel Universe - because where else can we go at this point? There have been 11 or 12 movies so far, all with a fairly traditional structure. Our pitch to them was: People will tell you they love chocolate ice cream - until you give it to them five days a week. It's time to give them some rainbow sherbet. Kevin [Feige] is a maverick and he's very sensitive to how people are responding to his content. He said he thought we might be right. And after they announced Batman v. Superman, he said, 'you guys are absolutely right.'"
