MCU: The Marvel Cinematic Universe Official Discussion - Part 5

See... I think there is a very good chance that they will revive at least DD. As stated in the quotes above it had a penetration into the pop culture that far exceeded the other Netflix offerings. And while legally they can't plan out a DD show thing is... You can't tell me that the people that were working on DD didn't already have some idea of where they were going in season 4. This wouldn't be making a show from scratch. Call it a long shot. Fine. It would mean getting most of that team, behind of and in front of the camera together again. That might be difficult. It also... might not. And I can't help but feel that the support would be there if the show were revived elsewhere.

Frankly if in three years or so Disney announces a streaming service for more mature content that doesn't fit on Disney+ a revived DD would be a hell of a way to entice people.

This is why I thought it was hilarious we were all expecting something Fox related in EndGame. If the lawyers even got wind of Disney looking to do something with characters they didn't legally own yet it would have put the whole deal at risk.

See... I knew that the stuff floating around about "The Endgame post cred shows the FF from behind..." or "The post cred is a man getting accosted on the street and then he pops three claws from his hands" was bunk from the get go.

This was NEVER like the situation with Spidey and how he was brought into CW.

Kevin Fiege speaks more about the Fox-Disney deal. @Darkprime @Marvel united. @Willie Lumpkin. You three in particular might get a kick out of his comments.

:funny: Damn. I wonder if Feige was a bit jealous at Warners Bros for having access to their entire catalogue of characters while he was stuck with mostly the B-list leftovers but they haven't done too badly with those leftovers given how much in billions they make. These comments make me think Feige always wanted the X-Men and FF badly and his comments about waiting for five years the X-Men to arrive shouldn't be taken too literally. Though I still prefer they wait a while.

Feige also confirms that Deadpool will remain R-rated under Marvel Studios. It also at the same time seemingly confirms that Ryan Reynolds will remain Deadpool for the MCU.

All these quotes are from a profile that Variety did on Feige's career at Marvel. I highly recommend people read it. Its a good read. Here's the link below.

Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige on the Disney Plus Shows, Fox Deal

Be careful he didn't say that deadpool would be in the mcu.

They were dusted too.

The Undusted like Cassie Lang aged five years but The Dusted immediately reappeared in 2023 like no time had passed for them. High school graduating classes are all messed up now.

but Young Avengers tho

My questions for the MCU moving forward
-How are they going to top it. Will he next big bad be Kang? I just don’t see how they’re going to top an enemy killing half of all life on the universe. Because Galactus, size not withstanding, is gonna be a small fry compared to Thanos. The Beyonder? I guess they can set up Secret Wars. I just think they’ve reached an apex in terms of stakes and the MCU thrives on raising the stakes.

-What is the Avengers lineup moving forward. BP for sure, Spidey for sure, Valkyrie? Falcon?

-How is someone like Spidey and his series going to reconcile the fact that the snap happened and that everyone remembers it. That was kinda a weird scene to see him just back at school. Very weird actually.

-Falcon as Cap/having Cap's shield. Kinda felt a little forced. I know it's what happened in the comics.I feel like Cap could've said something along the lines of: "The world doesn't need another Captain America, it just needs more people like you" I think that would've been better.

-How are mutants going to be integrated? I can see a multiverse being used in the next Avengers movie and maybe doing that? I really just wish they didn’t have the X-Men I feel like it’s detrimental to the MCU and a potential X-Men verse.

-I guess Black Widow will be a prequel. You know I was thinking after the movie that it could’ve been a fake and they’re not working on a Black Widow movie. I’m still thinking that and the director and casting is for another movie under the guise

-I’m thinking WandaVision might be fake too. I think it’ll actually end of being Wanda and Hawkeye

-I’m guessing the Loki series will deal with the universe that had him escape.

After seeing Endgame, I think the Phase 4 villain choice is kinda obvious

This guy disagrees with you.

I hope if they do revive it, we get something like, "Daredevil and Elektra" since they are into titles like that. I love Elektra and I want her back.

... could also hint at Moleman.

... or be completely unrelated to anything. :funny:

I've seen very little in the way of "Easter Eggs" mentioned related to Endgame, but I'm betting there are a lot in there that haven't been noticed yet.

Endgame Screenwriters speak about the ability to add X-Men in the movie.

Could you have used any of the characters that Disney obtained from the Fox acquisition, like the X-Men or Fantastic Four?
McFEELY
Legally, not allowed to.

MARKUS I guess it’s done now but it wasn’t done then. They still have an “X-Men” movie [“Dark Phoenix,” due in June]. You can’t reboot them before they’re done. “Sorry to completely screw you.”

There you have it. Until Dark Phoenix comes and goes Marvel wont be adding in mutants anytime soon. It never made sense to put X-Men easter eggs in Endgame when its still a running franchise with a movie coming out in a few months.

Yeah, but that same comment doesn't hold for Fantastic Four. :cwink:

And I think, while we'd all just like to have Dark Phoenix done and buried, that's real money for Disney, so they're not going to sabotage it.

... don't be surprised if we even hear Kevin Feige and others talking it up as it gets close to release.

Wow, this just makes me more annoyed at Dark Phoenix. The movie should have been released to streaming

I always felt that was fairly obvious but hey, at least it's there in writing now.

i see a new 0 chance of kang being the "big" bad like thanos. maybe as a one-movie villain to epilogue the avengers "meddling with time" or some stuff, but no way they're going back to time travel as a central plot point, since that is kang's entire gimmick

give me doom or give me bust
