See I love the idea of Zod and Faora being on earth and gathering intel, but never the idea that being sent to earth was a Kryptonian prisoners punishment.

That makes Kryptonians regard for human life unimaginably low, doesn't seem like much of a punishment (as they'd get superpowers), and it doesn't make much sense for Jor-el to send his baby there knowing that the worst criminals of their planet were waiting for him.

Agreed. That's just bizarre. And what exactly have Zod and Faora been doing all this time, I wonder. I mean, they could rule the planet...

It would be completely absurd for Krypton to banish them to Earth. There is no way they would do that to Earth. If they were shot into orbit in suspended animation around Krypton and then ended up on Earth after it's destruction or if they were in the Phantom Zone, then it would be okay.

Agreed, for Krypton to do that would be totally against their nature in my eyes and would totally ruin them as a race in the movie world. I REALLY hope this isnt the case in the finished film and that Zod and Faora got to Earth another way.

Jim Shooter gives away some secrets about John Byrne's pitch on Superman at Marvel

Yes, apparently Marvel was thinking about buying DC in the 80s and for that case Byrne pitched an idea. At DC he turned it into the Man of Steel.

Any opinions? Good or better than the ideas from MoS?

Not too bad, I don;t really care for the
Lara gives birth on earth thing though
. One thing I did like was the slow build up.

I've heard most of that stuff before. The good thing is, Shooter would have rejected it. He was a better writer as a teenager than Byrne ever was.

Incredible piece of history. It is literally where it all started-the publication and the indignities. The same ones that carry on today, as Joe Shuster's costume is no longer good enough for the kewl kidz-it's only the greatest design ever in an American fantasy series.

At least Grant Morrison has given us back a character that reads like what Siegel wrote.

So Superman has been having bad times and indignities since 1939....... one guess what would you like about a character that has never had the proper respect.

He also got a call for the "Superman," reboot, reading for the role that eventually went to British actor, Henry Cavill.

"It was a really cool experience to get to go audition for these big hero roles like Superman," David said. "And they’re rightfully so cagey about the script, they often send you sides that have nothing to do with the script itself and you’re kind of left to guess what’s going on. So it’s always kind of a fun process."

Superman may not have happened, but a year ago, in December, David’s agent sent him the script for "Grimm." Not long after, the director and the producers brought him in and he quickly locked down the role.

Dude headlining NBC's Grimm who also looks like Routh's little brother.

Never heard of him or the show for that matter. He's got a good look.

The indignities to Jerry and Joe.

Holy crap! My video is still up.

This feels ancient, and I feel old now.

Hahaha, I remember seeing that!

I remember literally lol'ing at R2's appearance with the 'Its Raining Men' snippet.

So I finished Vol 1 of All Star Superman and it's pretty much one of the most brilliant things I ever read. I can't wait to pick up Vol. 2.

Does anyone have any idea if WB's will push MOS to the now vacant late 2013 summer July release date that Thor 2 gave up?

It would be a smart and wise move by WB's to put MOS in that ideal spot for releasing the film!

June 2013 is 75th Superman birthday. Action Comics #1 was released june 1938.

I believe the date has a big influence on Warner's decision.

Well, technically, it was released in April, and the comic cover was dated June.

It's such an inconsequential date, however. If July places them in a better strategic position, they would be foolish to ignore it for an irrelevant anniversary.

Yup, it's all about the mighty dollah. I'd rather they take the July spot, even though that would mean we have to wait even more for this movie to come out.

Kinda off topic, but I wonder when Clark learns to fly.....will he learn when he's a young Clark or will he try it when he's in alaska finding himself? I'm so curious about this
