TDKR got better in subsequent viewings for me. Personally.

Me too.

As for the Oscar talk, there's a legitimate reason why the academy won't recognize it and why WB won't dare to campaign for it come awards season.

I still think it'll get nominated purely for Hollywood political reasons.

If TDK didn't get nominated, I don't see TDKR being nominated.

The Academy has a prejudice against nominating comic book movies.

It's not impossible, but I fear that the tragic Colorado Shootings tainted TDKR's chances.

That, and academy hates CBMs.

After The Dark Knight didn't get nominated, I have serious doubts whether a CMB will ever get that type of acknowledgement.

But that's the thing...

TDK's and Wall-E's snubbing was a BIG deal in Hollywood. It's what led them to expand the number of nominees. I see the Academy attempting to save face by giving a pity nom to either TDKR or Brave, and Brave wasn't nearly good enough to even be considered.

Snow White by a long shot.

In retrospect, I guess I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up for a movie that starred Kristen Stewart, but the trailers really made it look epic. And it was just a turd.

I voted for the Amazing Spider-Man. I just hated watching it.

Prometheus. It was HUGE disappointment for me.

Imo, I expected what each of those films will be EXCEPT for TAS-M, which I expected to be a Spidey film that I would've love more than Raimi's trilogy except for Spider-Man 2, although after seeing TAS-M, I prefer the '02 film and the '04 film more.

Of the ones I've actually anticipated there is only one that have disappointed and that's The Amazing Spider-Man. And then it might have been my least anticipated of my most anticipated, so it's not a huge damage.

Every other of my most anticipated movie of 2012 has more or less delivered for me.

I love The Dark Knight Rises, think The Avengers is really really great, and I really like both Prometheus and The Hunger Games despite a couple of apparent flaws. All are easily to be bought on BD when they arrive for me.

Dark Shadows for me, or Prometheus maybe. I liked Dark Shadows prologue, that's why the movie itself was a letdown.

Prometheus was magnificient, but the story wasn't engaging at all.

The Amazing Spider-man was pretty dreadful. Andrew was great in it but he was the only one.

It's a shame Prometheus has so many votes. I really liked that. Perhaps if people watch it again without the hype they may enjoy themselves more?

that's what I've been wondering. I definitely need to watch it again.

From those I've seen that are also in the poll, probably Men in Black 3.

Not that I didn't like it, but I think I was expecting that fun feeling that the first gave me.

Seeing the negative reception that it's been receiving, I'm not sure I even want to watch Prometheus anymore.

Do watch it, if anything this division proves it's a film you have to see for yourself to properly judge.

Prometheus for me. Sounded like a big movie about the universe, how men was created and the answer to that. But it didn't answer anything and therefor it like a letdown.

Haven't seen Amazing Spider-Man yet, but I've heard that so much advertized "the untold story" was cut, so that movie may also be disappointing.

However, I had high hopes for a great sci-fi movie like Prometheus, and that was the biggest disappointment at the moment. Visually it was nice but story-like it sucked.

Wait. Did people seriously think Prometheus was going to answer the question of our creation? That's absurd.

I did, because Scott's gardener told me he knew what was the secret of our creation. He also said it was "awesome".

They could come up with an answer.
It doesn't mean it's THE answer. It's just their take.

Uh oh. Someone said something bad about "Prometheus" so here comes CConn to chivalrously defend its honor. You just don't get it, maaaaaaaan. :cwink:

I thought Prometheus was meh at best, but it wasn't the biggest disappointment for me, because honestly I wasn't biting my nails in anticipation. I expected another by-the-numbers scifi flick and that's what was delivered. But Pixar has really let me down. They used to make masterpieces. Somewhere around Cars 1 or Cars 2, they decided to just be another Dreamworks. I held out hope that their one original property in a glut of unnecessary sequels would be good and it just failed hard.
