Ms. Marvel in the works? - Part 1

LoL its ridiculous that there are people complaining about Hair Colour,

If fans had to cast the avengers i guess, we could count Tom Hiddleston and Scarlet Johannson out... And Chris Hemsworth because he didnt have long enough hair... And Cobie Smulders because she didnt have Short Hair...

Thats all farcical if you ask me...
As long as the Actor or Actress best embodies the character and portrays them brilliantly, all these other small things really dont matter...

Well that's the thing. I don't think Emily Blunt embodies Carol at all. She does embody other characters though more suitably. Would people like it if Samuel L Jackson were cast as Falcon instead of Nick Fury? Or imagine RDJ as Banner and Ruffalo as Stark.

I still think Charlize Theron is a great choice. She's obviously got the look down. And her acting is undeniable with movies like Monster, Young Adult (where she's got comedy down too...and in Arrested Development, too).

And with SWATH recently, she's showed her readiness to be part of these larger-than-life stories. Not saying I want her to ham it up as Miss Marvel, like she did as the Queen, but it's that kind of commitment to the material and eagerness to be in that action/popcorn genre that is most appealing about her.

And screw age. Yes, she's older than Scarlett and Colbie, but damn she doesn't show it. She's still gorgeous and I think her age is actually a benefit. Miss Marvel should be on an equal field with IM and the big guns, give them all a run for their money

Yep, she couldn't do Black Widow because of her commitment to making cinematic masterpieces like Gulliver's Travels with Jack Black.

Personally, I don't care whether she ends up playing a part in the MCU or not.

"the look" isnt important. Ms. Marvel ,as depicted in the comics, is even more generic-looking than most heroes. As I said, I was championing Alice Eve based mostly on looks, but that really isnt the way to go. Whoever they choose will be attracive of course, but other than that they will go for the best talent available.

She's one of Hollywood's biggest stars. It's not like she's hitting 40 and hanging out at Burger King and hanging out in her slippers all day. If they hired Charlize, I'm sure she'll manage to stay in good enough shape to play the part.

Because Marvel has notoriously gone for Hollywood's biggest stars in the eponymous roles of their films. Oh wait...

Black Widow, Maria Hill, and Peggy Carter were all given to women who, at the time of their casting, were between 25-30. The fact that they probably even undercast Maria Hill's age (a character who's exceptionally high ranking in SHIELD would probably suggest a woman in her mid-late 30s) shows you that Marvel isn't about to start casting in the over 35 range for a major female action role.

Well you cant always be so sure, can you? Look at Chris Evans, I was highly surprised with his performance of Cap, and you have to admit, there wasnt any other major role he did prior to that, which would convince you that he was a perfect fit for Cap.

Actors can surprise you, just because you havent seen them in a certain type of role certainly doesnt mean they can't do it... Prime Example Heath Ledger...

Emily Blunt and Ruth Wilson are not my top choices either, and this is probably false anyway, but if either of them get the role it would be because Marvel saw something in them. Marvel have been solid in their casting so i wouldnt worry to much...

Although I really Love this character, so i would want to see her be at her best on the big screen...

Obviously, younger is always safer, but since when has Marvel been safe? I wouldn't rule out Theron for a role. Marvel has a tendency to go for Oscar calibre actors and she is the embodiment of Danvers. Yes, she's older, but not in a crypt keeper sort of way. Let's not get ahead of ourselves

Yes Left Field. Where as Charlize Theron is an obvious A-lister, the female equivalent of casting Brad Pitt as Captain America.

Now, tell me what about Ms. Marvel warrants an actress 40+, other than you really wanting to see Theron in the role? You find the actor/actress for the role, you don't change the character to fit the actress.
