Thor fans are in for a heck of a ride, we plan on doing some incredible things with the Thunder God including creating a new villain for him that fans have already been introduced to and don’t even know it. Man, I love laying down the tease!”

JQ: "Yup, this is still in effect, but I can’t tell you about the villain as of yet, since I want everyone’s money and I want everyone reading Thor [laughs]. But, truth me, you’re going to hate this villain with a passion!

I figured the new Thor villain would be Clor, but since Joe Q still can't say who it is, that seems unlikely. I really have no earthly conception of whom it could be.

Clor's mostly robot and robots can be rebuilt. Hell, even if he weren't mostly robot, I'm still they'd find some way to bring him back. I think Joe Q or JMS has mentioned that Clor would pop up in Thor's new series every now and then, too.

Ug, and I thought it was over. Sounds like a marvel version of the superman robots arc may happen soon.

Not really. It's only the one robot this time around. I don't really mind Clor as a villain for Thor, myself. Thor doesn't have an Anti-Thor like Spider-Man has Venom or Superman has Bizarro. Clor looks like he could be it if they flesh the character out some more and give him something beyond looking like Thor and thinking he's Thor.

I always thought of The Destroyer as the anti-Thor,but I guess this could work. I'm guessing they'll change up the clones look a bit to distinguish bad Thor from good.

that's funny. i always thought of loki as the "anti-thor".

Naw, Loki's likes Thors version of green goblin. Arch nemises, but not the anti him.

It can't be Clor because Thor would destroy him with ease everytime. I wonder who it will be? There is not many out there who could match Thor, let alone rune Thor...

Yeah, Loki is to Thor what Lex is to Superman or the Joker is to Batman. They're the villains who've risen to be most commonly associated with those heroes for whatever reasons. I'm talking about a Venom to Thor's Spider-Man or a Prometheus to Thor's Batman--someone with very similar powers but evil. Thor doesn't have one. Red Norvell's the closest, but he tends to fight alongside Thor more often than not, and their only real beef with each other died with Odin. The Destroyer doesn't work because it's way too powerful to be the anti-anyone. It's literally killed Thor without much effort.

Of course, given Clor's performance in CW, it seems like Thor, even at his normal power level, would be way too much for him. I wonder if Clor will get a power boost to bring him closer to Thor's level--perhaps a magical one from Loki or Karnilla or some other Asgardian, to give him some more credibility and a better pedigree.

He might get an upgrade. Didn't Tony Stark first create the Destroyer? I'm sure Ironman can do to Clor what he did to make the Destroyer.

Uh, no. The Destroyer is Odin's creation and is about a million times beyond anything Tony Stark could even fathom. Also, it's powered by magic, not tech. It's literally just a hollow suit of armor, animated by life force.

The closest Tony got to making a Destroyer armor was his "Thorbuster" armor from the "Standoff" crossover between the Thor, Iron Man, and Avengers comics. That was powered by a mystical energy source King Thor had given to Stark-Fujikawa so that they could harness it for power and ween man off of dirty fossil fuels. Tony decided it would be of more use as a power source for a new suit of armor (because he was a dick even back then) that he thought was powerful enough to take down King Thor. He was proven utterly wrong, however, when King Thor literally ripped the armor apart with only a few bruises to show for its attacks. Magic once again trumped tech. :oldrazz:

Okay just askin.:woot:

Morlun!......remember who's writing it before you lynch me!!
Well, I guess since evil spider gods like to bite off his head, he'd like to fight norse gods instead. Because spider stingers>Godly hammers.

Morlun would need some serious upgrades to even get Thor's attention.

I bet the new villian will be one of the those "above all" gods from the Ragnarok story arc?

Also Destroyer could work with Loki's soul inside it since as far as we know he still is missing his body?

I'm sorry. I just utterly hate Morlun. He replaced a perfectly good villain Defaulco was starting to establish as the new Venom for Spiderman(black tarntula.)http://samruby.com/Villains/BlackTarantula/black_tarantula.htm
That guy was definition badass.

Plus, I don't know why they established a carbon copy version of Morbious as a new ultimate threat for Spidey.....Point is I really hate Morlun.:csad: :cmad:

:)

....seriously, no-one hates the character more than I do......but I simply wouldn't put it past JMS to reintroduce him

I liked the Black Tarantula too. That was one of the few stories from the Mackie/post-Clone Saga era that I thoroughly enjoyed. I really wish they would bring him back.

And yes, Morlun really was way too similar to Morbius. I thought Morlun was Morbius when he was first introduced, in fact.

Well, as far as we know, everyone associated with Asgard is dead except for Thor, Beta Ray Bill, and Tarene, so nobody really has a body at this point. I prefer to see Loki as Loki, though. The Destroyer should really get a permanent life force in it and become a serious villain for Thor instead of a badass that just pops up now and then, but it should remain separate from Loki.

Thor has to beat up Rhino in the first 3 issues. Its a rule now.

The only thing is I just do not see Loki as a match for a thor that would have had to create him. And if he is new, he cannot be Loki. One of the one above Gods does make some sense though, given they were not killed, just some of their food was eliminated (feeding off of Asgard)
