Personally, I think his belt is too blingy. Do the execs really think Red-Rapper Skull is the right direction to go?

Define 'too blingy' please. It's just a flat silver-ish belt buckle. It doesn't look oversized at all.

Wait until I get started on the white background. Shows no imagination, this is going to be one boring film indeed...... :oldrazz: :cwink:

Good heavens man! A blingy belt! I'm boycotting this movie, and all commercials for soap products.

And as for the white background... Bren, thanks for helping me see the light. I hate boring films. I noticed that Red Skulls wasn't trying to pick his nose with the cosmic cube. Why can't Marvel just get these films right?!

And clearly he's flying in that picture. Such a fail.

Not only should Red Skull use this technique but back over in Spidey-movie land, the Green Goblin should've masked up this way instead of a power ranger helmet.

Exactly my thoughts!

I used this video on those boards to illustrate said point a couple months ago.
If these MI masks are believable, then they easly could have someone in a prostectic goblin make-up remove his face like this.

Agreed. That's one thing the MI series did really well. Not only should Red Skull use this technique but back over in Spidey-movie land, the Green Goblin should've masked up this way instead of a power ranger helmet. Hopefully in the rebooted series this will happen.

I've been posting this all over the place since I saw it the other day. makeup/prosthetics combined with shots like the M:I masks being removed would be a great way to achieve this look imo.

Wow, as belt buckles like that one are pretty much a normal staple of an average adults males wardrobe, I guess most of us are bling and didnt even know it. :awesome:

Just jokin' - I'd respectfully suggest that a simple stainless steel belt buckle doesnt become 'bling' until, say, it's encrusted with diamonds or bears the wearers initials on Gold atop of it.

None of which I see in that concept art. :oldrazz:

(I can't believe people are taking me seriously)

I don't care how bad SM1 GG was, the purple tunic, evil Smurf hat and halloween mask will always be ten times harder to make work on sceen. Good art doesn't equate good costume.

Honestly, I thought my 'he's flying' comment would have given the sarcasm away, but oh well.

It's been said before, but bears repeating; we need a sarcasm smiley ;)

never know until you try.

Well that's true, but my opinion is that GG will always have to be adapted more heavily than other costumes to not just work within the realism and logic of the movie, but just to simply look good. As Green Ranger-ish as SM1 GG looked it's probably going to be the best interpretation for a long time. To me the classic GG costume is very much a product of its time and hasn't dated very well. Even HobGoblin (like the one in my avatar) who has a slighlty better look (in my opinion) would have to be adapted rather than translated on screen as he looks in the comics.

I've been using the mask effect in the MI series to slam the look of the Green Goblin in SM1 since the movie first came out and trying to convince others that THAT is the way his mask should work. Glad to see ppl get on board eventually.

I don't see the problem with tweaking the look of GG. Just use the mask(as discussed above) and some fairly dark purple-ish rags much like in the pic above and such. It's not 100% accurate to the original design but still 10X more faithful than what we got in SM1.

Well the guy is a lunatic. It's fairly easy to accept that he goes into his split personality, puts on a halloween mask and goes out in his bedrobes :p

Why do these costume companies even bother?! Their stuff always looks like absolute ****...

Looks exactly how the red skull should.
I'm lookin forward to seein what exactly some people will find to complain about it haha.

yeah, i'm not a fan of the ears. makes him look like a sinister monkey
