Anybody notice the smooth weasel move of Hank Pym?? He switched sides quick!! LOL

That's what I'm most interested in at the moment. Not that bothered about the fairness (or not) of the fight between the Colonel and the Captain (though for a guy who abhors childish code-names, he sure seems okay with accepting essentially a code-name/field commission of Colonel despite only behind anything more than a farmhand for four months or so).

All the political motivation and fairness in a fight arguements arent what we should be talking about. Millar chose countries who at the moment would have the most understandable reasons for not wanting a superpowered american defence initiative. The Colonel agreed to the SSP treatments, and was doing what he did for personal and patriotic reasons. He simply believed that he and his people were being given no say in the running or treatment of the populace of their own country and that the Americans were using their superpowered people as a means of ensuring no one who thought that way would think about speaking up. The others all seemed like powermad despots really - enjoying the augmentation they've recieved, and making chaos with it under the "flag" of liberation.

Now, let's get back to the important stuff. Pym and his turncoating - real or not? Fury and the missing arm - Tony gonna give him a bionic one like he did Misty? IronMan - is he going to be forced under SHIELD jurisdiction and contract obligation to give up control of IM-6 to them? You can bet your bum the power nuts (who actually are bad guys) in the government would love to have one of those babies to fly about under their control. What's Hawkeye gonna say officially about Black Widow? I mean, he Nick and Natasha worked together for years before the ultimates. How much of all the treachery and whatnot is gonna be attributed to Loki's manipulations?

Yeah, just bought it - was going to post a comment on it myself; considering Hitch is slow with the art for the Ultimates, where does he find the time to do work for Empire as well as the stuff he did for Superman Returns?
I was thinking the same thing, almost... Superman Returns? It is a great cover for Empire.

Oh, it's real. He had big hate on for Rogers.

Fury and the missing arm - Tony gonna give him a bionic one like he did Misty?

Probably. But why isn't Nick in Shock?? Hey, it's comics. :whatever:

IronMan - is he going to be forced under SHIELD jurisdiction and contract obligation to give up control of IM-6 to them? You can bet your bum the power nuts (who actually are bad guys) in the government would love to have one of those babies to fly about under their control.

You don't think the government already knew about IM-6?

She killed his whole family. What do you think he's gonna say?

How much of all the treachery and whatnot is gonna be attributed to Loki's manipulations?

I didn't think of that angle. :csad:

No, the graphic novel is not out yet.

No, Ultimates 2 is not completed yet I believe there is one more issue left, whenever THAT gets released will be a mystery

And Ultimates 3 will come out when Ultimates 2 is finished.

Sorry that didn't happen for you! :whatever: Cap gave that punk more than he could handle...experience or otherwise!!

Capt. Jihad had to call in his boys to help him?? :oldrazz: WoW!! What a wuss!! Then he was gonna cut off Cap's head while they held him down?? What an honorable man. :whatever: And some of you were roooting for this guy?? LOL

Cap was at least willing to go down to the end...man to man!! The assist Cap got he didn't ask for...but he deserved it!! Especially after that punk move by ol' Abdul.

Why oh why do you sound more ignorant with every post more I read from you?

When the hell was Cap "honorable"? Ultimate Cap HAS good intentions for the most part, but isn't what I, or most of this current era, would consider honorable for the most part. He's a soldier, and that's honorable in it's own right. But he's definitely the "means to an ends" type. Where the other person is the same thing, only from another country, trying to keep his countries free from a SUPERHUMAN ARMY FORCING THEIR COUNTRY TO DO WHAT AMERICA WANTS IT TO DO. A country, which I remind you, sends an oh so willing Captain America to go over there and kick the **** out of them.

You mean the Hank Pym that beat Jan within an inch of her life, sprayed her with Raid and then sent his attack ants after her naked body almost killing her?? THAT Hank Pym??? Okay. :whatever:

Yes, because an insane Banner who wasn't in control of himself TOTALLY deserved a superhuman blow to the head in his weak, controlled, human form. Super deserving, and super honorable of herr Captain.

And yeah, Hank beat the **** out of his wife, and was going to answer for it. Captain, against ORDERS, went to Hank and needlessly beat the hell out of him.

So, while I'm sure you loved the old mysoginist, foreign hating, racist backthrow of early America, that way simply doesn't work anymore. If I think that one of my staff is cheating me out of money and beating someone up on the side, should I go over and shoot him? Hell no. You might think it's okay, but there's a police force in place for a REASON. Hell, SHIELD probably would've taken damn fine care of Hank without the Cap's intervention. THAT was simply Cap doing what HE thought was right. Not what WAS right.

At this point, I'm suprised you're not saying I'm wrong simply because I'm a woman.

When he agreed to fight Capt Jihad the way he wanted to fight. Man-to-man. No body get in the way. He stuck to the deal. Abdul did not. "Oh Captain, I really wanted a fair fight." Bull crap. If he did, he'd have told those guys to let Rogers go.

Ultimate Cap HAS good intentions for the most part, but isn't what I, or most of this current era, would consider honorable for the most part. He's a soldier, and that's honorable in it's own right. But he's definitely the "means to an ends" type.

In combat, all soldiers will tell you that's how things are. It's not a scripted movie. And this current era doesn't know what honor is anymore. When young girls dress like hookers and young boys like thuggin' out, we're a sorry people to know anything. Cap's time period wasn't perfect. But they had some things right. There's too much "gray" in our time. We don't even know what evil is anymore. We can't even make good concrete decisions.
Sometimes there is "gray". But there must be a standard...some "black & white".

Where the other person is the same thing, only from another country, trying to keep his countries free from a SUPERHUMAN ARMY FORCING THEIR COUNTRY TO DO WHAT AMERICA WANTS IT TO DO. If Abdul's part of the world breeds those who would committ Jihad on the west in the name of religion, I call it an ounce of prevention. That's why we don't want Iran to get the bomb. He's already said he want Israel eliminated.

And I never called you "ignorant" or stupid or anything else. I just reinforced my position.

And hopfully on time and with better art than we've already seen.

I was a bit disappointed in this last issue only because this pacing is too slow. I was hoping this arc would be over with already. I want Thor back and in his prime -- but not on the last freakin' page. I love this series but it comes out too dang slow. :(

Dont you know throwing people out of airplanes in straight jackets is honorable.

Celldog sorry to come out of left field on ya here since I havent been involved in this thread, but you keep calling Abdul Capt. Jihad, and as muslim that offends me. So please stop it. (that goes for everyone else too, not that you have to do what I say of course)

But consider this Jihad is a religious term that has been misused by a few fanatics and promptly assigned false negative connotation in the West. When Millar wrote his story and created Abdul it was all very political. Not religious. Calling Capt Jihad makes it religious and offensive whether you realize it or not.

Dont wanna make this into a political forum and I dont want to get into an argument with you. Millar didnt call him capt Jihad and that's not his name. So I am asking you nicely to stop.

Whether you do or not I wont press the issue

Oh and just so this post isnt totally off topic...Ultimate Cap kicks ass

BK, trust me, celldog is the only one here calling him that and we all have asked him to stop.

You obviously have read none of celldog's posts.

I wouldn't take it too seriously. The Conservatives in this country feel it's their Holy obligation to make sure we all understand who, and how, we should hate.

Yeah I noticed. He can do what he wants in the end, but I just wanted to voice my opinion on the matter.

Sometimes it's hard not to make this political when discussing such a political book, but yes, we do all need to be polite and respect each other. :)

Banner chose to take the serum, and should be held responsible for the deaths of those people hulk killed. If it's easier to take him out as banner, why the hell not?

And Hank deserved the beating cap gave him. People today may be too *****fied to do what needs to be done, but Cap ain't no modern *****, and thats what I love about him. He does what's right, not what's PC.

And the ldemocrats believe all criminals are just poor widdle victims of circumstance, and terrorists and suicide bombers are rightfully killing innocents because they have been somehow opressed by the evil us and britain, so both sides have flaws.

Oh I do...but what Mark Miller sees as overbearing and agressive, I see as bad ass, tough and old school in the good way. He writes cap as a dick, some people say, but me and others see it as pure bad ass.

I think most people today lack spines, and thats why most of the world (specifically europe) has become a bit of a ****hole. I think we need more tough people who's spines don't keep loosening from the rest of their body.

So in an ironic way, what Miller sees as satire, I see as how things SHOULD be.

I mean arguably, the Ultimate versions of their characters are more bad ass and tougher than the 616 characters, so if he is making fun of the right by making the characters pure, 100% bad ass in the steve austin mould, I take it as a compliment.

Thank you, for proving Mark Millar correct.:yay:

No problem. If some fairy, left wing emo doesn't like the idea of being tough and not being someones little *****, well, that that's his problem.

BTW How the hell do they explain hulk being back in this, seeing as his mini isn't over?
