I think we are still in the majority here, may be wrong though. But, even so in a war between five autobots and seven decepticons Optimus Prime led the Autobots to victory.

The first time I've read the script- movie I've always looked forward to was a mixture of 'Small Soldier's and 'Indepence Day' and looks like that's what I got, so I'm more than happy.

Tone wise you mix Small Soldiers with Independence Day- you get Transformers.

SMALL SOLDIERS: A teenage guy is thrust into a war by a toy who must save the Gargonites from the Commando Elite. The guy is not overly popular, the girl of his dreams is with some jock, and by the end he gets the girl.

TRANSFORMERS: A teenage guy thrust into a war by Bumblebee who must help the Transformers fight the Decepticons. The guy is not overly popular, the girl of his dreams is with some jock, and by the end he gets the girl.

There are also other similarities between these journeys.

ID4 and Transformers basically shares the government, Area 51 type area, war, and invasion.

Thus, yeah- Transformers is Transformers... but, like any movie- you can draw some parallels.

I've had complete fath in Michael Bay since the first day he was announced as director. After seeing the various trailers/ TV spots, and some short clips, theres no doubt that Transformers will be one of, if not THE best film of the summer. July 3rd needs to get here and fast.

^ It's funny, cause NO summer blockbuster, including spidey 3 AND Pirates 3 has lived up to their hype... They were both somewhat disappointing in one way or the other... The movie's that'll rule this summer, I believe will be DieHard4 and TransFormers! All other big movie's are sequels, and they're all the same. Especially one like Harry Potter 5... It's just more of the same, IT REALLY IS!!!

Well, I've been a Transformers fan since '86 (I used to like to go to Target with my bro and we'd gawk at those TF toys that we would never get until we are grown-ups), and I'm very psyched about this movie. I understand that there are areas where they strayed a bit too far from G1, but I don't really mind too much, as long the movie kicks ass in the end.

Would I have been happier if Megatron looks like G1 Meg? Of course. But during these kinds of translation from toys-to-screen, there will always be compromises. There were many fans who were pissed about Spidey having organic webbings (I bet still do), but the films held up despite this inconsistency, and managed to be very good on their own terms. I expect this movie to be the same.

Die Hard 4 is a big-budgeted sequel, just like other movies you mentioned.

Aside from TF, I'm also interested in Fantastic Four 2. While I was disappointed by the first movie, I have read various interviews and I do believe this sequel will finally deliver the FF we were promised in the first movie. I will see Potter 5 eventually, but it may be until the dvd comes out.

yep this movie is THE movie of the summer. I'm not listening to the negatrons anymore. I've lost all respect for them since they're basically just searching for reasons to hate this movie now and seem to have not an ounce of mercy. **** them up their asses, I say.

I wouldn't go that far, but it could be a fun roller coaster ride of a movie.
