The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Paul Giamatti IS Rhino - Part 2

I know their just teasing rhino, but I think the fight will be a little longer than that.
I think the overall scene will be longer, but I'm just talking about the actual fight within it.

People are complying about there being too many villains, but I have a feeling after the movie comes out, there will complaints about there not being enough of Rhino.

Ha I can absolutely see that

That would be very interesting to see that kind of a turn-a-round. Have the 'too many villains' complaint go to a compliment and audiences/critics say they did the multiple villains so well that people wanted more. I can totally see that happening.

Spider-Man just can't catch a break, can he? Its the ol' Parker luck.

Spider-man 3 really hurt people's perception of multiple villains being in a Spider-man film. It's maddening. Other superhero films do it, why not Spider-man?

The way people think is really fascinating. Hopefully TASM2 will change people's perceptions of the whole multiple villain thing and let them calm down in the future.

I think it has to do with people's mentality of 'you burned me once, but not twice.' So people are naturally expecting a similar result. That complaint to compliment turn-a-round would be awesome. Talk about people doing the backstroke. lol. But I think if that does actually happen, it would give this series a tremendous boost.

If people do complain about Rhino having a really small role, I doubt it would be anything major though.

Yeah and isn't that the point too? I mean, with having multiple villains, some of them are going to have a smaller role within the film to make it work.

It reminds me of scarecrow showing up for the beginning of TDK and getting defeated.

The thing is with Rhino is that when he was announced, people don't know how big his role is. We don't know what to expect of him. I wouldn't be surprised if the time we have with him in the chase scene will be longer than him in the suit.

I think the chase is going to be a lot longer than the Rhino fight to be honest. I still wonder what the context of the fight scene is going to be.

With Rhino (I don't consider the chase sequence with Aleksei to really be a fight).

Gotcha. What do you mean by context of the fight?

I mentioned the chase because they...somewhat fight with Spider-Man just toying with him and webbing his pants down haha. Can't wait for that.

When I say context of the fight, I mean a few things:

1. When does it take place?
2. How does the fight start to begin with?
3. What is its relation to the rest of the movie?

Oh, that's right… Spidey webs down Aleksei's pants. I believe that's a nod to USM where Peter webs down Doc Ock's pants, right? :lmao:

Ah I see.
Yeah I could kinda see it as a nod. This movie and series has so much nods to the comics..

I also agree that the chase sequence will be lengthy. There's a lot of stages to it:

prelude) the truck being stolen and attached to the big rig
1) cops chasing the car without spider-man having arrived
2) spider-man arriving and jumping from car-to-car
3) spider-man leaving the chase to quickly rescue max
4) aleksei's men shooting from the back of the armored car
5) spider-man re-arriving and taking them out (web yank from set videos)
6) aleksei detaching the truck from the armored car and going it alone
7) spider-man chasing aleksei
8) spider-man stopping the bus
9) spider-man vs. aleksei on foot

Sounds like a good 10 minute long scene.
