I love fight club but seven has better cinematography.
Definitely. Se7en was really well executed as well. I loved the ending to it.

More of letting the critics do your thinking for you, eh, why am I not surprised that you need someone else's brain in order to function?rotten tomato

okay, zodiac and the first two spider-man movies are rated quite similarly but I still thought it (zodiac) was boring
fincher has made much better movies, heck I even thought alien 3 was better.

Bland? Lacks pesonality? Doesn't have the chops to be spider-man?
Out of genuine interest could you explain why? I watched the film and while watching him all I could see was Peter Parker, particularly. I'm sorry but I don't see the adjectives you used to describe Logan and yet, I'm sure you and others will go on to say how great Maguire was playing spidey. It's like some people were expecting a Daniel Day-Lewis type performance from this kid.
In my honest opinion, based on Percy Jackson, Lerman, especially with a good script to work with would completely own the role of spidey and make the whole world forget about Maguire in an instant.
You seem upset, take a breather and let's calm ourselves down a bit.You are just seeing what you want to see.
I was constantly waiting for the kid to show something, ANYTHING to prove he's more than a blank slate and he couldn't do that. His mother whom he loves was taken away from him and he wakes up and doesn't really even care. People keep accusing him of something he didn't do and he never says like I DIDN'T ****ING TAKE YOUR DUMBASS LIGHTNING BOLT! I kept waiting for him to show some kind of emotion or anything but he never did. He lost his mother to the underworld and he only seems to have mild concern. Kid was beyond wooden.
The movie was ****. Lerman might be a good performer in the future but he didn't show it here.
Fans just like to **** on the original trilogy and Maguire because its the popular thing to do right now.
Actually, after seeing multiple films of his, and not just Percy Jackson (which I don't care to see personally...that includes his movie HOOT). He can handle anything the script calls for in a Spider-Man film. Unless James Vanderbilt wrote a Spider-Man script that makes LORD OF THE RINGS look like an episode of the Smurfs. He'll be able to handle it right now.I saw percy jackson last night, I was entertined at best. But I think with a little time and effort, logan could pull off a decent peter parker.
http://www.thecinemasource.com/blog/25540/news/exclusive-news-the-new-spider-man-has-been-cast/Inside sources say that Percy Jackson star, Logan Lerman has been cast in the Sony reboot of the Spider-Man film series. Director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) is set to helm the first film in what Im guessing will be another trilogy although that has not been confirmed at this time.
The story takes the characters back to high school in the New York City borough of Queens. No word yet on who has been cast as Peter Parkers love interest Mary Jane Watson formerly played by Kirsten Dunst or his best friend Harry Osborn previously played by Mr. James Franco.
Webb is in talks with Avatar director James Cameron to use his cameras and technique to film the entire movie in 3-D.
The official announcement will no doubt come shortly along with more details to follow.

Maybe the movie/script was crap (I wouldn't doubt it), I never did care for these fake Harry Potter type children films (The Spiderwick Chronicles, Narnia, Bridge to Terabithia) they all seem the same to me in some way. Thus, is why I said that you all should watch multiple films with Lerman in them, to get a broader view of his talent (3:10 to Yuma, The Butterfly Effect, Meet Bill, Gamer).
I don't judge Tobey Maguire's talents based on Spider-Man alone (that wouldn't be pretty if I did), I'd point you to Pleasentville, The Cider House Rules and Brothers (that I recently downloaded out of curiosity, sense I've heard good things about it).
People beef about them (Tobey/Kirsten) in Spider-Man, because they show no enthusiasm towards the characters with whom they are playing, and it shows on film. Most importantly, because their characters doesn't remind people of the characters from the comics they grew up with. That too, can be apart of a bad script and the direction.
I've ofter said, no matter who they get for Peter Parker/Spider-Man, if the script and direction is weak, and show very little signs of what the characters should be, you simply cannot get a good performance out whomever, no matter how talented. Actually, after seeing multiple films of his, and not just Percy Jackson (which I don't care to see personally...that includes his movie HOOT). But there are other capable actors...so let's wait and see. To me, the script and direction is key to pulling off Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Take this with an EXTREME grain of salt:

I did watch most of Narnia (I can't stand movies with a lot of magic, except Lord of the Rings), are you saying that it's much different from Potter, or it has an older theme that I don't know about in its sequels? I do remember hearing something about its Christian themes. I gotta say from what I saw, I was reminded of Potter, tons of magic and annoying kids.
Uhh...what? Random...?God, I don't know what it is about Leonardo DiCaprio but every time I see his face, I just want to punch it. Dude just irks me the wrong way.
