Dude the first two SPider-Man films had maturity and intelligence with thought provoking ideas underneath and themes. More so SM2. Spider-Man is meant for all ages.
I must have missed all of the intelligent, mature and thought provoking ideas hidden underneath the sappy romance and Aunt May's 20 minute long hero speeches.
Just because a guy wrote Zodiac doesn't mean he's going to give you a more mature Spider-Man.
Can't you even allow me to dream? :o

PJ is doing 'okay' at the box office. not pulling up trees and not flopping so his stock should remain relatively low for sony to move in and snatch him up.

How can you not like Zodiac?
They can't because it doesn't contain a Power Ranger villain, who recites a nursery rhyme in his dialogue, they have to hear cute children songs like "Itsy Bitsy Spider..." and "Rain Drops Keep Falling On Head" before they can like a movie.

Isn't that precious and sweet?

is that supposed to mean if you don't like zodiac it naturally follows you like the GG? erm, okay...

for the record I didn't like zodiac because it was a borefest, the director is capable of so much better and there are better examples of his movies to choose from

No, it means I don't expect people who drool over these mediocre Spider-Man films, to actually like a well written film, where you don't have to leave your brain at home to enjoy it.

Boring, is watching Tobey Maguire try to mumble horrible dialogue for 2 hours, with the enthusiasm of a wooden box.

People do have the ability to have different opinions, its shocking I know, and to those people the films were not mediocre at all.

Thank you for reading me like a Hallmark Card and putting me in my place.

well its all about opinions, I found the first SM movies (and even the 3rd one to a lesser extent) entertaining but found zodiac boring as heck. each to their own, you have you opinion and I'll have mine.

rotten tomato
SM2 - 94%
SM1 - 90%
zodiac - 89%

meta critic
SM2 - 83%
SM1 - 73%
zodiac - 78%

okay, zodiac and the first two spider-man movies are rated quite similarly but I still thought it (zodiac) was boring :oldrazz:
fincher has made much better movies, heck I even thought alien 3 was better.

Zodiac in my eyes had so much potential. But it just droned on and on,with so many explanations, theories and conversations, that never fully developed or materialised...In short,I got bored and lost interest. Not a bad movie at all,but it shouldnt make me fall asleep.

Se7en on the other hand. Now that was great.

PJO doing just better than expected at box-office and script was mediocre but lerman did try to inject something into the character. took on a brooklyn accent and all and scenes w/ Joe Pantoliano had potential. he'd be better than maguire at playing a wise-cracking spidey, the voice alone is a major difference. Sony and Webb, if he has any say, should really go with someone who loves the character and the source materials for spidey (USM, ASM, SSM, even the cartoons). Saw interviews with other possibles like David Henrie, Joe Jonas (ugghh) and Efron (double uggghhh)and it's like did these guys even pick up the comics once in their lives? Lerman on the other hand sounds sincere when he says Spidey is his all-time fave fictional character. There's something there. Judge him on his range and not just one film. Apparently his dad is a comic freak and named him Logan Wade after Wolverine and Deadpool
