well that's that.

I wouldn't completely dismiss it just yet. There's still hope.
I think if sony were interested in the actor they would have issued a 'no comment' the fact they are so open and dismissive makes me think they aren't interested.
Didn't Sony also say that the crew for Spider-Man 4 was only taking a holiday break in December and that there was no delay in filming(when certain sites started reporting the delays). Well we know what happened next.
Yup, Sony has lied before, like I just stated. Wouldn't be surprised if they are lying again.
Apparently Sony has said it's untrue and they have not been in talks with any actor. Just seems weird to me in all that Lerman himself would initially say he was up for the role.
Whole situation is weird. Either way, I just wish they'd at least reveals whose Spider-Man already so we can get rid of this particular merry go round of rumors.

I don't believe Sony hasn't had any talks with any actors for a second.
It's pretty well known by reporters and bloggers that there's a list of names of who they want for the Peter Parker role.
Mr. Logan Lerman was 2nd (SECOND) on that list.
This is info that was leaked. I don't have links to back it up, but I've spoken to a couple of people who don't even know each other who report on these things and they've both said the same thing. These are ppl who I've had the pleasure of trusting in the past
I'm gonna connect the dots here, which is why I believe Logan is locked down for the role. Of course I could be wrong, we could all be wrong, but based on what we've all read and heard, this is my strong assumption :
Percy Jackson is a box office success. The first of 2010, actually.
It's made more money than 90% of the films in this kind of kid-friendly genre. AND it's drops have been steady and not huge or fast. 4 weeks in and the movie is at number 5 at the BO. 20th Century Fox has stated that if the picture makes $100 million or more (it took $95 million to make), then they would greenlight a sequel. As of today, it has made almost $200 million World Wide. Fox is reportedly VERY happy with it's success. Since then, I've been told Sony bumped Logan to the number 1 spot on that list. Because it shows that Logan can carry an action film as a lead actor AND that audiences have accepted him.
HOWEVER, no sequel has been announced yet. What's the hold up? Why not announce it already? It's already surpassed its budget, and even though reviews were mixed, audiences and kids generally loved it for the most part.
SPIDER-MAN. If it weren't for Fox wanting a sequel for Percy Jackson, Sony would have Logan confirmed and announced already for Spider-Man. Both sides are staying quiet about the future of both franchises, is it just coincidence that they both *might* feature the same lead actor?
As of now, I believe, Sony and Fox are probably hammering out how to get Logan for both franchises without sacrificing or interferring with one anothers schedule and filming. Think of how CLOSE both films would have to be released by if they started filming this year! Not to mention all the press touring Logan would have to do for BOTH films.
I really hope they don't make him choose one over the other. What a tremendous amount of pressure that would be![]()
Latino Review is reporting Cinema Source's scoop. I don't think they would post something like that if it wasn't true.
Ever since the news broke that Sony was rebooting Spider-Man with Marc Webb in the director's seat, only one name has been thrown around as a possible Peter Parker replacement. Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief's Logan Lerman was heavily rumored to be taking over the part from Tobey McGuire. And every news source on the planet ran with this news. Now, officials from Sony Pictures have shot those rumors down as being completely false.
Sony alerted us early today that no one has been offered the job. And that negotiations are not in place with any actor. Which might come as a surprise to Lerman, who has talked about taking on the role in various recent interviews. Are there any other actors rumored to be donning those iconic red and blue tights? The undisclosed source we spoke with gave us the name Angus T. Jones, who currently stars on Two and a Half Men. But this was clearly a joke. Right? We're not sure.
Spider-Man is set to be release in 3D on July 3rd, 2012. We will keep you updated as official casting announcements are made.
Not is Sony denying that Logan Lerman, according to Movieweb, they're...well:
